Oh how I dream of my villa, and my evil couch. I would give anything for Asheron's Call to be remade, even if it is only a graphics update. Yes it is cluncky when compared to wow, but a far superior game.
I recently tried Rift, but found it boring, I loved the neat things you could do in AC when you were bored, I even miss the portal storms.
DAOC2, EQ(next?), AO2, SWG2(definitely preCU,NGE), and a DDO replacement (not so much DDO2, but the mechanics, voice chat, more classes, more non-combat dungeon options, dynmaic world events like War or Rift or better yet like GW2 promises).
I keep trying new MMORPGs and am always dissapointed... I guess I just want Shadowbane with better graphics and way way fewer bugs.
I could care less about all of the rest.
forgotten characters (Ultima Online,Everquest,DAoC) Qualme (Shadowbane on Mourning) Pandamonia (Lineage 2 on Bartz) Bridgit (Soul of the Ulimate Nation) deLiber (Aika Online) Qualme (ArcheAge on Kyrios) Looking for next PvP game
Pretty funny how a game that's been dead for 2 years now and never had the numbers compared to the big boys is requested at least once on every page of this thread. Yay shadowbane!
All the crotchety old timers vote for Shadowbane because it was the first real PVP Sandbox MMO. Eve and Darkfall touch on Shadowbane strengths, but the character flexibility, politics, and downright brutality of Shadowbane made it a very memerable game for people that like purpose behind thier PVP other than, better gear, and bragging rights. I started a war once by stealing a seed of life (a very expensive item needed to create a city) just before it got planted. In the end the guild i pickpocketed the seed from allied with a server dominating guild and they trounced our city after about 3 months of constant seiges. That sucked, but the battle was epic, and fighting to save our city was some of the best gaming experiences i've ever had.
I so agree with Murphy about DAoC. How can EA Mythic not see this?
As far as the others, the only other one I would be interested in would be Ultima Online. I never had the pleasure of playing the first one and think it would be pretty awesome if it had decent graphics/UI.
*Edit- How can I be an "apprentice member" when I joined back in the day (2003)...there should be some points given for longevity at least (since I do not post often, but read more).
Play to Crush. Another vote for Shadowbane. Talk about player created content through PvP and political avenues... who needs RvR when you can do guild v guild, and the players create the war and peace. I even loved the addition of resources to give some more casual PvP.
5) City of "Supers" (H/V) 4) Anarchy Online 3) Ultima Online 2) Legends of Kesmai (interesting systems never seen since) 1) Asheron's Call
Asheron's call was a gorgeous fun evolving sandbox... but it's so ugly even compared to eq1 that it makes baby jesus cry. I'd rather play angband or nethack or dwarf fortress... they all look better. In ascii mode. Seriously.
City of * just really needs an upgraded graphics engine and some higher rez textures and better poly count models. Game play is still a lot of fun if a bit monotonous... less monotonous than most current game though.

A rework of Asheron's Call 2 would certainly be of interest.
Some really good memories there.
Wherever you go, there you are.

I could totally get behind a remake of AC and AO. Both provided many many hours of entertainment.
1) Verant needs to reform and Sony should gift them back the EQ IP.
Then they should remake EQ with all the lessons learned over the last decade+.
2) UO should be remade
3) Blizzard North should reform and be gifted back the Diablo IP and remake Diablo 2 as Diablo IV.
4) Sigil games should be gifted back the Vanguard IP and remake Vanguard or simply fix the game
5) ID Software should make a true MMOFPS based on the Quake 3 engine
City of Heroes

Looking for next PvP game
1. SWG (anyone other than soe)
2. Earthrise (had potential...worst dev team ever)
3. Darkfall (still a great game, but has the potential to be epic)
4. RF online (Get rid of pots, but could have been great)
5. Talbula Rasa (With end game content, could have been beast)

My top 5 for being re-made would be:
5) City of "Supers" (H/V)
4) Anarchy Online
3) Ultima Online
2) Legends of Kesmai (interesting systems never seen since)
