Players of AOC will be happy with the addon pack. Its's too bad the movie didnt do so well in the theaters.

I guess it's natural for them to do a tie in, even if the movie was comically bad on all levels.

You had to know the movie was going to be crap when they had electric guitar in the trailers.. hello!?

And Funcom was relying on the movie to bring people to the game.  Hyping the hell out of it on FB/twitter/ and the official AoC forums. And, just like a Funcom game, the movie came out the exact opposite of what it was promised to be.

Another brilliant  Funcom idea "working as intended".

    Budget:

    $70,000,000 (estimated)

    Opening Weekend:

    $10,021,215 (USA) (21 August 2011) (3015 Screens)

I liked the visuals of the film.

I just hated the dialogue and the characters.

They should have made a Conana O'Brien movie

    Pasty-white Conan O'Brien in a loincloth.

    Andy Richter as Thoth-Amon.

    True entertainment.

before it's out of theaters it'll probably hit the mid 50 millions or early 60 millions world-wide leaving only about a 5-10 million gap between breaking even from movie ticket sales alone. Then it'll go to PPV and DVD/Blu-Ray and probably rake in the dough there, most movies no matter how bad they are, tend to be very lucritive through those distributions. Also, there's a Red Sonja movie starring Amber Heard in the works, hopefully they will learn what they did wrong with this Conan movie for that one. It's being done by different people, though.

What a waste!  Momoa is a GREAT Conan.  Too bad the writers couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

I have to write it is kinda apt...2011 Conan is not the greatest of films and AoC isn't the greatest of MMOs either.

The the problem with the CGI director generation. They get far too carried away with a CGI orgy, instead of slowing it down a bit and get down to some good old fashioned story telling in movies, it can be done. Lord of the RIng movies did the CGI without it going over the top  well, and not forgetting about the good old story telling with the characters of older pre CGI movies.

It has to be strange to work on a film like this though.

The cast & crew has to know that the movie isn't very good.  But they're getting paid, so who cares?

Back in 1976/77 the cast & crew of Star Wars thought the film was an absolute train wreck before it launched though.

Sidenote: There is a Conan O'Brien movie.

    Misery loves company!

Bad game needs to cling to a mediocre movie.

I love how Funcom tried to distance themselves as much as they could from the older Conan movies only to hype/advertise and release a tie-in pack to the much worse, newly released Conan movie. Out of the frying pan and into the fire, as they say.

I loved the new Conan movie.

it was like 100 times better captured from the books then the Conan from the 80ish

    No Signature :)

Ah yeah let's put THULSA DOOM and his "Knights of Heavy Metal" into AoC, THAT would be GREAT.

Arnold's movies ARE B-movies. Except that Conan the Barbarian has triple A OST. It's almost as if Basil Poledouris composed a simphony called Conan the Barbarian, and that movie is it's videoclip.
