That's not an MMORPG nor a game.
It is a game, in as much as any kind of simulation game is a game. As for being an MMO, neither is WoW. Fortunately, the OP was not specific.

Maybe he means active players as in ppl who actively and constructively contribute to game and community... that would be games like EvE and Lotro I think... perhaps darkfall and such games. Surely not WoW haha =P (Yes yes it has 10mil ppl playing it, it must be the best game in every area!)
Nobody can possibly meet the "actively and constructively contribute to game and community" as WoW players do, what have you been smoking today? WoW has over 12 million active players, can you possibly guess how many are on at a time on a single server? Check out the forums for me real quick, will ya?

Now lets continue. Having played WoW on and off for 6years+ and many other games parallell with WoW like Lotro, WAR, EvE, Rift, Aion etc it is my opinion that WoW official forums are full of whine and little else. WoW does also not promote ingame community. Try games like Eve and even Darkfall and you'll see a difference. I am not talking about subscription numbers here, just to make what is already clear even clearer.
