EQ2 did voice overs better than SWTOR IMO...

I know they were abit cheesy and over acted but when playing SWTOR I just feel like they're boring and really cliche. The good thing about in EQ2 is (when it had voice overs) they're spoken to you in the game and you can run off, skip them fast or move around if you like. You also hear NPCs speaking in the background or shouting at you to come over. You get NPCs walking around and doing things to make the world feel more alive. In SWTOR the world feels dead, really quiet and everyone keeps going off into their own little instances to listen to NPCs, none of them talk in game. The other weird thing is they all stand still, they never walk around or do anything, just standing in one location...

I just think I would rather have had an extension of EQ2 (back at release) rather than have what Bioware do in their Single Player games. The problem with it is you feel like you're in a single player game and not an MMO, it all feels very cut off from other people. The other problem is you don't feel like you're in a world, especially without night/day cycles as well.

You're given this chat wheel as well, yet he never says what is displayed at the bottom. So you'll select something and he'll say something different to what you wanted and it's like, hang on I didn't want to be that harsh lol...

lol just gone through most of your posts and it seems every mmo sucks, you complained about SWtor in Beta and yet you still preordered, why did you bother?, you dont even like EQ2 anymore because of the new direction it took, so its unlikely you will go back to that game.  Seems to me you like to complain for the attention.

    It's a forum...

Pre ordered, got a refund but still playing Early access to see what if anything has changed. People only acuse you of not even playing the final released version if you don't. I'm a fan of the genre as a whole and have had great experiences in it. So what if I think EQ2 isn't good anymore? This is about one part of EQ2 that doesn't exist anymore since SOE couldn't afford to put it into a failing game.

Again it's a forum, just being real and not bigging everything up.

I like the voice overs too

    from wiki

A small number of NPCs use actual voices. The actors used for these parts included Hollywood stars such as Heather Graham (as Queen Antonia Bayle) and Christopher Lee (as Overlord Lucan D'Lere). Wil Wheaton, Dwight Schultz, Richard Horvitz and Danica McKellar are also part of the cast. According to SOE in October 2004, EverQuest II featured 130 hours of spoken dialog recorded by 1,700 voice actors

Yes, can't wait for an EQ3.  I hope it is something like a prequel to EQ1 using the same world.

Yeah, those were nice but I still don't think you can compared them to TOR. Even AoC have a lot more than 130 hours in it.

Lee is always great though. :)

Smed already said it will be free to play and also on PS3. So if it's anything like EQ2 is now, most content added to the game will be via the marketplace.

:wince:  Oh well, at least it started on PC, so it won't just be another bad console port.

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

Some of the voice acting in EQ2 was better than most of the voice acting in TOR, I'll give you that. But most of EQ2's was not better than some of TOR's.

It's a reboot of the EQ1 setting. Think of it as EQ1 in an alternate timeline. This is one of the few things we do know about it.

I don't have much of an opinion on SW, but I do agree EQ2's voice-overs are pretty darn entertaining.  They lack in cut-scenes tho.  There's only a handful (it seems) in the game and they are lack-luster.

So wait, you pre-ordered, canceled the pre-order and are using the pre-order.  This is why they weren't going to offer a grace period.
