Age of Empires has become one of the most popular RTS series over the years. Today marks the launch of Age of Empires Online, offering some classic civilizations and free to play action for all RTS fans. Garrett Fuller takes a moment to give us a quick run down on what AOE:O offers RTS fans. Check it out at sister site RTSGuru.com!

The civilizations for the game are made up of Greek, Egyptian, Celts, and Persians. As in past AOE games, players have access to lots of units to build out their civilization. Scouts, military, and villagers are essential for building up your capital city and giving you enough resources to explore and battle safely.

Been having fun with the game, even bought a Premium Civ.

Its quite fun, as for the MMO elements...it's lacking a little.  I did have loads of fun playing co-op with a friend.

I'd like to avoid buying a premium civ until the Romans come out.  Thats about my only issue with this game on launch, only 2 factions is a bit lame.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
