A band that comes to mind is Coaltar of the Deepers; an alternative rock, metal, electronic and shoegaze band from Japan (they cover a lot of genres, but don't really have a static genre). I think a lot of people would actually enjoy their stuff, but maybe just haven't really heard of them. I mean, there's so much music within your own country, let alone others.
Hypernova - Fairy tales Really nice song, also i find the video to be very minimal and enjoyable. And... that drum set... simply beautifull. Agreed and tested, it sounds better if we blow up our speakers.
Electro sound Teddy bears feat Iggy pop vs bloc party - punk rocker Very smooth, but at the same time very catchy to me ears. After listening to this, i kept the rythm on my head for like 1 hour. Well done mash up.
Punkrocker - Teddybears Relaxing, thanks for sharing. Reminds me of zen and karma and all that stuff. whatever eheh. Mostly, reminds me of positive things. I just noticed now, but my face was in a auto smile position (not a big smile), this music speaks to my cheeks and relax them or something. HACKER.
Oingo Boingo - Little girls Personally i dont remember you posting this particular song (even tho i think you posted other song, belonging to this band, im sorry for my lazyness(?)). It´s how they (who?potatoes?) use to say, old but gold. From the beggining of the song, to the whole video. thumbs up! (wait, aint this youtube?)
also... why is there pedobear on the suggestion list? oh boy... oh boy...
Castlevania SOTN: Wood carving partita You know those horror movies where theres a piano that plays by himself? ye... IM KINDA ON A FEAR MOOD ATM... No. Serious. I like it, i dont really know what to say about it. Also, as i didnt play the game (unfortunately?) theres no memorys wich i can tell about. But ok, i like it. Thanks.
Melleefresh & Deadmau5 - Hey baby (original mix) Deadmau5 playing like benassi with a flavour of p*rn (music). Would dance to it, no i wouldnt... unless i was drunk. In that case... no lets focus on the music... Catchy and somehow good (somehow because after listening to 5 times the same house/dubstep/trance etc. music i get really tired of it). Thanks for sharing pal.
Don Henley - New york minute Brilliant! If you are blue, than im a blue man in a blue world in a blue house all blue. No im sorry... I like the song alot, this is the kind of things that make me want to visit new york. (not stating that the song was made on new york)
R.A The rugged man - "uncommon valor" Awesome, finally someone shares a bit of my tastes! I didnt know this guy, but he knows to play with the words, dawm dynamic. And that women kinda singing on the back, gives it a fresh touch. This is real, this guy raps like a gun, and shoots truth. Even tho, when i watch to the video, it seems like its a parody or something. Defiantly a strong song, keep up!
War by Edwin Starr ahahah, even the last night me and my friends were singing this music. Ahaha oldie goldie stuff. Also the charisma of the man, awesome.
Alice´s retaurant part 1 Seems a song made with much love, positive and kinda remembers me of old disney cartoons (i dont know why, maybe the feeling that i shared when i watched to them (happy times, happy times!)) Also, do you know to tell me if this is country music or not? im yet confused on what is country music.
Jefferson airplane - whitte rabbit Even tho they are like with serious faces and all, i take that more on the humour way. Anyhow, she has a deep voice, and the instrumentals are ok too. Stays on the OK part for now, eheh.
Creedence Clearwater Revival : Run trough the jungle Already knew it. Good as almost all their work (IMO). Also, is this country?
The rolling stones - Paint it black Simply... f*cking awesome.
Disposable heroes - Metallica When i was a kid, i accidentally stole that cd from my father. I listened to it... addicted.
R.E.M - Orange crush Ok, good music. Now whats intriguing me, isnt this song about the same thing as "R.A The rugged man - Uncommon valor".Its seems to be about a orange paint, wich was a chemical used by the U.S forces to reveal the enemies on the jungle or forest. Am i right?
Spiral Unplugged - Final fantasy X - guitar Allways hated final fantasy games, but hey if there was a music that inspired this cover then im glad that the game existed. Good solo, but not super terrific from my perspective (but hey my perspective is really poor, since i dont play guitar, i dont know how difficult it is).
Cypress hill - I aint goin out like that Is this rap? Stays on my ok side for now too
Jedi mind tricks - I who have nothing I need to start listening to this artist more, it seems ive been missing a good part of rap. Thanks for sharing ehehe.
Twiztid - Afraid of me I didnt listen to the lyrics as i should (im really tired atm, /zombie state) but it seemed to be ok. Later ill listen to it again.
Dj shadow - Building steam with a grain of salt I like that music alot i must say. Its like really dynamic and allways changing the rythm.Ill take a closer look at his work. Thanks .
