How do you feel about the War on Drugs?

I was curious as to what an MMO players view on this might be. Most people I played with werent drug users but werent really against them either. Now I'm not saying legalize heroin or anything but as someone who enjoys "devils grass" I cant help but feel like people who play MMOs would agree that the "war" hasnt accomplished anything except wasting our tax dollars. Look at it like a company taking your sub money and instead of fixing things that are clearly broken, they spend it all trying to ban gold farmers. I guess thats a poor analogy but I'm bored at work and wondered what other people thought of this.

This is a 'War' that was lost before it even started. They should just legalize, regulate and tax Weed and put that money they make from permits and taxes to go after the real problem drugs... You know the ones that actually KILL people. With the savings they would have from not wasting their time on Potheads combined with the revenue it would generate for the government through regulation (Growing/Selling permits) and taxes they could make a real difference against some of the really harmful drugs. Not to mention all of the manpower that is wasted every year going after Potheads.

Also, following the basic economic principle of supply and demand, if it was decriminalized the Mexican drug cartels would take abig hit financially. While you may think. weed would be their least profitable drug it is actually the opposite. My opinion is that US govt wants to keep the game going so they justify spending money on DEA/ Drug task forces and keep collecting fine money from "criminals" who like to relax after work. So its ok to go to a bar and get obliterated and be an all around asshole yet I cant enjoy a nice dutchmaster in the privacy of my home where Im not bothering anyone except my fridge. GTFO this country is so oblivious to how people are kept in check by their own government. I used to laugh at people who said this stuff like "the powers that be want you to be a sheep in their big game" but now im starting to think they might be on to something. Govt let 9/11 happen (not DID, but let it happen) and thats a damn shame

First step, legalize marijuwana and put the same tax and laws that's alcohol has.  Industrialize hemp, create jobs etc... Not only would it help the economy it will also reduce the violence that's drug related substantially between mexico and united states.    To be honest, legalize cociane too while their at it.  If you an adult you got a right to put whatever you want in you body.  Might as well have the government get some money back from it than have the full amount go to drug dealers which pay 0 taxes on it.    If people are going to do drugs they will legal or not, but might as well make it legal so the economy can some what benefit from it.

I smoke marijuwana time to time, I rather buy it with taxes than from a "dealer".

But it'll never happen anytime soon.   Fill those prisons up with petty crimes like marijuwana posession and get those tax payer dollars a-rollin.

Edit: Let me add, when I say "might as well have the government get some money back" , that's only good if the politicians and government in general know how to use it properly that helps the people, which they don't.      My ¢2

Haha I was thinking the same thing. Legalize cocaine!? Seriously!

But I'm against Drugs and fully support stopping them. I've seen many friends get hooked on drugs, even the light stuff, and mess up their lifes.
