Whelp, there goes my theory then.  Sorry bud, you got unlucky in the Early Access pool then.  Did you randomly try logging in without recieving the email?

    First thing I did :)

Ok, let me repeat myself...(as I explained more clearly in my other post)
    I pre-ordered at Gamestop 8 months ago
I put the code in on July 21st, that date is also confirmed on SWTOR.com website when go into my account, preorder section.
I Beta tested (which someone clarified that I had misread the interview, so it doesn't matter much)
Considering these facts and considering what Bioware/EA promised, I should already be playing.
Now, we are talking about a day or two, or maybe 5 even, and that is not the issue, it is an mmo, I will probably be playing for months, and maybe years (depending on how content pours in). I am not complaining about the number of days, I am complaining about the fact that what they are promising and what they are delivering does not match. So I get frustrated when that happens because I say to myself, if on a simple thing like early access, they don't keep their word, how will it be with all the features and content that they are promising in the future.
Another thing is that I have been playing MMOs since Meridian 59, in 1996, I have played every single MMO ever released in NA. And lately most gaming companies have been overpromising and underdelivering, and that is why the slightest thing lights a red light, and gets me being skeptical again.
So I will wait for whatever access I get, be it early release, or the 20th, I will get my collector, I will play the game, because I'm loving the game until now, and I recommend anyone reading this to go out and buy it if they have not done so yet. And I will hope that they keep ALL their promises and bring us all the features and content they have been telling us about.
    Peace

Seems a lot more likely that you've misinterpreted what was promised. Prior to changing the early access to the 13th of December, it was the 15th of December. You don't even have a reason to complain until you don't get in on the 15th.

Even then, unless the original FAQ did not state that early access time would depend on when you bought the game, you still haven't been lied to and Bioware has done exactly what they said they were going to do.

    ** edit **
Even further beyond that, it seems like the emails that people received on their pre-orders did not specify any particular amount of time for access...just that people would get early access.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Who cares? Just wait patiently like the rest of us and stop whining. Some people are never satisfied with anything.

Hey little person, if you didn't care you wouldn't be on mmorpg.com at 8am reading and posting about swtor. Also you would completely ignore my thread. So you care lol

Someone correct here if I am wrong, but didnt they promise the 15th to the 19th at early gae access at the time you preordered? They decided to add a few days to stagger it and make sure the servers were not overcrowded. If you get in by the 15th, they kept thier promise. Relax. Do something you enjoy in RL. Go to a movie, read a book, watch some lizard lick towing reruns and you will get in eventually.

So I pre-order this game 8 months ago, on top of that the version I pre-ordered is the collector's edition, and I participate in several Betas. But I do not get access to the first or second day of early access.

I don't see the logic behind this, they said 50% of the people who will get early access will be the ones who preordered first and the other 50% are the ones who contributed to Beta. I am pretty that 8 months of pre-order, I was probably one of the first ones, as it was around the period they had just started the pre-orders, and I participated in Beta and actually contributed a lot.

A couple of days don't really make a difference, I just was hoping to get that email as I have done the necessary to get in.

    Peace

Well, I would be really pissed if i preordered game just to get the early acess they promised. And than them ignoring what they promissed.

    But thats EA for you.

Or , we can just blame people who can't read. It clearly says "MAY get early game access UP to five days".

It is the same with stores saying "savings UP to 50%", you don't always get 50%.

I blame school for not teaching people how to read correctly.

Second off, if you read the following interview, you will see that they did mention that the ratio of people getting in will be 1:1 for preorders as opposed to Beta testers.

    http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/367/feature/5888/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic-PreLaunch-Interview-with-Dallas-Dickinson.html

So yes it does not make any sense that I did not get seeing how I am in both categories that are supposed to get early access. Which makes me believe that the first come first serve rule is not applied and the Beta testers rule is not applied either.

I am a big fan of this game, I am big fan of Bioware and to a lot of people's surprise, I am a big fan of EA, but to me personally, they have not delivered on their promise of early access. That is all I am trying to say.

    Peace

    Golarum,

You are confusing "up to" with "at least". No one is gaurenteed 5 days. Some may only get 1. But the way the first day went, everyone may get a few or more.

Bottom line is if you are complaining about not getting in about day 1, get over that day is over. Geez....

No one is guaranteed 1 day either; they only put an upper boundary and no lower one, which means that in theory they would not break their promise even if the pre-ordering costumer receives no early access time.

in my opinion this staggering system for early access, defeats the purpose of doing a preorder now.

should i just cancel my preorder and wait till the 20th ?

Everyone will be getting at least one day of Early Game Access - unless you pre-order on the 19th, in which case it could be less depending on the speed of your game download, etc. If you do pre-order less than a day before we end Early Game Access, you'll get access granted very soon after you redeem your pre-order code.