Green Jello - Little pig, Little pig Hell of a nice theory you got there pal. I kinda like the song, it makes me laugh (even tho its a inner laugh). Just one thing, is this song about "the three little pigs"?
Coaltar of the deepers - Sinking slowly More alternative than anything else (IMO). Even tho i dont understand what they are saying, i like the music. Its very calm and almost on a "lounge" style. I enjoy their style, and will defiantly take a closer look to their work too. Thanks for sharing and welcome (your first time here if im right).
Ten masked men - Im blue The men screaming such a hilarious song with that voice... only makes it more hilarious really. Like normally i would associate that strong voice to some (aswell) strong words or thoughts. Man toughts or something. It´s kinda twisted in that aspect, thats why i think its funny. But the guitar is well played. Well, even tho its ok, i still prefer the original. But aftermath, it´s all about the taste.
Agony of existence Eh. Gets repetitive.Stays on my ok side too.
Nox arcana 22 spellbound Like this one. Has like rock (or even metal i dont know) instrumentals, and the voice isnt like metal songs. Its smooth , and in my opinion sticks better in this tone. At least to my ears, and to the throat wealth.
Brian setzer - When the bells dont chime Whe he said "this is a new song i wrote. its about women (wimen??)" he got my attention. He knows to move his hands on that banjo and on that guitar. Simply awesome. And his voice is pretty good too. Nice one, thanks.
Wont be close to the computer untill sunday, thats why i posted 3 songs.
On the roots, those arent their best ones. They are just diferent. They switch their styles a bit. From old school rap to the Jimmy Fallon show themes. Take your time to look at their work. Its worth.
Ha, "Safe"... the song makes me feel aything but! It sounds kinda... creepy. Not bad, just a eerie. I also listened to Mushroomhead after that and nearly had a stroke. Now that my heart's beating again, I'll post more.
Alice's Restaurant - Anit-Vietnam, Folk music from the late 60's. Woodie Guthrie was his father, a classic folk artist and Arlo followed later on with songs like this, with some humor and acoustic guitar.
Orange Crush - Yeah, you're right. I think you mean Agent Orange? A cancer-causing herbicide used in Vietnam. That's their play on words.
Little Pigs - Ummm... in a twisted way, I guess it's about hte 3 little pigs. It's catchy... but bad... but good... but still bad. I remember watching this on MTV's Headbanger's Ball back in high school. My friends also ordered a Green Jell-O VHS back before they got sued by Jell-O and had to change their name to Jelly. Doubt it's worth the plastic it's recorded on these days.
For some reason, the link I posted last time was broken (probably mistyped it), so here it is again. I just found these guys today. Trying to look up blends of Rock/Metal with cello instrumentals involved. Heard this and was thoroughly impressed!! Even the clash of vocals ends up working.
I'd like to start this post with an awesome pic I found on the 'net...
Each of these is the singer for a band I'm a fan of, and so I've decided to use it as the basis for this post...
For those who don't recognize them outright, they are (L to R): Sharon den Adel from 'Within Temptation', Dominique Persi from 'Stolen Babies', Cristina Scabbia from 'Lacuna Coil' and Anneke van Giersbergen formerly of 'The Gathering' and currently with 'Agua de Annique' (she's also featured in some of the songs I've linked previously by Devin Townsend).
I'm a huge fan of female singers in general, but these 4 in particular because each of them has their own style that quickly grew on me.
So, here's a selection of songs from each band:
'The Howling' by Within Temptation. This song was, incidentally, from the "official music video" for Spellborn. Very dramatic and "orchestral metal" is how I would describe it.
'Push Button' by Stolen Babies. I'd describe this band as Oingo Boingo meets Mr. Bungle meets Guano Apes... with an accordion. Love this band's style. Awesome stuff.
'I Like It' by Lacuna Coil. There are many awesome songs I could choose spanning their catelog from heavy to mellow. I chose this one 'cause A) It's a fun video I always like a song with a positive message C) I like the song (imagine that!)
'Strange Machines' by The Gathering. Chose a live video for this one, 'cause it really showcases Anneke's voice (which I love) in its most "honest" form... no studios or production to "clean it up". It's all her.
And that's that for this installment.
Enjoy!
"If you just step away for a sec you will clearly see all the pot holes in the road, and the cash shop selling asphalt..." - Mimzel on F2P/Cash Shops
Sa Ding Ding - Maybe it's a cultural thing, but it looks like the musicians are more into the song than the women singing. Morbid curiosity got the better of me and I just couldn't hit the stop button. It's definitely something I wouldn't normally listen to, but it wasn't actually bad.
The Howling - I'm highlighting this one because of the group, it's probably my favorite. Never been a huge fan of female singers. I usually like higher pitched vocalists, but for females, that's not exactly difficult to accomplish. For a vocalist to impress me, they usually have to be damn good and bring a unique style to the table.
