i've made myself a Ritualist, plan on running the intro tutorials and then heading back to post-searing Ascalon.

my current question is this: for HoM rewards are these account achievements, or must they be achieved by a single character playing through all of the campaigns and such?

on a side note:

in the meantime you can't imagine the issues i'm having with juggling accounts and logins. i used to own GW w/o a Master NCsoft account. i discovered that it was simply cheaper to purchase the trilogy + EotN. so i started fresh, created my first NCsoft Master Account. I thought that would make things easier, but currently i think its caused even more confusion on my part.

anyways, i did not realize you had to remember your character's full name, first and last, in order to login. i am finding the constant security checks on my ip addy (from the looks of the ip's it seems my ISP is constantly changing up my external IP), the slow response of customer service, and the lack of clarity in some places to be more confusing than should be necessary and frankly quite frustrating. i haven't been able to login into either account, despite submitting tickets, in over 5 days now.

blah.

    HoM achievements are account based.

So, you've just made an ritualist character and you can't remember its name so you can login?

NCSoft Master account can be tricky yes. WHen you make it, make sure you write down all your security questions, password and username, because if your IP changes, you will be asked to answer security questions when you login to the ncsoft website  (frustrating but a good security if u ask me). But you shouldnt have any issues with login to GW game....

Can you explain your problem further?

well primarily its just been largely confusing for me how the account system for ncsoft/arena.net and their games are set up.

i will agree the security measures are high, but they are beginning to frustrate more than protect, imo.

secondly, i can't login to GW b/c i failed to realize that i needed both the first and last name of a character. i assumed for some odd reason, perhaps because surnames in most mmo's are fluff, that i only needed to remember one of my character's first names, not his surname.

and while customer service has certainly been patient with me, its taking a bit longer than i would expect to simply look up my account, check the only character ive made for his last name and then give it to me so i can login. especially since i have every other security question they need answered, including activation keys.

mostly, i realize now, im just venting my frustration at their system. its been a rough coupla weeks IRL and ive been waiting to escape for a bit with GW, only to find myself screwing up by not fully understanding all of their in's and out's.

thanks for the reply and offer to help more by asking me to be more specific. i feel i have probably just ranted a bit, but perhaps you can begin to understand my frustration arising from the lack of clarity concerning how accounts work and why its taking so long when i have all my info straight except for my character's last name.

feel free to ask more pointed questions.

I had not logged in to GW for a couple of years and when i did a few months ago i had the same problem, i could not remember my characters last names and that security feature wasnt in there then so i didnt write down character names..

So i contacted support made a ticket and answered some questions and somewhere within 7 days after several email and open ticket contacts they give me one of my characters last names and i logged right in..

I had lost my original disk and key with it and was surprised that they actually helped me, be patient friend they will get you back in there but they most certainly want to make sure its you they are providing the info too..

    Playing GW2..

This is exactly what happened to me as well and it took less than a week for them to get me logged in again.  That's without having any of my old registration information and I couldn't even recall the email address I used.  But they came through.  Yes, there are a lot of security hoops to jump through, but you do get used to them and will probably come to appreciate having them.

    Good luck.

I use to have the problem with my ncsoft master account. I couldnt remmber the secret asnwers. I sent an email and they replied within 3 days. We exchanged several emails in the next 2 days, and they reset my passwords and sent me new ones. You should wait a bit longer, they will reply to you, I think they don't work saturdays and sundays.

In the meantime there's a way to try to recall your characters name using this:

Write your character name here until you get it right and be able to see how many HoM points you have.
