It has nothing to do with my screen, my graphics, the game graphics, or the game engine.....
Animation =/= graphics quality
Color Palette =/= graphics quality
The animations look stiff......this is supposed to be a AAA MMO released in 2011, and Ive seen more fluid animation in games from 7 years ago
The Colors looks TOO cartoony, wow at least had style with its color usage, even if it looked like a toon it felt real, and the colors werent too bright..... This video has almost no shadows, and what seems like horrible shading. Also all the colors are so damn bright.....
Again Im not talking about graphics or mechanics (im still gonna try this game out for at least a month) just the animations and color usage looks childish....something an amateur would of done.
Looks good to me, but then again, I'm not expecting a single player game with all the resources the code can bring to bear that an MMO cannot. Some of you really are nit picky and what ever happened to all of the hoopla from the past about game play being a hell of a lot more important than graphics and animations and color schemes? Hey, anything to put down the next popular game and the masses of lemmings who love it, right?
You nailed it. Any criticism about a game is an obvious conspiracy to try and bring down the evil corporations backing it, no matter how valid.
Sarcasm aside; there's only a few things the trailer really shows off. Classes, voice acting, art style, and in-game animations. That's not a long list and *shocker* not everyone will think that every aspect of it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I think most of the people here enjoyed the trailer, but some of us noticed a few things..off about it.
I'm a great fan off movie and game trailers so I would like to say something about SWTOR trailers. I'm not talking about the game, gameplay or graphics, I'm just talking about the quality of the trailers.
I remember one of the first SWTOR trailers from 2009: E3 2009 Jedi vs. Sith Trailer. For me it is still one of the best trailers of all time, it's even better then all the STAR WARS movies together. But all the trailers that came later including this latest trailer are just simply crap. And I'm not talking about the graphics, I don't mind cartoon graphics, I'm talking about the quality of the trailer.
I don't get it. SWTOR is the largest MMO project of all time (Bioware, EA, LucasArts, a lot of money) and they can't make a good trailer? I don' like WOW and I don't play WOW but I must admit that their trailers (CATA, WOTLK) are fantastic. With so much money put into SWTOR their trailers should be much better. I just don't get it.
Maybe before launch they will shock the world with a amazing trailer, but I have my doubts.
I must say I dont like the animations too, seem to be too stiff, but on the other hand I like the graphical style overall a lot. But one thing that keeps my enthusiasm down is the utter lack of playable races. I mean we see human, green guman, red human, blind human and horned human... and that really sucks.
You also have to realize this combat isn't done at the speed that a good player will eventually get to. They are very careful to showcase each move so as to give the movie more impact. Have to say I'm not upset by it. Looking forward to release. Preordered.
I've been incredibly pumped for this game for a long while now, but I share the concern over the animations. I do hope these are not final and will be smoothed out before release. If not however, I don't think it will be a deal breaker for me if the gameplay is fun.
The animations look fine to me, especially when I consider that they are supposed to "match up" with the opponents. Nothing else really does this. WoW has very fluid animations, but no reactions from opponents other than generic ones. I think it looks fine, but not everyone has the same opinions, right?
In-game trailer looses 6-0 to in-game gameplay vids if you want to watch something to make an impression how any mmorpg actually might feel like on your machine.

Them Animations so old; Pong called its lawyer.
Them animations so old; i felt the need to help them across the street.
Them animations is so OLD; King Alfred the great said 'You are the worst witch ever" before burning them at the stake.
Seriously the launch animatiosn are ancient.
It is best for the industry the MMO throne remains an dusty empty seat never to be filled.
That Art style is so bad people in Van Goghs day would but his work as soon as use this games art as toilet paper.

WoW Beta! Nothing changed, right?! Oh wait...
In all seriousness, who knows whether it will be bad or good? That's right, nobody!

I preordered but I'm still on the fence if I should cancel or not.
As a non-Star Wars fanbot the video didn't really make me excited. Just meh. WTF @ the stiffness in the characters when performing moves :-
If it wants to go big (I'm guessing they're planning to) they need to draw in people from all over, not just starry-eyed fans.
As a fantasy fan I might cautiously jump into a sci-fi setting if only to get away temporarily from this fantasy saturated genre.

I like SWTORs stylized graphics, bit more mature then cartoonish WoW but the animation in WoW is definitely better.
Animations and graphics are "Fine". Fine. Funny word, that word "Fine".
1. (n) Obsolete
2. (v) Punish by a fee
3. (adj) Free from impurity
I laugh at the comments claiming WoW's animations to be better...
Yeah interesting word, left out a few though
fine 1 (fn)
adj. fin·er, fin·est
1. Of superior quality, skill, or appearance: a fine day; a fine writer.
6. Exhibiting careful and delicate artistry: fine china. See Synonyms at delicate.
9. Trained to the highest degree of physical efficiency: a fine racehorse.
10. Characterized by refinement or elegance.
11. Satisfactory; acceptable: Handing in your paper on Monday is fine.
Shorten the list to what i thought could be ways of defining the graphics with the word fine.
The one highlighted in red is the one i think people are most using when they are refering to the graphics.
You can find the full list here :http://www.thefreedictionary.com/fine
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
