New windows update seems to have messed up something.,.

NagelFireNagelFire Member Posts: 409

So I installed the windows updates last night, and when I turned on my comp this morning, it had a pretty big problem..

WHenever I try to do anything (I can open the interent, and log into xfire,) but when I try to do something like open steam, or give a program permission to use the internet or something, the whole ocmputer crashes.  Like, xfire will pop up and ask for permission to use the internet, ill say yes, comp crash.

It kinda seems like whenever I use ANY system resources, ir crashes.

I already tried a system restore, and that didnt help.

Any other ideas

What type of crash is it?  A blue screen of death doesn't necessarily have the same cause as the computer abruptly turning itself off.

Did  you install Microsoft Internet Explorer 9? If so, uninstall it. I had it and everything ran horrendously slow. Went to "remove a program" in Windows 7 and uninstalled IE9. Noticed a definite improvement.

I actually fixed it.  I did another system restore then reinstalled all updates, and then I turned off my overclocks.  Works now.

    Thanks for the suggestions though.

on average you have to install update in the order ms auto select them dont select all or you have various issue!as for the ie9 being slow the person is wrong it isnt slow at all been using it since the offiacial release(was a firefox user before but ie9 is just plain better!

there is a learning curve tho,you do have to install various stuff, but if you worked with firefox ie9  will be more of the same but going at it differently!yes noscript in firefox is better then ms solution but ms and various programmer are blurring ther line fast!
