Okay so when i first looked at this game i saw the ability to be good and evil, so naturally i was interested.
The install and registration went well, as per normal of any game.
When getting into the game, you are promoted with a fly by overview of the starting area.
Getting into the game is rather easy if you've played almost any other MMO before. WASD for movement right mouse button to look around that sort of thing.
The biggest thing you'll notice right away is the general feel of the game. It feels Asian with a bit of western look thrown in. The quests are pretty standard fare with what we've seen, go kill X, bring back Y deliver Z.
The biggest thing that may attract players are two things. The first is that the main scenario quest branches off when getting to the first boss in the bat cave (yes i know the DC reference, not sure it was intentional) as that choice decides which side you are on.
To that effect, your character has a disposition bar (akin to the alignment bar in some other games). This to me is the coolest feature of the game.
Second is the ability to fly. We are getting to see this more and more in games but this is the only one that feels like your playing a F2P version of Aion (yes i tried Aion for as long as the buddy key would allow)
However are these two features enough?
Well I've showered you with what is good, lets go with what is meh
First off the combat is pretty much what you expect. Target a mob, hit auto attack, use a skill every now and then.
Second the classes are just that classes, you have tank, range, and magic. These can be customized at 20 to point more towards offensive or defensive and i think your disposition is also suppose to affect it, but the difference at least at 32 weren't that much.
The graphics aren't great but they aren't bad either, it's possible to live with the graphics just fine.
The UI is pretty standard flare, nothing good nothing bad, like i stated if you've played a fair amount of MMOs this will take you about 5 mins to find everything.
So now i've given you some good and some meh, here comes the bad.
First off the quests are really standard. You'll basically be doing the same thing with different mobs over and over again. After a while unless it's the main scenario quests where you need to read to make a choice, your going to be skipping it.
This second one is noticeable right off, the game has bugs, quite a few of them. Now granted most of them have been fixed but some of the important stuff like the main scenario quest being broken and text misallignments during the fly by at the beginning just make it lose some feel of polish.
Third, any kind of flight power is limited to 5 mins, this would be fine if the CD for such devices where only a few second, but your up in the air for 5 mins, down on the ground for 5 mins. This again would be fine if that was limited to the booster (your temporary wings) but this is also true of any flight, including the wings that are suppose to be permanent in game.
Finally, after a while of doing quests you are going to need better gear which usually results in you having to run the same dungeon about 30-50 times to try and get your gear to drop.
To conclude, if your looking for a game to pass the time and just want to kill things and not too worried about how great the game is, give War of Angles a try. If your looking for your next great game with tons of polish, you might want to keep looking.
I give this game a 6/10

Nice objective review.
One question: can you stay neutral throughout the game?
Better to be crazy, provided you know what sane is...
You can be neutral in the game but that will leave you out of the war later in the game (which hasn't be implemented yet).
Also one thing i forgot to touch on was guilds.
When you make the guild in game you gotta make 1 of 3 choices regarding disposition. Either Evil, neutral, good. These i think change the titles of the rank in guild but it also does something else.
If your a good guild, you can't, and i mean this by saying that it restricts you from inviting anyone even remotely evil (even by 1 point) and the vice versa is true. The only side that can invite everyone is neutral but they are restricted from participating in the war at the end.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
Nice review. I actually installed the game thinking it looked interesting. However, I didn't even do the starting quest because something about it just didn't "feel" right.
I'd explain that more if I could...
Plus, I didn't think the graphics looked anywhere close to the way they looked in the screenies. (not talking quality here, I realize screens will almost always look better, it just looks different)
Anyway, your very non biased review reminded me that the game still "seems" interesting. I think i'll put a little more time into it, I want to see what its like to stay neutral throughout. The big war at the end sounds like endless pvp endgame, which I don't care for anyway.
Thanks for the compliments on the review guys. It's much appreciated.

I feel your 6/10 score is generous. Personally I score it more of a 4/10, I found the game down right unenjoyable. The graphics are passable, they are better than some of the older MMO's out there but eye candy doesn't make up for lack of innovation and fun. It just felt like "I've done all of this before, but in a much better game"...
I don't play a whole lot of F2P MMO's myself, I do own GW, DDO and LOTRO and from a F2P standpoint all of these are much better than WoA. Again this is just my opinion.
I don't know, maybe I'm leaning more toward the crowd that is trying to tell developers "Push the Envelope" or when you put the plate in front of us we will be the ones doing the pushing, pushing the plate away. There are a lot of gamers out there that are getting tired of game makers giving us ONLY a change of scenery wrapped up inside the same ole game mechanics. Many of us are to to the point with these game studios that we are starting to vote with our dollars and are saying " You damn well better innovate! If you don't do something new, then why should we stop playing the old MMORPG that already has/does what your NEW release has/does?!" (I voted with my dollars and quit Aion, never bought WAR, CO, STO, AOC, nor FFXIV)
As most review numbers vary, what my 6 is may in fact be your 4.
This is how i rate games
10-you just made the greatest MMo of all time (akin to either being flawless or near to it)
9-This game is great.
8. This game is good
7. This game is okay.
6. This game is decent
5. This game is equal to every other game i've played.
4. This game is bad.
3. This game is terrible.
2. This game is not really done or has too many flaws.
1. Did you even try?
My scales tend to lean towards the medium with heavy pushes away form the ends (10 and 1), it's really hard to get these two totals for me as 1 usually just fails outright and 10 is dang near impossible to make.
To get a 10 you need to have a game where there is no way to improve it.
Most MMOs will get a 6 or a 7 depending while some of the better ones get a 7 and maybe an 8. Most of the best ones will get the 9 spot.

If you could look at it now, this game's review would have fallen straight down to a 1. Neowiz apparently hasn't realized that they're losing more people than they're getting.
Hey, good post. I agree 100%. I'm voting with my dollars as well. Just bought FFXI and after finding out it would not accept my credit card, and due to the very misleading error message, I had to search all over the net to find out what it really meant... and, in short, I was not happy with what I found out, and will be returning the game to the store.
I could not get my card "Verified by Visa", over the phone, as 2 different customer support reps for my CC (my bank) never even heard of this security service, and the only way to do it was over the web, and you need to enter just about every secret password, personal information, etc, just to be able to sign up for it. Uhm, no thanks, especially as I was redirected to a web site called "53.com", which I think is legit (I checked) but I still don't want to put all that info into ANY web site, especially a redirect off the main visa.com web site. Doing so would be insanely stupid in this day and age of trojans, keyloggers, hacked web sites, web site forgeries, scams in general, etc. Again, no thanks. Sorry Square Enix, but you won't be getting any of my money. Thanks for making it so difficult to actually give you my money.
Just a side note-- 53.com is the site for Fifth Third bank which is pretty big in Michigan. Have an account there myself. Never heard of it until I moved there ~5 months ago though. Why on earth you'd be directed there to pay for an MMO is beyond me though...
I used to play FFXI a couple of years ago and my CC worked fine. A few months ago I tried to resub to give it another go and I had the same CC issues that you are having. My bank told me that it wasn't on their end and SE said it wasn't on theirs. I finally gave up and will not go back. It's a shame too...I really like FFXI.
That's great, except this is War of Angels we're discussing in this thread. Not FFXI or any other game.
im generous enough to score this 2/10
Lol I am a Final Fantasy fans however I felt like don't like it when it s created for online games. and yeah this is War of angels General Discussion and this game really needs more prmotion to attract more players
What it needs, is to just be shut down once and for all. This game was dead right from the start when it went live on December 15th.
