LF an mmo for the summer..

demikujademikuja Member Posts: 29

Currently looking for an mmo, can't find one that can keep me interested for longer than a few hours atm.. Need something for the summer and hopefully last until Diablo 3/Guild War 2 comes out.

MMOs that I have tried/played through already/Don't like: Cabal Online, lotro, forsaken world, perfect world, Jaded Dynasty, Allod Online, Vindictus, Rift, WoW, 2moons, world of kung fu, pristontale, flyff, conqueronline, DDO, Aion, AoC, Guild Wars,  anything thats sci-fi..

I am looking for something that is a blend of Aion, Allod Online, WoW and Rift with some nice large open world to explore. I really enjoyed Aion and Allod's flexibility in regards to questing, world exploring, etc. These two games were able to keep me occupied for long times. I can't quite describe the difference between Aion/Allod online questing but I enjoy it very much, on the other hand I hated questing in anything perfect world entertainment related. I am very very big on PvE and I can tolerate open world PvP like the ones in Aion/Allod.

(Why am I not playing Aion/Allod right now? Aion just bored me out after a long time and Allod....well it was very nice until they went p2w to the extreme....will not put up with that amount of p2w-ness)

Extras to look for in game recommendations:

- Would be nice if its f2p (Don't mind cash shop unless it is REALLY making the game a p2w game, a minor degree of p2w is ok)

-Playable throughout the world (No IP blocks for countries outside of a certain country) because I travel around quite frequently

-Preferred Western themes

-Again, no sci-fi please, thanks

-Graphics similar to Allod is cool, anything better is cool as well

I know I am being picky but I have looked for months without finding one that suits me....maybe its time for me to quit the MMO genre and carry on with rl? (I refuse to quit just yet!!)

I truely have no suggestions for you other then stop playing MMO's until GW2 comes out.

    Playing: PO, EVE
    Waiting for: WoD
Favourite MMOs: VG, EVE, FE and DDO
Any person who expresses rage and loathing for an MMO is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae.

Maybe I should do what you suggests...I seriously was thinking about trying out EQ2 just now because if I am not mistaken there is a f2p verison of the game?

And then the Sony hacking issue came into my mind...I assume you can't access the game at the moment?

It seems your mmo gaming experience is about 3d theme parks. Try to add some variety in your game play. Try sandboxes or side scrolling cutie mmos out there. You will be playing diablo 3 and Guild Wars 2. That means you will be playing a 3d theme park game when Guild Wars 2 come out. There is a stickied list of games above. Take a look at them and try other types of mmorpgs.

Ah I missed this on the list I gave, but I have had experience in Maple Story, and I was a very big time Wonderking player and very involved in crafting. I am sort of bored of side scrolling MMOs now as well..

What about Aika? It's a short download so you can try it or something. The real PvP fun starts at later levels though ( after about 3-5 days of playing).

I was about to say "just suggest the game in your sig to him", but I guess the servers are still offline?
Because "I am looking for something that is a blend of Aion, Allod Online, WoW and Rift with some nice large open world to explore" would fit to Vanguard.

Play GW2 if it comes out in the summer.
