Hey fellow gamers.
I haven't come across a thread that answers exactly what I am looking for. Many threads make suggestions along these lines but I created this post in hopes to narrow down exactly what myself and others might be searching for. I play 2 MMORPGs at the moment that both require a $14 monthly fee so I am interested in trying something that is FREE and doesn't expect me to pay to buy the game or a monthly subscription. Item malls are doable as long as it isn't mandatory to spend a ton of real life cash to fully progress in the game. The genre and graphics of the game isn't as important either. I just tried Atlantica Online. Its a good match for what I am asking for but it takes "months" (no joke) as a daily dedicated grinder to get high level and it is way too repetitive along the way. I've had my fair share of FPS games so I'm not interested in a FPS or MMOFPS.
I am really only interested in something that is FUN and FREE to play. (I know it's asking alot)
Any suggestions are welcome. Thx all

Bounty Hounds Online is fun, it's what I play when I have free time (which isn't much these days >w<) It's a sci-fi game that has you working as a mercenary with a pet called a "CTU". It's free but in closed beta at the moment, so the characters will be wiped eventually but there is no open cash shop at the moment and I've seen players at the max level, so I guess it's not needed and will only be a luxury in open beta.
Rusty hearts is pretty fun. Its like devil may cry action/game play with MMO elements. Definitely worth a shot free over steam.
If you like questing, Aika is a very well made game. Progression is medium paced. It's not grindy where you just go into a field and crush mobs for XP. There is a ton of quests.
If you want a mix of quest, grind and dungeons... look into Shaiya. With a "normal" mode character progression is slow to medium. With a hard mode character it's very slow. Cash shop is expensive in my perspective, but skippable if you don't PVP. One big advantage to this game is the engine is extremely well done and highly optimized, so it runs great even on low hardware. Classes are not gender locked.
If you like a "cute" game with pre-teen characters, Grand Fantasia might be a good one. It's questy, not hard to play, and has better than average polish and production quality.
