I might continue to play the game if the Devs fix the issues of this game like the spotting issue.
A major turn off for me is the community of this game. IMO its the worst community of a game ever.
Comments
No.
Want a worse of a community, go play any DOTA game and you will see that WOT has nothing compared to them community wise.
I havnt personally had any problems with the community, i usually stay quiet and the amount of games i have played i havnt seen much "QQing, and arguing" etc.
Saying that there has been some games that some people do go out of their way to argue and to annoy etc.
But not the worse community.
No I will not play this game. After some of the personal attacks done by a dev and a moderator from wot on these very forums, there is no way I would give them any of my time. Kind of bad when you get a dev and a moderator decide they want to follow a user over here they had already banned on their forums and then decide to go about trashing them over here.
I play like 4 good winning games for my tanks and then get off because it not worth it to stay on and see if matchmaking will give you a "fair" game. Sometimes I wish I could hit the person that designed the matchmaking system it's that bad.
erictlewis, as far as i know, i am the only Mod from WoT on MMORPG. I came here to spread the word about WoT, to keep the non WoT players informed about new things and to try and correct/answer/explain things so all the haters dont give a bad /false image of the staff and game.... i dont even know who the heck you are or even remember talking to you on here.
As for the OP's concerns, as stated a numbr of times within WoT, the spotting issue will get fixes (possibly a complete fix) coming in the next patch which should be around launch... as for the Community...well, cant argue there... but what can one do aside from trying to police it and remove those bad elements, oh, but of course then were power abusive dictators once again.
Just point out the fact how snarky your rear end just got with me. I been reading the forums. You can look at the one that says stay clear of this game and see how snarky you got there too, that was the one that made me decide not to give it a go.
I get you get defensive and all but when you get down right into why folks are being banned an all and out them over here, then you sir have a problem. However in your defence folks should not be coming over here going omg i got banned. However they do and then you feed the troll and you get snarky. Just like you did with me.
Addendum: How they heck I was, was a potential customer who was reading the forums to see what the game was all about and if I wanted to give it a try. After reading the forums here I decided not to. So that is who the heck I was.
I realy enjoyed the game in beta, so yes, i will probably play it quite a bit. It's fun and inovative, and that's all i need.
My reply was generalized and the only "snarky" (what ever the hell that means) comments i made was these 2 single lines to your accusation of me and a dev chasing you here (considering i am the only Mod here in any Offical stance i have to assume me) "erictlewis, as far as i know, i am the only Mod from WoT on MMORPG.... i dont even know who the heck you are or even remember talking to you on here." the rest wasnt even directed to just you alone.
As for that other post, the person is trying to tell people how abusive and crappy we are, and how innocent he is, which in itself is a lie... i could have put links to the 3 images as proof of what he said/did that we have archived, i could of quoted his chat logs aswell and killed any arguement right there... but that would be overkill and that IMO should remain private between him and WoT and not displayed publically here. Now i did say WHY he got banned, but i did not go into detailes, just the general rules that got broken.
So no, you definitely are not coming back? Thank you for that - one less bad apple in the community.
And yes, I will be playing this game - especially if they finally balance out the American tanks a bit... I've only been playing for about a month now and already I can tell the russian tanks are too powerful - the KV is a common example
I will play the game but as a casual player, not enough time for me to play more and of course there is more than one game i play so thats a huge factor.
Bad forum community to me doesnt matter , if the game is good then i will play it if i got the time.

