you never know that game you have been waiting 4 years to finaly come out .... might just keep being pushed back and pushed back, and to top it off it ends up so god awful boring and terrible gameplay and no content..pretty sunsets do not make a game (thats one for you few who have actualy tried the highly praised but rarely played DnL)
And maybe reopening one of my MMORPG accounts every couple months, playing for 10-14 days, getting bored, and quitting again, like I've been doing for 2 years now

for offline games yes definetely Elder Scrolls IV ..that game is looking nice, plus Battlefield 2. Wasn't too happy with Dungeon Siege 1 but 2 might be good.
edit: the offline part was meant only for elder scrolls heh
Online: D&Donline hopefully! If not maybe CoV, Tabula Rasa, Imperator(if released),Auto Assault, Tactica Online, Warhammer(if released)...maybe Irth, doubtfull but who know? If Vanguard is released and there is a non-raiding server, it could be where I would be. So many possibilities, yet so little is known about those games.
Offline: Heroes of Might and Magic V hopefully. This list is incredibly long and impossible to predict. I would bet that Wizards of the Coast screw it like the IV however...I am looking forward for my experience in the 3 first versions, despite a nasty 4th, I have got so much fun in 2 & 3!
Boardgame: Imperium Twilight with tons of expensions and upgrades maybe!!!
PS: I would love if D&Donline would be a relatively small grind in the first form, yet adding each world that exist as later expension with the same little grind again(and no mean to use existing characters in others setting most of the time)...and as the 3rd or 4th expension, adding a place where you need a level 20+ in every world setting in many class in order to progress in the worst grind concept ever, casuals would ignore it and just play what they like...while I would have grind for eternity and be focusing on this specific few zones and all it ''uberness''(as long as not raiding, could add a raiding place, I would just ignore it completely).

Imperator, if it comes out on time, Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2, Spartan Total Warrior, Battlefield 2, and if there's a god, the rumored new Smash Bros game.
I just recently ended the grind that if FFXI, that way when I start a new MMO it will be really, really nice and fresh. I haven't bought very many games this year.....there aren't very many out that really interest me
Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...

who knows what game i'll be playing but i know it wont have any instancing and it will be skill based.
My best guess is Vanguard and Eve-Online or Dark and Light and Eve-Online. I can only keep active at a decent pace on 2 games so it will be one of those combinations. Roma Victor and Imperator look good too but i doubt Imperator will be out next year at this time. For that matter i doubt Vanguard will be out this time next year.. pfft i doubt DnL will be out this time next year LOL
wtf i thought a fantasy life was supposed to make you an optimist.. seems i've turned into a pecimist.
Call me jaded from too much exposure to SOE games but I see little to entice me in the future. The only games Im gonna definitely buy to try are...
1. Fallen Earth - Its not Fallout 3 or Fallout mmorpg like Ive dreamed of but it looks mighty close. A chance to play a mmorpg in a setting other than elves and mages is a huge plus.
2. Star Trek online - Im a huge trek fan so this is a must to try. However I gotta say I have serious doubts about it. Its going to be difficult for them to balance ground game vs space and it could end up like SWG where its two distinct seperate games. With a fiercely loyal fanbase similiar to SWG, one mistake and devs will never live it down. I expect this game to flop badly like the last tv series and movie. Would be nice to be proven wrong though, cause if its made well then could be the hit of the year.
3. Dark and Light - I know absolutely nothing about this game. Ive resisted reading their forums and here about it. I skipped the recent interview from E3. I want to go into the game without any expectations. All I know (at least I think) is the game isnt elves and mages garbage.
4.Lord of the Rings - Although I mostly despise the classic EQ clones, this one might be different. For one, it follows the books so much potential for lore there. If they could make it where crafting is a real seperate profession and not a WoW type afterthought then I'll be hooked. Otherwise, it wil end up being a bunch of Frodio or Gandalphh or Legolis copycats running around.
Games I definitely wont be buying...
1.Vanguard - Definitely not for me, solo play will be non-existent in this game. Dont get me wrong, i like grouping 25-50% of the time and enjoy chatting or hanging in game to socialize also but dont like games all about raids and grouping. Might be a great game for those who enjoy that genre, just not my cup of tea.
2. Age of Conan - Im a huge fan of Conan having collected the comics since I was a kid. However, the gameplay is a bad downer after reading a short description. I start off in a single player game and once i reach a certain level THEN I can join the mmorpg world ??? Sorry, but that needs to be dumped immediately. Otherwise they should just set up a single server and called it diablo 3 cause thats basically the amount of players they'll have to stick around for it bleh.
Everything else is either an oddball game dealing with cars or ships or another EQ clone. I sure wish these guys would try an offer some innovation like Fallen Earth is trying.

no idea until i try them.

GTR and Microsoft Flight Sim 2004.

Bite me, Turbine.
Hero's Journey, Age of Conan, or Gods and Heroes... whichever impresses the most
Probably with a little Battlefield 2 and Age of Empires 3 thrown in.

Elder Scrolls 3: Oblivion

Can't tell but I'm thinking of Dark & Light..Lots of fun..
Roma Victor! And also I like the look of Pirates of the Burning Sea. Definately not Gods & Heroes, "there is only one" Roman mmorpg.... Roma Victor
Benny..........................
Definitely be playing: Elder Scrolls 3 (Oblivion), Roma Victor and Battlefield 2
Will most probably try: Dark and Light and Pirates of the Burning Sea
No clue but if I try to guess right now I will probably end up dead WRONG! Hehe, good gaming everyone.

1. Guild Wars
2. Shot Online
3. ORFotA (great game)

Make a difference!
This time next year I wil probably be stting here looking at even newer MMOs waiting for them to come out
Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit
Should be D&L or Vanguard if they ever manage to release it.
For offline PC game most likly to be Elder Scrolls IV or Civ 4
The Best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time.
ill be playing vanguard soh and / or imperator , AOE3 for rts , and BF2 for fps or maybe NS2

If conan is out, that, if not probably D&L or vanguard.
if nothing new impresses me, possibly SWG still :P
Joined 2004 - I can't believe I've been a MMORPG.com member for 20 years! Get off my lawn!
Probably stick with WoW...maybe jump back into EVE and PS.
Might give Irth a go round...DnL reminds me way too much of Horizons, so I'll wait for it to get established before I try it (if).
Auto Assult looks to be good.
Vanguard if it is out, maybe DAoC if Vanguard isn't out yet.
Games I won't be playing, any game where soloing is prefered to grouping.
