I am so psyched about this book.  I can't wait to see Voldemort get pwnd and/or do some pwning of his own.

The movies sucked because they almost ruined my perception of the books. Movies are to be made AFTER all the books have come out, not in the middle of the series. They're a novelty that needs to be reserved for later and then I'll enjoy them.

The books, they're a different story. I loved the books, but I love lots of books. :) It's just painful to watch people turn on them because of pre-conceived notions that they're 'too popular and overrated so they must suck' or that they're only for kids. People that claim they're only for kids are simply insecure with themselves - same people that wouldn't wear a pink shirt out in public because they're afraid of what others will think of them. No offense.

Have fun with it, judge the book on its own merit and don't join the herd of sheep that refuse to give credit where credit is due because something is 'uncool'

    My two cents.

I have the book....never read it.

One series almost like harry potter i liked are the series:

    Talking to Dragons

    Calling on Dragons

    Dealing with Dragons

    Searching for Dragons

I only red 2 out of the 4 books (Calling on Dragons and Talking to Dragons) and their very good. The only thing that pisses me off about it is the new artowork they put on the cover (which is kinda ugly compared to the old books):

Here is a link if you want to see what the old books look like:http://castletowers.8m.com/ctjasmine.htm

look at the bottom of the page.

You guys should check the book out.

but the books are great, really about 10x more to them, i thinkt he movies dont do them justice especialy the last one. (like most books turned movies i guess)

but yeah, the books are very good i think, i jsut dont see how they are going to do all the movies cuz the dude playing harry will be like 35 when the 8th year is finally written.

Harry Potter makes kids into saitanists and want to practice witch craft and kill thier parents in a saitanic ritual! Burn 'em burn 'em I say!

    SPOILER:

I heard it on Attack of the Show!

Hermione and Ron hook up but because one of them is drunk

The character who dies is Dumbledore because he died in rl and they didn't want to recast for the movies.

Lord Veldamort is the old guy who owns the carnival(not really. Or is it?)

Yes, Harry Potter is for kids, sadly though many teenagers and even adults read it. I never read the books or seen the movie, thus staying away from the ever growning hold of pop culture on teenagers and others.

I kinda have mixed emotions towards Harry Potter.... On one side I think it's good because it's really getting alot of children into reading more which is really good.... On the other side... I think it sucks because yes the book is rather childish... and Too many adults have been taken in by such a childish book.... While there is nothing wrong with adults reading childish books, It's sad when they get soo addicted that they read it over and over until they memorize all the character's names, bio, and all the spells and how to conjure them...

I personally dont like the book... my taste in Fantasy books leads me more towards an involving story line with background and history rather than Fancifull play with Whimsical renaming of everyday things...

I think that Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit and The Chronicals of Narnia are far better than Harry Potter. For some reason most churches that I visit totally dis Harry Potter but LOTR and the chronicals of narnia are great....I wonder why this is.....

I have never read the books so I am speaking from a position of almost total ignorance. I'm a Stephen King fan and if I want fantasy I'll read Tolkien or something.

But that having been said, I think J.K. Rowling is the devil. I'm kidding about the devil bit, but I see her and I just hate her so much. She is raking in the dough making these foux foux books for nerdballs. I saw her at some big fancy ordeal at some castle in England with her adoring masses in the audience as she read the first chapter of her latest book. Listening to her read that stuff in her english accent about magic wands and crap ugh makes me wanna puke.

But my envy for her millions not withstanding, she does get kids to read. And she gets kids to LOVE to read. For that we should all thank her. image

Actually I found the first movie to be very nice. The cinematography was done perfectly. Chris Columbus did a phenominal job directing the movie and captured the imagination and magic of the books and placed it into film.

Also, Harry Potter sucking is your opinion only (tell that to the Author who is now the richest woman in the United Kingdom....obviously the series can't be that bad if her books made her into a billionaire)

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

woah skater dude! I think that comment was far too totally tubular bitchin' to-the-max X-treme (note the cool X) for this forum! Man oh man, you are like, the first person to come up with such an original statement like that!

Aside from that, I actually liked the 3rd HP movie. Considering the guy who directed it had previously directed spanish porn, i think he did a damn good job of visually representing the book.
