I played WoW for like 4 months, no continously, and at this point i'm a bit bored of it, i wanted to try another game, so i downloaded LOTRO. I took that one because i liked the Lord of the Rings, and because i read that it had a good crafting system (i am not sure if it's true). After playing it i got a bit dissapointed by the constant signs "Buy now" in almost every window.
Anyway, i am asking for people who know this game for any feedback about it, like "its great", "it sucks", tell me, is the "VIP suscription" thing worth it? is this a P2W (pay to win) game?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Lotro is a very good game that is rich in story and content. If you like PvP, it is lacking big time. The crafting is really good and sub for one month to unlock your bags. You can quest and get turbine points to unlock quests also. Overall it is a really good game.
No. Game is pretty and the world is very immersive, but characters have a second or two delay when performing actions/spells/magic attacks which makes the game super slow paced and dull. Just play SKYRIM until SWTOR.
I found Skyrim to be very boring. A lot of same characters copy/pasted everywhere and the combat was less then boring at the best of times. The only good part about the game was its immersive environment. But, a nice picture book could do the same for me.

No one cares about your opinion of Skyrim. Thread is about LOTRO.
It is like Jarazan said - LotRo is a very lore-rich MMO with excellent quests, and since you say you like both, LotRo will probably your MMO to play. Some things to consider though:
Yes, the cash-shop is advertised everywhere, but it's also one of the few MMO's where you gain CS currency when playing. I've had players in my kinship that grinded their way up on several servers (exploring and making lowbee chars up to level 20) to be able to play 100% free on their 'main server'.
Through time, a lot of area's have been 'dumbed down' to solo area's. Basically, up to level 50 or so, there's no real need to party anywhere, and most players won't party till then. IMO this is a sad thing when you've experienced LotRo at the 'early days' like I did.
From my perspective, community on the servers I have played on (3 in total, all EU originated) is very good. Though I haven't played LotRo for over a year now, I will hop to SWTOR with the old kinship I was in.
Character progression is very diverse because of all traits and virtues. Not to mention, there's also a lot of RP possibilities in LotRo as well.
