I just saw a Sith video, and he killed some prisoners in a very cool way with a wicked grin on his face... Scoring dark side points, feeling really dark.
Now i asume that a Jedi could also choose to kill a prisoner to score darkside points, but will this Jedi do it with a wicked smile on his face. Or with passion and compasion?
There is a big difference between these two, if i score darkside points as a Jedi, i hope the feeling it generates is one of baddass wickedness....

Republic Dark side choices are very much the renegade options and can be badass. Most of the time it's not so much of killing as it is turning a blind eye when the Republic needs your help or bending the rules to get the job done. Badass, just not a ruthless murderer like the Sith.
Maybe someone can point me to a video with an excample of such behaviour.

in my experience, the majority of dark side options for republic just would have made me feel like a total idiot. So yeah, i just spent 2 hours risking my life to save this dude, now i'm going to kill him and all my time will have been wasted. Badass.... or i just spent an hour saving this village because it's the right thing to do, now i'm going to do something terrible to them just for fun...
Anyhow that was on a consular, which i hear is the worst storyline. I hear the Smuggler choices are pretty "badass".

One of the trooper quests I have to rescue an informant, but it turns out this informant is also a pirate that blew up many republic vessles. He also gives you a lot of lip. I made sure he died in a conveniant reactor explosion, for dark side points.
The Knight story on the starter world gives you ample opportunities to be dark, including killings npcs when you know as a Jedi you shouldn't.
I went full Dark just to see how bad it could go and I was not dissappointed. I even feel I missed a few more dark side options because I ended one conversation pretty short by killing a guy rather than listening to him more.
No crooked smile, though. His attitude about doing something dark kinda reminded me of Starkiller. He just kinda did it and didn't think twice. Stone cold.
I only got my test character to about level 11 (hello Error Code 1, how YOU do'n? You do'n pretty good? That's nice) , and played a consular (which is not terribly interesting up to this level).
Anyway, the light / dark side choices that I encountered were fairly mundane. The most memorable was choosing to not "tell on" two padawans who were romantically involved. Note that this was not such a simple quesiton, due to reasons that I won't explicitly state... but you DO get a yellow color stone out of it.
side note: Color stones for light sabers DO have stats, they're not just cosmetic. In this case, the stat is +3 to a stat versus the +1 that the default stone provides... if I remember the numbers correctly.
I had other LS / DS questions pop up, but they didn't seem to make a lot of sense so I didn't choose them. Nothing about killing people, certainly, but I don't expect much at these low levels.
