im a starwars fan too.Just wonderin who do you think is geekier ,the star wars fans or the star trek fans?

StarWars fans I think are classified the cool kids (guys) and the Startek fans.. Different
Lol, after attending a few fan fests from both titles, I can say we may be talking about 'gradients' of geekiness. I think Star Trek attracts the tech-science geeks, while Star Wars attracts the more fantasy type geeks.

Star Trek Fan- Learns alien languages. Buys multiple Spock costumes. Attends conventions. Plants homemade thermite on Star Wares fans' cars.

because there are tons and tons of star wars fans, but your geeky star trek obsessed people only come once in a while.

I get the feeling Star Trek fans are generally more intelligent and might actually have a life. Give the nerds waiting in line at a Star Wars opening an IQ test and the ones at a Star Trek opening and I'd bet on the Trek'ers. It's probably because the Star Trek fans I think are a bit older and not as many young wierdos are into Star Trek like the Star Wars kids.
Nerd wise, both are equal.
(Note: This is just as an average, I know most of you MMORPG.com members/Star Wars fans are exceptions!)

Well, also have to consider Star Wars fans are much more mainstream these days... you take a Trekkie and they're generally much older nowadays. There hasn't been much in the way of Star Trek for a while, and I don't think Voyager fans are considered "true" Trekkies

Well see, there is a difference between actual Star Wars fans and then the people who pretend to get it. So many people like Star Wars, that I know alot of people who try and be cool by liking it:). Actual fans though, I still think they are less nerdy. Only good guys like Star Trek, but alot of the Star Wars fans are fans of the Dark Side, which inherently makes them cooler.
*Shrug*, and I can talk to girls about Star Wars and still get some [very easily] (and sometimes theyll say things like oh ewoks are cool even though they really dont get it)... but if I said Star Trek holy crud
. Even I'd have a hard time getting some after having mentioned Star Trek being cool.

But back on topic, I think Star Trek fans are MUCH geekier. Star Wars fans could care more about storyline than how many fluxtator ion dual razor cannon engines on the Enterprise (I pulled that entire statement out of my ass). Star Wars fans would be more likely to know the first Sith Lord, more politics and fantasy based about their world, where as Star Trek fans care about ships and engines and such.
