Heh , it's funny since SWtor release, alot of people are writting on how WoW will be killed by SWtor. Be honest with me and with yourselves , out of all those playing TOR atm , how many will quit to play GW2? How many will quit then after to play Planetside 2? How many will quit TOR to head into Archeage? What about End of Nations?
Because WoW will never be killed since those that wait on new releases quit soon after to go into a new release. While WoW still keeps it's population. So in the end WoW loses nothing and TOR will be losing alot as the year goes by. Honestly , if TOR can survive 2012 , then I guess we'll be able to call it a good MMO. Because let's not forget that this new year (2012) is the year where a crap load of great MMO's / Single player games are being released along with the awaitted Wii-U. Also let's not forget the awaitted releases of Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2 that will yank away a good chunk of TOR players and almost every other MMO out there.
So yea , we'll try to have the same chat on December 31,2012 about how TOR is still a "great" game (Again if it can survive the year). Because even as we speak it's being overshadowed by GW2 that will triple if not more what TOR has sold since release. Also don't forget there is still WAY more people still playing GW1 then SWtor , and it's funny how the graphics are way better on TOR then GW1 yet GW1 is still more enjoyable since you got more people playing GW1 then TOR.
On a side note ; Rift should of gotten the MMO of the year award , TOR just got it because it's called Star Wars. Which is lame. If it were named "Star Bucks : The old rust bucket" Rift would of gotten the award. But I guess it's fair enough since I doubt we'l be hearing any stories about SWtor when 2012 ends. So might as well give them the award after working countless years on it. :P

Sudden? Where have you been these last few months?
Months? Where have you been these last few years?
Just reading myself , I can already say that SWTor got released at a bad timing and abit too late. If it were released a year ago , it could of had a solid loyal fan base to help them through 2012 (Since 2011 in whole was pretty crappy) , because 2012 is the year for do or breaks for any games being released.
pretty standard for every mmo release post WoW that they be deemed "WoW killer".
The funniest "WoW killer" was final fantasy 14 lol.. but people were still on these forumns stating it.
gw1 was supposed to be a wow killer almost got there but annouced gw2 too early, for the rest of the bunch in morpg or corpg ,they never cam even remotly close to gw1 achievement!swtor is the first gsme that is good enough with potnetial path enough that it might actually = gw1 success!.yes i am ignoring wow cause the statement of a wow killer is silly!
Well, TOR being linear with not much to do at end-game like warhammer, rift, etc... It will die off in a few months. WOW as so much content and exploration freedom that it will remain the king forever. even when they shut down all their servers. People hate WOW because they played it too much and got sick of it from being totally addicted. Sad...
I think TOR looks cheesy tbh, it's one of the few MMO's i haven't tried in the last few years... i'm tired of the same old crap of playing the shit out of the game for a month and moving on because it's boring and lacks content. Like it's too hard to make the level cap higher and add a ton of things to do before release, it won't become the next big mmo by having a level 50 cap and linear story with barely any freedom of exploration or anything else to do beside some dumb unbalanced MMO pvp.
SWTOR is prolly going to kill itself. It is not an MMO, sooner or later the SW fanbois will come to terms with the fact they are paying $15/month to play a single player RPG with multiplayer optins.
Anyone that still compares games to WoW is just ignorant. WoW has been dead for sometime now.
People have their own definition of what is considered as 'dead'. That is why discussions like these are pointless. WOW has been dead for sometimes now..yeah right.

You don't have to 'quit' any sub game to play GW2 because it won't have a sub fee. As far as the rest ... yes, game hoppers will always quit whatever they are playing to play the FOTM
Lol, just lol is all i can say.
Warhammer endgame? lol.
Rift end.game? lol
WoW came out at the right time, since many people who still plays that game proberly havent played better games like EQ1 & DAoC
wow this thread is amazing, all this talk of SWTOR dieing out this year. I don't think they spent $135 million for the game to last only a few months. Like any MMO they will add in additional content through regular updates and I am sure they have a solid road map to ensure that the game is a sucess. Will WoW die off as a result of this game, in a word no!! So for all those WoW diehards who get defensive everytime a new game comes out and they feel threatened you can relax, the only thing that will kill off WoW will be WoW2, if that is ever created and launched.
I am sure that SWTOR will still be kicking around in a few years along with Rift and GW2, there is a big market for these games and at the end of the day games like WoW need competition to ensure that the developers etc don;t get lazy and continue to improve these games.
it has been a pipe dream from mmo hater to see x,y,z game fail(legally it is called lobbying with or vs something ,here they call it troll.as we know lobbying of various field is huge business in usa.probably a trillion $ industry!so seeing lobbying come to gaming doesnt surprise me since those big game company often sponsor the top in their field, intel do it ,amd, nvida etc!so thinking lobbying doesnt exist in site like here is delusional it is like thinking wowhead, torhead etc etc etc doesnt support gold seller"(those site are gold seller owned lol!
Never really recall seeing on these boards statements SWTOR is a WoW-killer. Besides, even if it was, and actually somehow does kill WoW, it makes no difference to me. They're the same game, just "Star Wars." Even BioWare made it plainly known they wanted to copy WoW.

"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." There are enough threads discussing this guys. I'm going to lock this up.
