your problem is very confusing, you return to the game "re-activating your sub i guess..." and still you dont have all your stuff unlocked? then just unsub again untill the problem is solved, i guess is not that hard, untill you intend to get all the things you had without paying a coin (which i think is not the case), if the problem is that your log in fails or they just dont recognize your account settings then just demonstrate them your cd keys and all the stuff, if they still ignore that... well then take serious measures. Sorry if i seem dumb but your problem is very confusing to me :s, Gl recovering what is yours dude.

Edit: i read a little bit more i think dude... that you forgot this game was subscription based, dont try to tell us that you played COH in 06 just buying the Box. Correct me if im wrong.

Just wanted to add in reply to my previous message, although the patch notes said nothing that should have affected my gameplay in the way it did... I'm no longer watching a series of screenshots since the publish yesterday.

I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

To make things even worse.  I was going to buy 6 month sub, but when I log into my ncsoft account it wants me to "verify" my account.  I answer the questions, and it says that I didn't answer them correctly....Well, last time I checked, my security question and birthday have been the exact same thing since Hotmail came out and I got an account with them lol (15 years?)  I was messing around and noticed that when you create a new ncsoft account, they changed how you set up your security questions and stuff.  It uses a pull down menu, instead of the old way of typing in your own question...so I guess my answer got lost or something after the change.  I tried using my paypal account, but paypal won't let me use it.  Says that NCLauncher.exe is tracking me....I've never seen a game company that didn't want someone to buy a 6 month sub so badly lol.

I'm in the same boat as OP as well.  I bought COH box, COV box, Rogue box, yet I have all the restrictions of a free player...I'm sorry, but my ~$120 plus 10x$15 wasn't enough to get me access to my 4 level 50 MM and level 42 troller permenantly?  wow really?

Finally got a response from a GM.

    Let you decide for yourself.

    [Redacted],

I appreciate you taking the time to let us know how you feel about the service change in City of Heroes.

It's worth clarifying that we didn't lie about anything. For the most part, content and feature access that players unlocked prior to City of Heroes Freedom going live is left unchanged/intact. There are some elements that are now conditionally available, depending on membership type and whether or not those things have been unlocked via purchase through the Paragon Market in-game.

For example, Masterminds and Controllers are now considered to be un-lockable content in the game. They're available for VIP members automatically. Premium accounts and Play-for-Free accounts must unlock access to them. These Archetypes are available for non-VIP members in the following ways:

    1. Purchase access to those Archetypes through the Paragon Market using Paragon Points.

    2. Reach Tier 5 in the Paragon Rewards system in-game (for this, you'd need to spend 13 Reward Tokens).

Characters/character slot availability is also influenced by membership type now. This is as the Development Team intended, and it was clearly explained before the service change took place. There are a number of sources of this documentation that laid out how these changes were going to work when applied.

At the same time, I respect your decision to choose what games you will or will not invest in. If you'd like to share your thoughts on the matter, I encourage you to consider making a post about this in the City of Heroes forums. Many times, similar topics are being discussed and this gives our players the chance to communicate their suggestions and concerns to the Development Team through that medium. You can find the discussion threads specific to player feedback by going here:

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Regards,

    GM Grackle

The City of Heroes Support Team

FYI I can't post on the forums because I'm not VIP.

You know, say what you will about having to pay to unlock MMs and Controllers, but that was a very nicely written and polite reply by the GM.

Personally the whole thing doesn't effect me since I'm t9.  If I drop to premium I'd basically just be missing Incarnate content, systems wise anyway.  I can still understand how someone who bought a box could be annoyed by the whole thing though.  The character slots issue I have less sympathy for, though I really do think premium players should get something like 2 slots per server on top of the 2 global unlocks.

I ran into the same problem, I had stopped playing since last fall and when I tried logging in last month, it said I was suspended. It took a week using their web support to resolve the issue which required me to submit nearly all the game keys I had for the master account. When I asked them when and why my account was suspended, they said it was compromised last October. Now I never got an email about my account being suspended, so I'm still skeptical about the whole thing. After some digging, I believe my account was probably suspended due to lack of activity for my own protection because there was a huge NCSoft/guildwars/arenanet account security compromise almost a year ago. The jist of it is, someone who logged into their master account would actually be logged into another person's account and had access to change anything they wanted.

Here's a link to some info on it: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/account-hackings-source-t10419779.html

The only other thing you will have to watch out for is not being able to pay your base rent if you aren't VIP -- that has been a problem for many that came back to play.  The registrar will only show the option to pay to subs so you have to have one in your SG.

    I checked it out yesterday.

My account is premium, I have something like 8 or 9 characters unlocked across two servers, access to my trollers and mastermind, access to warshade and peicebringer, and I'm tier 7 or 8 on the rewards.

What you have access to as a returning player is based on your level of gameplay when you subscribed.  If you only subed for a couple of months I don't think you're going to have much unlocked, if you played for multiple years you'll have access to just about everything except those things reserved exclusively for VIP subs.

This seems about right to me.  Those of us that invested many, many months of subscription into the game are rewarded for this.
