Yea it looks and plays very well.  It seems to be mostly solo grinding with a linear pathing system.  The npc dialogue / quest giver system is very cool, it reminds me of TOR except without all the long winded "bla bla" voice overs.   One thing I don't like is there seems to be a lot of down time (kill 3 mobs then go rest, aka Aion).  I think the character creation system has most of its details turned off during CB.

And something that could make this game better is if it had collision detection but sadly it doesn't.

I wish the gliding would be a touch faster, about as fast as downhill gliding. While making these glicheee moves or "running" in the air they could become slower. But in general i find it too slow and the angle too flat when "gliding" through the air.

Love the consistency of the artstyle and hope they can keep it up over years.  Recently Aion adopts more an more classic L2 style. Which is not inferior in any way but simply inconsitent. But heck I have actually never seen any MMO and even just a few games in general with an artistical quality as B & S, everything visual at this moment "fits" and has a tremendous quality

I also like that for every race and gender the gear also individually created and even redesigned, not just some cheap skins put over the basic model, like many other sloppy games.

This is just not the case especially with the UE3 eingine.  They could have done it and gotten very smooth gameplay with the engine they are using, they just desided not to use it for some odd reason.

Well collision detection in a mmo is significantly different then a single player game, though I can't explain the technicalities, just mind that when collision is calculated between multiple players, it gets really complicated, possibly causing latency, server crashing if not implemented very well, even if it UE3. Because physics needs to be calculated at the server, instead on our half of the machine, since that will just leads to infy amount of physics hacks from less than honourable players, hey we can't be perfect :P

But in the end, yea I still do hope future games and tackle on this issue and implement a lot more physics into the game, with newer technology and all that.

Wow this combat is the best I've seen for any MMO.  For the people saying it looks generic and you can't dodge attacks should watch the PK Footage 2 on youtube.  It shows jumping around, dodging attacks, knocking attacks with some combo thing in mid-air, into ground grappling techniques... i don't know wtf some of you are thinking if you think that is generic.

I'm sorry but this is poor IMO - at least atm.

TcoS had far superior combat than this.

    TcoS combat.

For me THAT was poor. And I did beta TcoS and liked it a bit...

The videos of B&S linked so far showed some exciting things. Charge ups, stuns, aerials, knock-downs, grappling moves (!!!), active blocking/dodging/parrying. Really martial artsy, TEKKEN-ish. Just what they were going for.

And all of that just from characters level 2 up through 8....can't wait to see the higher levels.

I would really want to know your dog..... :P

I don't think it is due to the engine being the same, its just the since both BnS and TERA are from Korean, the artist and designers have the really similar influences, despite being different sub genre (BnS being a martial arts fantasy, oppose to TERA being a full eastern fantasy)

I mean you don't see people saying DCUO looks like TERA or BnS, nor Mass Effect 2 looking like Batman: Arkham Asylum

Game Engine merely provide rendering, cutscenes, and occasionally a physics system, but it doesn't create the models for you.

Ok true but u can almost immediately see what engine this games nowdays are using especially single player games from the west are overusing the unreal engine.

I don't see anything wrong with trying to create a good game with one of the industry best engines (other being CryEngine), people don't use CryEngine as much, since it isn't available to test and play with unless you pay for the license first. Unreal allows you to just download the SDK and start learning the software before you actually start making the game.
