So I read a project called "Pottermore" is supposed to be in the works with announcements on what exactly it is to be made on you tube on Thursday (6/23). It's supposed to be a blend of WoW with real life activity?? Anyone know anything about this??

This has been debunked by a Rowling rep to the LA Times. It will not be a "graphic game", a treasure hunt, or a new book.
It's going to be a new social networking site or an inaccurate encyclopedia. Yeah that's right everybody. People are going to bed right now feeling that Santa Claus is coming down the chimney, they have been waiting with bated breath, and tomorrow they are going to wake up to a nice, steamy, big ol' shit sandwich.
People are going to take the day off tomorrow, all excited, thinking that a new book or mmo is going to be announced. It's actually kind of evil.
Edit: You can't even mention any of this on the Harry Potter fansites without getting threatened and pressured by moderators. The webmasters were all let in on this "perfect", great, expansive project that is just so mind blowingly awesome but they must keep secret. People are starting to figure out that something is seriously wrong through process of elimination, using what the reps have said. CoS has always been the worst about censoring conversations and vague threats. I'd have to say that there are more conversations about Harry Potter on this mmorpg website than there are on any actual fucking fansite.

It's a fucking online store to purchase the ebooks of Harry Potter. Hell, this an announcement of an announcement of an online store, IN OCTOBER. They also, of course, want you to hand over your email address. The 'content' is essentially what was on her previous website. It's going to be some doodles, some character trivia/bios, and stupid crap like a sorting hat.
This is several iotas worse than what I thought it was going to be, another social website like facebook. Nah, its A STORE.

I'm tradmarking the term "Pottymore" just in case.
Sounds like it's more than just an online store. She said there will be 18,000 words of new material at launch, and she will be adding more. Still not sure what it is exactly... Blog? MUD? Text adventure? Obviously it's not an MMO, but it's intriguing for Harry Potter fans.
Well that goes that idea! I was hoping a Potter-like mmo would be out. More so...erm...."grown" than Wizard 101.
Would be kinda cool as graphical MMO, eh?
No it is not suppose to be a mmorpg
it is suppose to be the other place you cna watch emails and steam the videos for prices and they will have have some small games on it.

The Harry Potter MMO, you need not suck at Quiddich alone anymore! Post how bad you are on Facebook and play against others across the Internet...
Oh wait. It's a bookstore. Well, that's a little less embarassing. ξ
