Eh...you only get 1 week to play it then you have to buy it. Originally thought if I create it during the promotion week, I can keep playing it, but that is not the case unless I buy it.

Damn you Cryptic, we should get everything free.

    /facepalm

Honestly don't you realise that F2P still needs to make an income otherwise it fails and it shuts down.

If you like a F2P game, then do your fellow players a favour and buy something in it once in a while to keep it in business.

The free charactet slot is permanent, though. That's pretty nice.

And you can change that char over to a new AT every week I think.

A whole week to try one of CO's crappy "premium" archetypes!!!

Why should I? CoX lets me have access to most of their basic archetypes (They locked Controller and Mastermind. You can unlock them with 12 Reward Tokens. Also, Dominator is better than Controller, IMHO.) and those allow me to choose my two powersets.

Why shouldn't Cryptic make their archetypes free FOREVER? They ARE worse than CoX's archetypes. CoX's archetypes may be the original classes; but, I get a hell of a lot more options than CO's archetypes. I can actually choose what powersets I want with my archetype.

How i hate cheap people, destroyers of quality! Smoke and drink less and will have no problem to sub every month! Agrrrh .... Only difference is with kids where parents simply does not get it that monthly sub is nothing compared to what they stupidly spend every day! Btw, I'm 50 with kids and they do not have problem with me. What is pub, car, new shoes, ... for parents are games for kids.

Buying the archetype you want to play is cheap, I bought my Impulse for around 10 bucks and Im happy with it, 1 time purchase, play all you want. People should understand that Cryptic needs to make money, they are not going to give you all the archetypes for free. You wann have fun? Spend some money. Not even a sub, just a 1 time purchase.

this game is completely irrelevant now that city of heroes is F2P

Competition is good.  CoX moving into the F2P/Freemium market forces Cryptic to try new things and attempt to make their game better.  I still prefer CoX though ( ' :
