So please, for the sake of ToR... keep your addons there, keep your three button raiding play there, keep your daily hotfixes and "Hi All, we are briefly bringing down the servers for 30 minutes" every other day there.
Do not bring that to ToR. We like logging in and playing EVERY day.
Are you serious?
I guess you haven't played the 2 button combat of SWtOR yet

How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?
ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6. US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian. Subs will be so low there is no need for more Snoocky-How many servers? The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...
Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.

Simple. I hit 50 a few times in beta on each class on at least one side of the mirror.
There are plenty of skills available, but I always found myself coming down to the odd one or two.
Maybe the game changed loads after I gave up on it

This.
This is going to be the first mmo in a long while that I remember that crafting will be easy to learn, but difficult to master.
Seeing as how someone can't just take all the crafting jobs, no one will monopolize the market which means an economy dependant on ALL parts, not just one part.
Like right now, slicing is big. But later, Treasuring Hunting will be bigger (imo) because the only way crafters will be doing the highest level proccing is to have their companions Affection maxed. And that means lots of trophies, luxury items, and such because each companion like different things.
This game will do well simply because ToR figured something about that Trion as a new company doesn't know.. your ECONOMY is what makes a game run and what can ruin it. Not have many fancy builds you can add.
This is why most AH in Rift have been dead since Day 1 only selling a few items here or there. You know you have a problem with the main thing people were selling/buying off the AH was... shinies so they could get a white turtle.

No at lvl 50 no way you can survive just using two skills..that is not even possible. I didn't have several 50 in beta but i did have a lvl 50 BH and i am not buying what you said even for a second. You need to vent heat on regular basis and use shield along with self heals in tough situations because at higher levels mob hit quite hard..that is 3 skills alone for survival.

To be frank, all the 'SWtOR is teh awesome' posts by people that have been playing for a couple of days do tend to bother me a bit.

Just like i thought. You were making it all up. And no builds and skills are very much same and there has been no major changes. Classes still have to rely upon more than 2 skills jsut like it did during beta.
I have been playing SWTOR since august by the way and that is why i don't believe a word you just said. You still haven't given us the example of a classes and two buttons you relied upon all the time. I am waiting for it. Fo someone who had several lvl 50 in beta it shouldn' be that tough to name all the two buttons for all the classes you played to 50.

Are you sure you even play the game because you spend awful time here talking stuff you have no clue about. First of all acquiring best gear from crafting is not easy infact it is very expensive and based on RNG. You will have to reverse engineer a lot of purples and sink lot of money in underworld, investigation mission types. You would be lucky to get maybe one peice of legendery item which will be as good as the raid gear. Purples break into superior version and then if you are lucky you will get an epic from that superior purple which in turn can give you a legendary version. You think this walk in the park for crafters?
For crafter it is going to be an accomplishment to get the schematic they are looking for and i bet you will have to pay out of your nose for those gear peices.

honestly for me crafting is at the very bottom of the barrel on features i care about when playing.. Is a good system welcome? sure, and is this one better overall than rifts? yes it is but to me gameplay such as combat, skills, classes, ui, pvp are more important to me than stuff like crafting

Your first paragraph adds to my 'story' no? The no changes part?
I finished in September, so there would have been an overlap.
Here's a clue as to what I played:
Class: All
Skill: First skill and 8th Skill. Use the 'upgrades' if such a thing appears.
If they are only two, you should be able to name them in your sleep.
1 and 2. Merry Xmas
What class did you play?
What spec did you play it in?
What two SKILLS did you claim you've used to get to 50?
Merry Xmas ^^
If you skipped heroic quests and areas you could probably get through the game on two skills. Especially if you used a tanking companion. Regular mobs (non-heroic and non-'strong' mobs) are not much trouble and don't require much in the way of dps.
You wouldn't be leveling very fast though. Skipping all the harder content would be skipping a lot of xp as well. Power leveling it would not be. Methinks there's some hyperbole happening in there somewhere.
** edit ** If you grouped with someone on a regular basis, you could probably get by with one skill, even doing the heroic areas and doing flash points.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