Linda Perry will always and forever be my favorite female vocalist

For me, with Sharon den Adel, it's how full, clear and emotive her voice is that gets me every time. Even when the song is kinda "eh" to me overall, her voice pulls through and makes it listenable.
"If you just step away for a sec you will clearly see all the pot holes in the road, and the cash shop selling asphalt..." - Mimzel on F2P/Cash Shops
although i used to jam out to metallica alot when i was in high school they slowly over time lost their coolness to me. a great part of it has to do with them getting old and mainstreaming their sound to be more radio friendly. plus the musicanship and overall songwriting quality went way downhill during and after the black album. to be blunt they sold out for the money
nonetheless master of puppets is one of the greatest metal albums of all time. it was written in a way to resemble the flow of an opera and classical symphonies.
i like orion best because its a beautiful instrumental and you don't have to hear james hetfeilds horrible voice (imo)
this next one is not for the weak of heart, the video is sorta graphic in its depictions of real war footage
now here is a band that didn't sell out with age. hell if anything they are more agressive and more vulgar now than in the eighties. this song is off of the album diabolus in musica. not a much talked about album by slayer fans but i think its one of the best. definately top 3 for me.
the struggle to free myself from restraints becomes my very shackles
now, i had this idea: if you ever happen to comment on a music (like i do), rate it. So we put our tastes in perspective for others. I like music A and music B, i think they both are good but music A is 8/10 and music B is 6/10. Both are good for me, but A makes my ears more happy than music B.
That is one reason, other is it saves you alot of text. I.E instead of righting a whole text about the song (like i do) you can simply say "music A" : 6/10 . I will still make my comments, but if i dont have much time i might just login real quick and make my rate on those songs.
You can, for example, rate all the songs, but when you like one so much, you comment on it.
So, its faster, it doesnt steal you much time (as if you would write a wall of text), more users will read your post (you prefer to read a wall of text, or a rating?).
It´s just an idea, and we dont loose anything by trying, so lets do it.
Kittie - Safe 7/10
Mother machine gun - Mushroomhead 7/10
Your "New mushroomhead" link wasnt available anymore, so i typed on youtube "new mushroomhead" and i got this: Mushroomhead - Harvest the garden 8.5/10 I dont actually know if that is the new mushroomhead or not but it happens to be one of my favorite songs (on metal category). In the beggining of the song, it almost seems like we are on a tribe or something. Then that guitar comes plus the disk spinning thing. They all go well, imo.
It´s a out of the box metal song (at least for what ive heard so far). If i had to pick between the new and the old mushroomhead based on that 2 songs, i would defiantly pick the new.
"Orange Crush - Yeah, you're right. I think you mean Agent Orange? A cancer-causing herbicide used in Vietnam. That's their play on words."
Apocalyptica - Bittersweet 9/10 Thanks you reposted it, great great music. Untill now the only music i knew about this band was "path" wich is a 10/10 (imo) by many reasons. Now i really am willing to meet more of their work.
Globus - Europa 9/10 I started by giving this a 8, then i played again and tought about 8.5, but i think this really deserves the 9. It has that epic touch attached to it.
The faint - Sealed human 7/10
Tool - Intension 7.5/10
Click Click - Red 7/10
Within Temptation - The howling 7.5/10 Its a good song, but not his (the band) best work (IMO). Ah and spellborn(TCoS), one of my favorite mmorpg´s.
Stolen babies - Push button 7.5/10
Lacuna coil - I like it 8/10 I like it, seriously. It has something the other 2 didnt have. Also, they send us a positive energy, specially with that video. Has some really hilarious parts.
The gathering - Strange machines 6/10 Its not a bad song, but it doesnt pull the trigger for me. Maybe its because my tastes are not quite good, or simply because i dont know to appreciate this kind of songs yet (metal, rock, etc). Ye, im still a newb metalhead.
Sa ding ding 7/10 I did actually enjoy it. 7/10 mainly because of the instruments used. I dont know why, but i happen to like chinese instruments very much (thanks karaté kid). Also, very relaxing song.
Metallica - Orion 9/10 Dawm powerfull. Dawm good song. Just have a doubt, on the title it says "Remastered & extended" version, what does that really mean? they change alot from the original or?
Slayer - Bitter piece 9/10 Same as above.Defiantly one of the few metal songs i will listen to. Honestly thanks for sharing it.
Well, actually thanks to all of you for sharing your tastes
Samuel Barber - Adagio for strings Brilliant. Really brilliant. I would be a happy man if i had the privilege to listen to this live. Also, you may be familiar with this song from the cover made by tiesto ("http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EaE0_gQLw0") wich is excellent too.
