I've been playing SWTOR and have got every class up to level 10 to see what all the starter quests were like and I realised the class quests are such a small part of the game. If this is an indicator of the rest of the game you'll be sharing more and more quests as it becomes slower to level and you'l need to do more standard quests. Though I've gotten one character to Tatooine which is the mid to late 20s as people have been saying that is when the game changes and becomes open. It's true it feels more open than other planets, however you still cannot explore on your speeder as there are invisible walls and you need to get Taxis to another part. What I never got was you're driving that Taxi by the looks of it so why is it called a Taxi?

The game just makes me feel like it is very linear and enclosed and they failed to poulate the worlds or put any life into the planets. Everything feels rather generic and empty, like when I played SWG in the towns you had lots of stuff going on in the background to make it feel more alive. You had ships flying over in the sky, you had the droids constantly walking around, NPCs were on patrol and Stormtroopers stopped to search and insult you. I loved the animals in the background too, the day/night cycles and the sandstorms which were very blinding to the point you couldn't see anything, which was soo kool. The best thing is it all had sound design to it to make it more believable.

That leads me on to the point of how lacking sound is in this game. All I ever seem to hear is my own footsteps and music, on planets where it rains you can barely hear it, if at all. NPCs only talk when in cutscenes, unless you get this weird thing where you hear two NPCs talking very loudly no matter where you run. I don't understand what is going on at that point because you cannot locate where it is coming from and keeps on going even if you're not near anyone lol. Droids barely make noises, beasts as well barely make any noise and they all seem to stand very still, ones that do walk only go back and forth 5ft. Even in combat the ranged NPCs don't try to run and keep distance, they just run towards you :S

I like graphics, I didn't at first because they don't feel like Star Wars to me, however they're really nice. The Beasts look amazing and the droids are all really kool looking, though their animations suck. The environments look amazing but they just seem so sterile, they need to put more life in to them. The only weak point for me is the character models can look very bad and I wish I could play an alien race instead even if it means it isn't voice acted.

The story can be good as well, it adds a new experience to MMOs for me and I'd like to see it in the future. However I'd like to see them do something more than just standing still talking to another NPC. I want to see cutscenes more like you get inbetween missions in GTA 4 where there is lots of movement and more locations than just one room. That said I feel like I have something driving me to go forwards in the game other than in most MMOs where it is to Raid or PVP at the end game.

Overall though I feel like this is more of a coop experience, I've done all the grouped missions that I can so far and it is really hard to find a PUG. There are no group finder tools that I can find anyways and the game has such a solo focus that most people seem to skip the grouped stuff. The game is so linear that after the first few planets, even joining the other side you'll be seeing a lot of the same stuff. The replayability isn't really there right now and until there are multiple planets covering each level range then there wont be. In other MMOs you have a choice of a few zones to do each time and a Planet in SWTOR is basically a large zone in another MMO.

I just feel like I'll get my experience of SWTOR within the first month and it isn't worth a monthly subscription. SWTOR just feels more like a coop game you play every once in awhile for a laugh with your mates. It doesn't feel like an MMO world where I want to spend my time in for months at a time paying a subscription for it. If the game was F2P then I'd carry on playing it on and off every once in awhile, I just cannot justify paying a subscription so I wont be playing.

no after 2 days and maybe 10 hours of playtime i'm done with this game.

i will not even use the rest of my free time (28 days) this game is not worth my time

yes, I would. Out of all the MMOs I've played believe me its a lot. This is probably the best one I've played, what I like about it is that the fact that the Story quest makes you feel very important/powerful and you've always been making a difference, I think this will appeal to a lot of people, unlike other MMOs that tell you go to X position and kill Y mobs Z times. The quests here are varying and the story really makes you feel like you're in the game and are making a difference. The companion also appeals to people who don't want to group all the time, but all the heroics and flashpoints also appeal to groupers. Great game been playing in beta now I just love it.

Yes, i'm enjoying myself very much.

I don't require things like group finder tools and there also seem to be plenty of people looking for groups so it's really not necessary.