This is a serious post, don't want any trolling rubbish. I have tried virtually every MMO there is at some point and wondering if I should jump into SWTOR now so not to get left behind. But got burnt with both AOC and FFXIV. So I am asking any players who have moved from Rift and setting up home in SWTOR. I have put in 1700 hours into rift, and barely scratched the surface on what there is to do, I really do enjoy it that much. But there is one thing that is concerning me, the population seems to be gradually dwindling, and that eventually kills a game for me. This is the bonus of SWTOR at the moment that I can see, and from all the negatove/possive stuff you read it looks like it could retain a healthy population. So what has drawn other people in that really liked rift, what is it offering that was missing? (And the Voiceover stuff doesnt really appeal to me as once I have seen it once, wouldnt really want to again. And wasntl too keen on the same kinda thing in Aion and AOC) Serious responses only please. Potential Buyer.
I would love to know how you play, by your own math, over 6 hours a day for the past 9 months and "barely scratched the surface of what there is to do" ? What do you do when you log in? I have serious doubts TOR can make you happy with playing 188 hours a month... I can't believe any game could.... Perhaps you should just play skyrim or something.
so basically you are saying it is now way easier to obtain that purple gear thats supposed to be hard to obtain.. And what you consider a feature that makes a game coulld be equally trivial for others so that kind of balance things out. But is crafting a step up from Rift and WOW type crafting? yes..is it going to actually mean something in game and for economy? absoutely. It might not be that important for you but crafters are going to play big part in over all economy of the game.
You might not be into it but in the end you will also benefit from it.

@popinjay lol damn if u think TOR requires skil wow u need to experience more mmo man...try C9 or even vindictus once in a while then ull know what requires skill and what doesnt i play the TOR beta was 1 of those beta that was basily painful to play cuz its just the same old combat system that every other mmo have, time has change , its the era of action mmo an mmo lik TOR, rift and etc.. won't last long cuz they are not considered ACTION mmo in any sense action mmo are like c9 and vindicus and i played both them, and if ur playing c9 thinking u can just spam button like u do in TOR and RIFT well let me tell u if u pvp ur just gonna get owned and ur gonna have to whine about classes being op when they are not

You realize how crazy that sounds? Here:

That's about how it sounds when you guys say this without listing any info.

I played Vindictus. It was a fun game. But really you didn't need skill. You could program the buttons to do the moves which I did because I didnt want to do all the mouse clicking involved. That game didn't take skill.
Really, all you need to do to play Vindictus honestly is:
Use your "Whirlwind" skill, no matter which class you used. As long as you were spinning in a circle, you hit mobs and they died. Then run a few feet and hit Whirlwind again.. same thing.
It was this way in Dragon Nest too, which was also a very fun game but really not skill wise.. just AoE everything.
Playing mmos you should know how and when to CROWD CONTROL. That takes skill. It also takes more skill to do that when you don't use Vent to tell someone "Hey CC the mob over behind the pillar" which I don't use right now playing ToR.
When someone breaks mez in ToR, people die or you have to work twice as hard on every job. It's really not as easy as you think because you guys are all LOW LEVEL beta guys who stopped.
If they are only two, you should be able to name them in your sleep.

as shadow im pretty sure i could just spam double strike and saber strike and do fine.. would be boring as hell though.. but the regular mobs you face through the story chain aren't a challenge in anyway.. but thats nothing new normal mobs are never a challange in any MMO

No you can't. Not past level 30 you are doing that.
Could you finally be honest with people here and reveal how high you played? It's pretty clear you never made it past 30, but you are pretending very hard to give that impression or even that you've gone through the higher Flashes using only two skills.

Take care
1 and 2.
Merry Xmas
Merry Xmas
What class did you play?
What spec did you play it in?
What two SKILLS did you claim you've used to get to 50?
Merry Xmas ^^
"TO MICHAEL!"
*rolls eyes*
How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?
ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6.
US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian.
Subs will be so low there is no need for more
Snoocky-How many servers?
The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...
Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.
wait this isn't the hello kitty adventure forums?? man been in the wrong place.. explains everything!
honestly for me crafting is at the very bottom of the barrel on features i care about when playing..

But yeah, I'm off out now. Have a good one
** edit **
If you grouped with someone on a regular basis, you could probably get by with one skill, even doing the heroic areas and doing flash points.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
/facepalm

I don't know you tell me is it? because you should know a bit more about the game you claim to play. I play the game so i know the facts.
I could care less if crafting is on bottom of barrel for you that wasn't the point.

cause I'm not an expert on the crafting system I don't play? i never said the crafting system sucked.. i was in a discussion about this game and rift and the only point being made was how great the crafting system was and to many this isn't a game making feature

If you skipped heroic quests and areas you could probably get through the game on two skills.
Again, you both claim that but you don't list what CLASS or what SPEC or what TWO SKILLS.
You realize how crazy that sounds? Here:
"I can play EvE with just two skills. I know this because I had several maxed ships in their beta."
That's about how it sounds when you guys say this without listing any info.
"TO MICHAEL!"
"TO MICHAEL!"
as shadow im pretty sure i could just spam double strike and saber strike and do fine.. would be boring as hell though.. but the regular mobs you face through the story chain aren't a challenge in anyway.. but thats nothing new normal mobs are never a challange in any MMO

PVE yes that would work but not in PVP

Could you finally be honest with people here and reveal how high you played? It's pretty clear you never made it past 30, but you are pretending very hard to give that impression or even that you've gone through the higher Flashes using only two skills.
It's really not so.
