Population numbers are actually around 10k online these days. To get non-existent waiting time while forming matches of 30 random non-repeating players correctly* matched  - 10k pool sounds about right.

Let me repeat agian non-existent wait time. Zero, nada, nil. I have more than 10 tanks, levels 6-10, and playing all of them every night. Don't wait more than 30 seconds with any of them. However, it might be a little worse on lower levels now as the population shifted to the higher tiers.

*Correctly from the design point of view, not your wishes.

5 people in general chat, because the chat is a total garbage. And it's actually true for almost every mmo I have ever played, they mostly occupied by gold spammers, it's a pity they have notihg to sell in WoT.

I wonder whether any developers not making a game to your liking are total trash, or you just have a special thing for this particular one. Steamrolled much I guess.

After further review and reaching Tier 6.

No it's not, you will have more fun gouging out your eyes and fending them to the dog.  Uninstalled today.

If you don't like a game don't play it, and quit running to MMORPG.com to trash it.

Imo it's worth the download depending on what you want out of the game.  You can read my thread titled "Fun through tier 3 then..."  for what to expect as far as tanks that you will get matched up with.  It's up to you to decide if it's a problem or not. Some folks don't mind the tier spread in matches.

I created a new account to play some low tier tanks on (instead of buying new tank slots) since I refuse to spend money on the game until the matchmaker is changed. I have 4 accounts now (a couple are accounts that my kids stopped playing on). One account for each nationality of tanks and the fourth for when the French & British tanks come out. That is if I'm still playing by then.

I'm basically down to playing tier 2 tanks now due to the matchmaker.  My  M2MT (tier3) tank is one of, if not my favorite tank but it sits in the garage now. Out of the last fifty matches, I was put in three, I repeat, three tier 3 matches. That's 3 out of 50. This started happening once my crew got to 100% and I started their specific skill training. The rest of the matches were tier 4 & 5. Now playing in the tier 4 & 5 matches isn't really a bad thing if it were a lower percentage of the matches.  The higher challenge can be fun sometimes but when half the enemy tanks can 1-shot you it gets to be rather mundane since your tactics are very limited. And yes, I've used every tactic there is.

A lot of the fun of playing a tank is getting out there and mixing it up with tanks of your same or +1 tier but you will not be able to do that agaisnt tanks two tiers higher and many times just one tier higher. Just depends on the tanks in the matchup. Most of the time you will find yourself just trying to stay alive and hoping to get a few shots off on a tank you can actually do some decent damage to. Once in a while there will be exceptions to this but they are few.

The point here is that once your crew skills are high and you have your tank fully upgraded you will be matched against tanks up to 3 tiers higher than yours depending on the tier of your tank. This can be even higher with mid to hgher tier light scout tanks based on what I've read. I don't play light tanks so I can't say from experience. It's unfortunate that they do this, it's as if they think your tank suddenly should be playing with higher tiers but many of those higher tier tanks you play against are also fully upgraded with maxxed crews so any perceived performance increase from your tank is negated.

Combined, I've played over 6000 battles on my accounts so take from this what you will. The bottom line is what you think of as fun. I've been accused of lieing about this number of battles played and I could provide screenshots to prove it but then I'd just be accused of posting different player's screenshots and claiming them as my own.

You will have to determine if you don't mind putting up with what many consider the major headaches of the game; matchmaker, spotting system, non-damage shots, and artillery. Artillery may or may not bother you. Most complaints these days about arty is the number of them in a match. It's still subjective just like everything else.

Anyway, I say go ahead and try it out.  Chances are you will like the game, at least up to a point but you may end up not disliking anything about it.

    Good luck.

Not going to argue your 6k on different accounts. This is very much possible. But plain stupid from my point of view. I have ~7k and long forgot about the MM "injustice", depending on my mood I play Maus/E50/Patton at the top of the list or more relaxing KT, VK3601 and M12.

I think it is a great game if you just want some quick pvp fun and don’t want to spend any money. I’ve played all the different types of tanks and ended up leveling the light tanks and tank destroyers up without spending a dime.

If you like fast, meaningless PvP matches similar to battlegrounds in most MMOs, you should feel right at home in WoT.