I can't say how long I'll be subscribing but it will be as long as I'm enjoying myself. I'm also part of a small group of players who have been playing together for some years now and they are enjoying the game as well.

The game so far is amazing i think, I have possibly tryed every mmo that has come out in the last 4 years, This one (So far) is the new number 1 MMO. As long as end game is as good as the rest of the game BW will have a gem on their hands.

There is so much more that can be added to the game and it Will only get better, Even the Space shooting is fun, I can see Co-op off rails coming in the future.

Well done BW I will 100% be subbing to this game for a long time to come.

Thing is, what people say after a few days is always upbeat,  once the 'newness' euphoria wears off things are usually different

Yes its the best MMO since WoW was released so not only will I be subscribing to a second month I will take advantage of one of the multi month offers . I expect starter areas to be linear after all the starter areas in WoW are linear as well and the game really only opens up after level 15-20 . Given this game has mutliple starter areas its less linear than Rift , Aion , AoC ,

I bought a 2 month prepaid.  Figure by then I'll be 90 days in and know if I'm sticking.

While I can understand some of your points, sounds is probably the one that made me laugh.  Just the score to this game is epic.  Lots of music, something to fit every mood.

    This

If you don't like a game don't play it, and quit running to MMORPG.com to trash it.

Yes.  I will be.  I'm only level 32 on my Bounty Hunter, just finished Act I and it was EPIC.  It's galvanized me to continue with this character and I'm literally looking at other classes while I play and wondering how their stories and armor progression is and the game is just pulling me in, easily.

Absolutely!   Personally, I think this game has the perfect mix of RPG and MMO elements.  There is plenty of group content but the game also allows players to immerse themselves in the story arcs without interuption.

  • GibboniciGibbonici Member UncommonPosts: 472

    Yep.

There's enough redundancy in the non-class missions to make alting viable and it'll become even more so as new worlds are released.

yes. i will keep playing. the deeper that i get into the game, the more features that i see and like. a lot of things that people "complain" about are actually resolved if you play past the "noobie levels"

Yes, It's fun enough, and the stories are great. I'm going to throw 6 months at it , then go from there.

  • RidrithRidrith Member RarePosts: 855

Forget subscribing after, I couldn't be bothered subscribing or even buying the game in the first place.  I played an hour of the beta and quickly figured out that it's just World of Warcraft under the guise fo a space-opera setting.  Same boring, tired path that all the other games have shown us in the last few years.

    /Yawnfest.

I like to complain about games.

Very true, however most people have been playing over a week at the very least 3 days If they did indeed get it on release. Me? Ive been playing since beta ...enjoying the game.

Yes, I will be subbing, I enjoy the game a lot.

  • ctacconi21ctacconi21 Member Posts: 18

ill stick to it as long as i have fun.

Im having a blast playing my inquisitor story, can't wait to start over with a brand new char.

After four days I know enough that I won't even set up credit card info to unlock the rest of my 28-day period included in my pre-order. Besides, I think it's outdated and stupid to demand credit card info 28 days before charging. Was fine five years ago.

  • David_LopanDavid_Lopan Member UncommonPosts: 813

At the rate that I play, I will be subbing for 4 months, maybe more. And much more after a major content release

  • ThillianThillian Member UncommonPosts: 3,156

    Absolutely not.

The game made me regret the 50E purchase already on the second day.

If I'm sitting in front of my computer, mouse in my right hand, keyboard in my left hand, I want to play, i.e. control my character, and NOT to watch poorly executed cut-scenes and dialogues. Poorly executed is a feeble word, they are in fact laughable, amateurish, and do not belong to this genre. The "--waiting for other members--" message when in group is simply a creation of an insane mind.

The stories are uninteresting, the gameplay is on rails, the world is an illusion, graphics are outdated and extremly cartoony, lots of UI options are missing (why can't I turn off the automatic camera resetting for heaven's sake), where the hell did the 130$ milions go?

    REALITY CHECK
