I downloaded city of heroes and while it was updateing an error popped up and read could not write memmory with a code. I submitted a ticket with code and they wrote me back telling me to update my ati driver and that should fix it,well my drive is 6 months out of date!! so just to humor them I did and of course that did not fix it. Why did'nt they take a look at the code I sent them and give me a lolution based on that? I have played city of heroes on drivers that were much older than the one I have now, what a lazy way to run a support department

They clearly misunderstood your problem. The driver issue was the cause of a recent bug where the client would freeze after a while ingame. The latest catalyst drivers have a fix for that.
I think that for some reason they assumed that you were having that problem. Just write to support again and try to explain clearly that you have a problem wth updating the game. If you are using windows 7 btw, you might want to let CoH client use Administrator mode. Try this to see if it fixes your problem. Because the client is put in the program files directory, which is read only for a normal user in Windows 7.
thanks for your advise, when I downloaded game I used coh downloader and have noticed that other games have trouble with theeir downloaders (LOTRO) i do have the coh/cox discs, maybe I will uninstall and reinstall useing the discs. Oh and I have window xp
Then I dont know, because in Windows XP the game should be able to write to that directory without a problem. If you start with the NcSoft launcher, you can chose a repair option (or something called like that) to launch CoH with that. Maybe some of your client files are corrupt.
oh ok I will try the repair option
I uninstalled and reinstalled useing my old discs and it was fine, unfortunately I forgot how slow the combat was and decided not to play it
