GW is not for people that can only play 15min. You couldn't do a single cooperative mission with that amount of time. You would never advance past the first part of the story line.
i really enjoyed gw but the thing which let it down for me was the lack of items and the fact that everyone looks the same. Also the fact that some area's of the game you can only play with npc creatures.
in my opinion that is one good feature. They did this because they dont want too much bias because somebody got the best armor cuz he killed the hardest boss in game, GW is not all about that (thats why most WoW players say it lacks gameplay, which i agree with) Its good when you go into pvp's as they are trying to stand by their promise, its not about how many hours you play the game but how you play the game.
The NPC henches are there because of the larege number of districts and cooperative missions, there is an instance where there are only 3 of you in that outpost or there are no healers in the outpost, they put henchies in case you need them (not as good as real players).. there is a purpose.
WoW on the otherhand is really great because of the raids for bosses. I just love a massive number of people trying to kill one huge boss and all that. Otherwise, both games are uncomparable...
and I hate to see people talk that WoW is better or GW is better... BOTH ARE GOOD
I got to admit they are both very awsome game. However, you got to admit the fact of the cost of money and the performance speed. If you dont have a good computer WoW will lag you out... However; dont worry about Guild War lagging you out with a desent computer. Also once again about the money cost if your gonna play for a year you got to admit that it will cost you ovfer $200 for WoW (buying the CD + Monthly Pay) Unlike Guild Wars which is $50 Max (not even 50 depends where you buy..) So in price and performance i would go with Guild Wars for sure. In the game however, you cant also just decide on one game or the other because they are totally different. ArenaNet has tryed a new type of MMORPG on guild wars from what i think i would like to think of it as the towns being like Diablo II but with different theme story plot and etc. and much longer. I cant really say much about WoW because i havent played it a lot but i have played it once or twice and it seems like a great game ( i love blizzard ) but this time i would go with guild wars :P
This didnt make sense didnt it?
Well one word Guild War cheaper Both games have ups and downs they both great but the whole point Guild War cheaper i go with that :P Oh yea dont think that guild wars dont get updates because of no fee it has weekly updates and bans a lot of account each week atleast a 100 because of hacks or cheats and etc.
wellp, arena net proved speculations about their services to be not good due to no monthly fees to be wrong. They are doing a very great job updating the game, fixing bugs and adding new features. I'll be waiting for their next expansion(jan 2006).
Most people hate this game because it lacks grinding, but hey i got this game to free myself from constant grinding an stuff. I just then go back to other on line games like WoW to grind again.. so on and so forth.
Humm...I pick GW over WoW anytime! to me, WoW is too cartoony...

Originally posted by Kayron GW PVE is a lot better than WoWs, I could play PVE on GW for ever and not get board. GW PVP is good but not as good as WoWs. The raids on WoW are really good, cant get enough of them. Really looking foward to battle grounds.
thats weird, cuz raids counts as PvE content.
i much rather play PvP in GW where no LvL 60 would pop up and gank me out of nowhere.
plus ANet has Community Managers who actualy listen in Fan Site forums, The Guild Hall for example. as for WoW? i dont even wana go into their forums...
I voted WoW I just got this game a few days ago and its already better then GW In GW the max lvl is 20 And the combat is just so boring in GW Plus the fact the community sucks. The reasons i like WoW, Entertaining VERY In depth the Quest are cool and the community kicks ass. <<< My opinion.
Since GW doesn't come with any monthly fee why not get both. GW is a bit shorter since the level cap is level 20. But people say there's still lots do to after that. Both of them focuse on PvP to. I haven't played GW, but I have played WoW but don't anymore. So again its up to you.
Originally posted by Ice_Fire Lol this is a hard one im getting guild wars and i have World of warcraft Guild wars does have a higher ranking but you cant trust some ratings and wow is staticgiec. It was hard
strategic? how is spaming the same combination of skills over and over again strategic?

combat is boring? yes i agree that the PvE portion of the game is boring, but so is WoW's. dont even get me started on WoW's quest system... plus the PvP portion of GW excel way beyond WoW's, since it requires team work and planing ahead. in WoW, it's basicly the higher lvl person wins, but thats only in 1vs1... which brings me to my next critisism for WoW, players getting zerged.. lol WoW has a good community? :P did u read the forums when the honours system came out? i lost all respect for the WoW community after that.
World of Warcraft is a fun, very fun game. I have it and it has very good graphics, AND it has a bunch of servers, depending on if you like PvP or Roleplay or normal. It also depends on where you live and what time zone. If you want some screen shots or more info, please go to www.worldofwarcraft.com because they have a lot more info then I have in me, ! Also there is Horde and Alliance, Alliance consists of Human, Night Elf, Dwarf and Gnome. As of Horde they have Orc, Troll, Tauren and Undead. They also have BG (Battlegrounds). It is where you PvP (you do not have to be on a PvP server). They have somewhere in Ashenvale where you enter a portal, to get in a queue and it will have an estimated time wait on it. When you get in you will have a Horde Flag and an Alliance Flag. Alliance must get the Horde Flag and return it to their base. Same with Horde they must get the Alliance Flag and return it to their base (but if the two flags are not at their bases they cannot be captued). The first team to get three flags captured wins. Note you Horde and Alliance have a different Area to enter in the queue. Now I have nothing else more to tell you. But I feel WoW is a very good game to play.
i play wow... alot, and i beta tested gw's so i dont have indepth experience with gw's but i will say this. im a fan of persistant world games, games like eq, daoc, wow, swg... just to name a few. gw however is not one of those games. people always say "gw's is not a mmorpg!" which is a misunderstood label, yes gw's is massive and multiplayer and is online but its not one persistant world other that when you are looking for a group to go into a instance. that being said, for that reason alone i dont like the game... i also dont like ( from my limited experience with the game) when your in an instance you have to "stay on the path" style of a game witch i also cant stand. yes you can argue wow has flaws and it does, its not a perfect game by any means but its the best out there from what i can tell, if you like persistant world games. if you dont care about that and just wanna play an online rpg thats decent then gw's is for you....... that is all
None of them. They both get repetitive and boring. After your level 20 and done all quests in guild wars, there is absolutely nothing to do, besides kill people in the arena. Even then, the arena is frustrating, as you need a really good team to kill anything. (You can't go into the arena and kill shit on your own).

As someone whos played both extensivly. Go with GW it is more fun at every point in the game.
