The 45 days free for old accounts definitely made me come back to try it, but I think I'll probably resub as soon as the 45 days are up.

I am having a great time playing this game again, and the improvements since I left help a lot (namely the research so you can get master spells via research instead of HAVING to buy them)

And coming back helps me to realize that Shadowknight is by far the best class I've ever played in an mmo (well I think it is tied with Anarchy Online's shade class).

Anyone else who has been enticed back by the free 45 days having as much fun?

My god has horns.... nah, I don't think he is real either.

Have you ever tried the classes in Vanguard?

Always thought they were extremely well done.

I've been playing casually with my 45 days free. I can't remember why I let my sub expire before, and would sub again if it wasn't for my devotion to EVE atm.

I keep telling myself that I need to get back to this game. such a big world. so much to explore and collect and do. very good stuff. Unfortunately I am still having fun with Rift and EVE which i have been playing for the last few months regularly and this last week and next has been bonus exp in Aion which has also been a blast having greatly improved in the last year or so. So many good games right now. It is actually hard to decide which one to spend time with. But that is a good problem to have.

    All die, so die well.

No I've never played VG past level 2, and joining it now when it is on its deathbed seems to be a waste of time.

And I already got a bit bored with Rift, and AO is damn near dead, so EQ2 seemed like a fine fit :D

Vanguard is a great game and I wouldn't go so far as to say "deathbed" but more like "stagnant". SOE is simply not gonna put anymore money / time into it, so ... thats life.

I'll agree with you OP, loving being back in Norrath (doesn't mean I don't long for Telon, but what's a girl to do? :( ). Found myself a good guild the other day and I was so excited that the Ratonga's were becoming Neutral so that I could create a Mystic without having to betray. :P

    It's been a fun return.

Welp... still having fun.. a bit too much, already dropped $40 in the cash shop lmao.

Oh well, Glad I found a cool place to hang around again, and ne where i'm moderately established, so I can take in a lot of the new content soon.

Edit: actually just realized I've dropped $50, not $40 :P

I'm also back for another try. I was on when it launched until I got hooked on WOW. Went back briefly in 2007 but quit since the last of my friends left. After massive WOW burnout from WOTLK raiding and not being impressed with Cata raiding, I decided to give RIFT a try. RIFT is nice and I may stick with it, but the 45 free days made me want to give EQ2 one more try.

I'm glad I did. I see there have been considerable Live server mergers so Crushbone is pretty well populated, as well as AB, although I am told some of the other servers are underpopulated. The game's graphics hold up well despite being 6 years old and there's no end of content. I've heard Qeynos and Freeport are getting overhauls soon (much like old world Azeroth did in Cata) which sound good but I fear it may mean the cities will be much smaller but at least no zoning.

I've mixed feelings on the Station Cash thing. I've not spent any money on it yet since I don't feel the need. But it's certainly no worse than plopping down $10-$25 in WOW for vanity pets and mounts.

The guild halls have emptied the cities a bit, which I don't care for and the 1-9 chat is a nightmare. But the game is a nice change from the WOW scene.

Was wondering what server you chose? 1-9 is basically Barrens Chat on Antonia Bayle. You either get really good, constructive conversations or you get the people who are just miserable in their lives, whining about everything and making smarta$$ comments to everyone who comes along. What can ya do? I'd say just turn it off if it's bugging you, or block the a$$hats.

If you're on Antonia Bayle, I recommend finding yourself a good guild (I'm in Medieval Syndicate - they're a nice bunch of people, though they don't focus much on raiding if thats your thing) that has a lot of the qualities you're looking for. It may make you forget about 1-9 all together if you've got good conversation going in guild chat instead.

Station Cash isn't too bad. Most everything on there is cosmetic. The mounts do have some stat increasers, but they're not much, thankfully. I think its basically +5 to the stats. I own a few, but mainly because they just got done a triple cash weekend and so I bought $30 worth of SC and got a massive amount in return. Walmart +500SC ftw!

I feel ya on the Guild Hall thing, I also feel similarly to "fast travel". It certainly did change things for the worse in the cities, but you kind of forget about it after awhile. The good news is, I've seen a ton of people everywhere I've gone, both in the starting zones when I started my new "Good" Ratonga and out in Antonica while I've been doing all the quests for AA. I see lots of people.

I have to say, I'm really glad they did this 45 day free thing. I'm not sure I would have come back (only been gone three months this time) this quickly, but I'm really glad I did. Even though its only been three months, I didn't stick it out very long last time either. I think I'm having more fun this time because I'm finally trying out a class that I like (mystic).

    Anyhow, happy romping through Norrath!

Hopefully you ask yourself why did they give you 45 days?

Because your Personal Data was hacked.

    Sony PS Hacked

    Sony Online Games Hacked

    Sony Entertainment Hacked

All were done on different dates and thus shows they dont know what they are doing or they simply didn't care for their base to pay consultants prior to the hack to maybe be on top of it enough to possibly prevent the hack.  But ohh well their data which enough to apply for credit in someones name will not fully be know for years.  So be careful and if you need to play this game, buy time cards instead of putting your credit card in and any real personal data.

Just good simple advice from someone who lost alot in this hack.

I have revisited EQ2 several times over the years and kind of miss it sometimes, if it is true that SOE will be dropping the price on the station access to 19.99 i will be very tempted to go for it because i have all 8 of those games and most of their expansions..

    Playing GW2..
