SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

T3Fun.com is now offering closed beta keys to North American and European Hellgate fans. Keys are given to those signing up for an account on the Hanbitsoft gaming portal. The closed beta is scheduled to begin for North American and Europe in early June.

Following the recent news of Hellgate’s return, T3 Entertainment today announced that Closed Beta keys for the highly anticipated game are now available to North American and European audiences. Key holders will receive an exclusive glimpse into the free-to-play game - experiencing its dark fantasy, action and role-playing style - all in preparation for the Closed Beta test running from June 3-5, 2011. In addition, brand new Hellgate wallpapers have been released and can be accessed by following the link included below.

Developed by T3 Entertainment and published by HanbitSoft, the new and enhanced Hellgate, formerly known as Hellgate: London and including the Hellgate: Tokyo expansion, will reopen its gates to players who crave life and death encounters. Available in both third person and first person perspective, this dark world of futuristic demons utilizes random maps and monster inventions during gameplay. Hellgate also offers a choice for players to join other parties in multiplayer mode, or go it alone in a solo campaign - if they dare...

Closed beta is only going to run for two days?

    That doesn't inspire confidence.

The Game has been out for like 3 years. A long closed beta isn`t needed.

P.S. I think you need to be lvl 55 to access Tokyo.

Am I missing something here in this process?

I followed the link, got a beta key, then created an account. Ok, now I am waiting for an email confirmation. I cannot add the key to my account until I confirm my email. Hmm...hours go by, no email. Ok, back to the site, find the page where it says "resend confirmation". All right.  I click the "resend" button but red text says "confirm email address", even though it's not supposed to since I am not entering a NEW email address. Umm...okay, anyway, going along with it when I try to confirm email address it says "[email] is unavailable". Yeah, I know it's unavailable because I already entered it into this account so it's taken. This is stupid.

So I am unable to generate a confirmation email. I guess I'll have to try again with another account. Did anyone else have this problem?

Sorry , hellgate your about 5 years late..... no one cares anymore.

I care!  I can't wait to jump back into Hellgate again!

This CBT is just to stress test the servers before open beta.  The game isn't in a development cycle, its been out for years.  If you didn't get it I wouldn't sweat it.  Open beta will be really soon.

My hotmail worked fine as well.

I used my ISP (rcn.com) didn't work. Made a gmail and it worked. But why hotmail works for some and not others is strange.

so glad to see this return.  this game didn't fail because it was a bad game, it failed because of an ill concieved subscription model.  tack on a mincrotransaction system & this could actually work.  too bad I can't call up my old toons.  oh well, starting over can be fun too

I have been playing hellgate since the Hellgate London Beta days.  I still find myself playing the SP version at least once a week if not more.  Looking forward to playing online again.

I used a hotmail account and signed up on T3 website, then logged into HGL website and "applied". Was told I was in the closed beta but never received a key.

yeah, I got the same thing, I'm hoping that it just didn't bother to post the key since it was applied directly to the account.  instead of the key request popup, it now says "Your Courage has Been Noted.  You are chosen to enter the gates of hell"  not as direct as a confirmation screen but it seems pretty clear

If you see 'Your courage has been noted' then your account is approved for closed beta.  You don't need a key or anything.

Got an email w/ the client download link this AM, am downloading it now but it is very slow.  at the current rate I'll be too late to play the beta by several months