"If you think knowledge is expensive, try ignorance" Derek bog, President of Harvard university
Lets keep sharing "our" music, and hopefully be more musically open minded. It´s a process in wich we all can participate, and its really interesting to watch.
"remastered and extended" simply means the sound has been cleaned up a little. the extended part only means that the song was lengthened from its originally recorded length. "orion" came off of one of my most favorite metallica albums of all-time, "master of puppets." it came out in 1986 when studio recording equipment was still analog. it was also the last album cliff burton would ever be apart of. he died in a bus accident while on tour for the mentioned album. "orion" was also written by him. his bass playing style was totally different from jason newsted's. cliff was all about the distorted riffs. he also played with his fingers. jason's playstyle was more smooth, used a bass pick, and i don't think either guy was better than the other. some of jason's solos hinted at a jazz influence, IMO.
i have no idea sinizen has been around. i've seen some live videos of them playing in the late 90's/early 00's. i can hear the sublime influences in their music. i think they're from the same general area sublime came from.
the veragroove are some good dudes. my brother went to high school with 3 of the 4 band members, and i have become somewhat good friends with their bassist, corey. in my opinion, they're the only worthwhile band in the entire phoenix metro area. their style of music is described as desert-reggae-rock. watching their video makes me miss the dry desert of arizona, and the mostly sunny days throughout the year.

"orion" by metallica
although i used to jam out to metallica alot when i was in high school they slowly over time lost their coolness to me. a great part of it has to do with them getting old and mainstreaming their sound to be more radio friendly. plus the musicanship and overall songwriting quality went way downhill during and after the black album. to be blunt they sold out for the money
nonetheless master of puppets is one of the greatest metal albums of all time. it was written in a way to resemble the flow of an opera and classical symphonies.
i like orion best because its a beautiful instrumental and you don't have to hear james hetfeilds horrible voice (imo)
this next one is not for the weak of heart, the video is sorta graphic in its depictions of real war footage

"bitter peace" by slayer
now here is a band that didn't sell out with age. hell if anything they are more agressive and more vulgar now than in the eighties. this song is off of the album diabolus in musica. not a much talked about album by slayer fans but i think its one of the best. definately top 3 for me.
the struggle to free myself from restraints becomes my very shackles
sorry for my inactivity, but ive been really busy
now, i had this idea: if you ever happen to comment on a music (like i do), rate it.
Yes, i think that is it. Yesterday i went to a photography exposition (called world press photo "http://www.worldpressphoto.org/index.php?option=com_calendar&task=view&catid=95&selectedItem=43&Itemid=154#43") and there was a photo of a teenager that was born with genetic problems due to "agent orange".
You gave me, now i give you:

Ray charles - Whay i´d say Just watched the Ray Charles film and tought about sharing some quality music (IMO???).

"orion" was also written by him. his bass playing style was totally different from jason newsted's. cliff was all about the distorted riffs. he also played with his fingers. jason's playstyle was more smooth, used a bass pick, and i don't think either guy was better than the other. some of jason's solos hinted at a jazz influence, IMO.
sinizen: take it easy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WalPwmoAhY
i have no idea sinizen has been around. i've seen some live videos of them playing in the late 90's/early 00's. i can hear the sublime influences in their music. i think they're from the same general area sublime came from.
another worthy mention is this band-
the veragroove: hand in hand
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woAwGa4Gawc
the veragroove are some good dudes. my brother went to high school with 3 of the 4 band members, and i have become somewhat good friends with their bassist, corey. in my opinion, they're the only worthwhile band in the entire phoenix metro area. their style of music is described as desert-reggae-rock. watching their video makes me miss the dry desert of arizona, and the mostly sunny days throughout the year.

"earthcrosser" by veruca salt
one of my favorite alternative bands from the 90's
edited for spelling. one of these day i'll spell "from" correctly
the struggle to free myself from restraints becomes my very shackles
Well since we are rating things now I feel the need to preempt my rating with an explaination.
On a scale from 1-10, to me 1 is aweful, 10 is really good, 5 is average, not 7 like Gamespot
Also keep in mind the rating is not how talented I think the artist is but how much I like it.
Ray Charles - What'd I Say - The beginning of this song always reminds me of the Doors.
5/10
Samul Barber - Adagio for Strings
6/10
Sinizen - Take it Easy - They do sound a lot like Sublime
5/10
Veragroove - Hand in Hand - To be fair though I don't really like reggae style
4/10
Vecruca Salt - Earthcrosser
7/10
Heres a grunge band from the 90s that I think should have been bigger but I am glade that they weren't an my rating.
Tad - Grease Box 8/10
All men think they're fascinating. In my case, it's justified