Too much grind, cant play with friends without paying.
IZI MODO?! Ha-ha-ha!
Can't play with friends without paying? What are you speaking of?
I think its' spin and delivery of game-play in the third-person shooter genre is different enough for me to get some enjoyment out of playing it casually.
It seems easy enough to play solo, with a couple friends on the same team or with a large guild; should do fine.
Um if you wanna play with your friends you better pony up $10 to buy the premium account.
You cant play with your friends unless you pay 10 bucks.
You can play with your friends in Training battles and Company battles, you can also play with them in clan battles... deppending on your clans leadership they can also send you gold handouts from their territorys as each one will generate a specific amount of gold, so a successful clan could in essence provide for some of their members prem accounts.
There will also be more events and contests to win gold, and i'm sure most of us mods are looking forward to doing another Kill Mod event in the coming months.
as a side note, only one of the 3 need a prem account, and the gold prices are listed in my Topic here in MMORPG, http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/311504/Preorder-Closed-Beta-Gift-and-post-Launch-Gold-pricing-Info.html. the prices are reasonable for anyone who plays subscription based MMO's... would you rather this be one of them?? at least you can still play WITHOUT having to pay.
This game mirrors World of Warcraft on many levels.
Just like most every mmog before it, it is incredibly grindy, and is projected to be worse come release unless you are willing to pay real-life money for in-game money.
Tank balance is absolutely terrible, just like World of Warcraft everything is centered around a rock-beats-scissors mechanic.
So, if sitting down to work(grind), and be subjected to unbalance on a monumental scale is your idea of entertainment – This game is for you.
Although this game is only in a closed beta stage, release is rite around the corner, and combined with previous games like world of warcraft (7-8 years old) whom never got any sense of balance implemented, it is safe to say this game won’t be all that different from what we are seeing now.
The person I quoted said he would probably play it casually which probably means hes not going to pay to get prem.
Second Training Battles are worthless and no one plays in them the same goes for Company Battles its too much work and effort just to find a room. The fact is if you want to play the Main game mode which 99% of the people play with your friends. Someone has to come up with 10 dollars just to play with your friends.
Stop trying to sugar coat it. Cant sugar coat a pile of crap.
These are just a few of the things that need addressing that you commented on, they also need to address the afk players and bots which are in the game sucking exp it's a joke. Invis tanks and a few of the maps need to be re-designed or completely removed. Graphic driver issues still not resolved and they so close to going live. Okay they may have a re-launch patch worked out but personally I don't see these issues being resolved before launch.
There needs to be a name block system which prevents you seeing people chat when you have blocked them completely and even avoiding pairing you in groups with these same people and that will go some way to resloving the moaning problems.
One of the major problems for me is the foreign language problems trying to understand people in team chat blasting out orders ect is very chaotic indeed and annoying as hell sometimes and I'm fortunate I understand three other languages and feel for those who don't. The only way they can resolve this is by different servers and that just aint gonna happen at all.
There also needs to be a better way of reporting players for breach of rules as at the moment you have to take screen shots and then when you do send in a complaint it never gets addressed and no reply from the WOT teams, if this does not improve I will be one not bothering after a short trail period that's for sure.
Had the derv team resloved these issues I may of even bought a pre- launch gold bundle but will not be bothering now.

I posted once on here about the major issue I had with the game and it still stands. The moderation of thier forums is done with an iron fist, for better or for worse.
Flame wars may be stopped quickly, but valid topics and threads are loccked and closed without getting a chance to even be read. If you try to expand upon something that was menitoned in a 20+ page thread as a new thread, it gets locked. If you have any outright cirticisms that take a new persepective on an issue, they get locked. If you even think about posting something someone else said months ago, it gets locked.
Basically it results in a really sterile forum where you see dozens of posts regarding mundane aspects of the game, but few threads providing any criticism or feedback. Makes it look like the game is completely fun when the posts criticizing it are either locked or buried on page 19 of a 20 page thread that has an equally sterile subject started by the moderators - "Official view range" or "Official matchmaking" etc.
The forums are the first place a person will look when playing or before trying an online game. It's the place people usually ask questions and get a feel for issues in the game and overall game play. Theirs are intentionally created and moderated to be deceptive. The fact that some of their key "suggestion" threads won't let you post until you've had 50 posts and others require moderator approval before being posted are proof of this.
I will play it only on the Tier 2 level, everything else is like begging someone to pull your nose hairs!
Reason why is after T2, the match making system gets brain farts and puts King Tigers up against Panthers. While on paper, they are a good match, in practice, KT will always win. Thats just a mild example too, 4 IS7's vs 1 IS7 and 3 JagdTigers or whatever, it's not fun to watch and always seems like you're on the wrong side of the match.
...aannnddd then you have Arty! While they are uselfull, they make having a high tier tank or TD useless. They eat slow moving targets for lunch. Everyone hates Arty, everyone hates their UAVs, able to see the entire map and shoot with GPS percision. Just not fun.
Basically, all these problems do not exist at the T2 level and those are some of the most fun battle of ny game I've played as far as MMOs go that use a match making system.

I tried it during open beta and its was ok, great idea.
Then when it went live it turned into one of those micro-managing games where you pay stupid amounts to have an advantage which really put me off the game, also the fact that the premium membership really isnt worth paying for. The bugs and that I can live with, they will get it sorted eventually.
I just dont like the fact i have to pay to play with my friends and also having no daily gold allowance was a bit harsh even if they did reduce it. They do have to admit the community at times is very one sided, fair enough if someone is just spamming chat or speaking rubbish but i have seen a mod kick someone cause the friend of the mod was losing his argument.
But tbh ill let the game grow a bit and come back i did like the style but too many problems atm.

First thing that came in my mind too.
