I have tried before but not really given it a good shot. Are there any players on this board that play in the same corp or are part of a pvp corp that takes in new players? I'm not looking for a free ride to stuff just the quickest path to pvp. Also if I want to go straight to pvp what do yall recommend I start training first?

EVE University is a player run corp for exactly this purpose. Agony Unleashed is another, that focuses specifically on PvP.

Eve university takes months to accept new applications, so I wouldnt bother.
What you probably need to do is look for a Faction Warfare Corp.
Have you read up on the game before trying it?
Because, and I quote:

Game may sound great but is very unforgiving for new player, particularily those interested in PvP.

But to be fair, this can be the reason why some people decide to try it. They know its hard and can approach the game with strong determination.
In reality its not that hard providing you approach it with the right attittude.
