People "blazing" through content is undoubtedly "people" fault..not Bioware. I've been playing and enjoying the game consistently since the first day of pre-release and my Bounty Hunter just hit level 40. I'm happy with the pacing and I've yet to max out any crafting or run all flashpoints available to me. I've done all heroics questing planetside available to me .As diversion I enjoy PvP and the space mini-game. Plenty to do ...still.
I have been playing since it officially came out and am lvl 17. I love the quests and the voice overs, why anyone would race through this game is beyond me. Doin some space, helping people lvl up and also playing skyrim. So lvl cap is a long way off for me and i am enjoying almost every second of the story line
eddieg50, you are doing it wrong.
The only correct way to play an mmorpg is to get a bedpan and a nutrient iv drip, and play 25 hours a day.
After two weeks when you are at max level, you complain on the forums how little content the game has.
L2Play noob!
(The above post is not intended to offend anyone, and is intentionally sarcastic)
Man I must really be a slow leveler as I have a lvl 15 Jedi Counselor and a lvl 14 Imperial Agent. I didn't start playing until after X-Mas, but I can't fathom getting to 50 already.
I was gone for almost 2 weeks during the holidays and didn't get the game on release. But I am already level 41 playing for just over a week? The game is too fast. I am enjoying the story and the quests, but I am starting to see a lot of of the voice over dialog being used over and over again ... gets pretty stale honestly. It is basically the same 20-30 canned responses from your character.
I am pretty sure my initial guess was right. I will play the game until the 2 month mark, finish everything it has to offer and quit forever. The PvP isn't tight enough or fleshed out enough. And there are PUG groups that are finishing the raids. I am not sure why these companies expect people to pay a subscritpion fee for a game that is so easy a 8 year old child could finish all the content in under a month.
I see no way in hell any of the friends I know that play will be here past 2 months unless some major changes come. Most of them hit 50 already and are getting bored with it. After 2-3 weeks? That is freaking horrible.

Pretty much this. If you are level 50 within a week, you need to get out more, its really not healthy to play video games that much. I'm a pretty fast leveler, and my first character took 3 weeks. If it took any longer to level, the casuals would call it a boring grind fest.

No sir. You are not a fast leveler. Most of my guild m8's are already 50 lvl some days now. Very few that started with launch are not 50 by now (at least in my guild). The game is a very fast lvling one, not you

mm.. not really, even in the most efficient of leveling curves (taking away exploits and I know some that can get you 8 levels in under an hour) it will take you a couple weeks at around 8 - 16 hours a day. I know, because I had 2 weeks off and spent that entire time playing and DID reach right about to max level with about 150 hours played.
I've since taken my time on my other characters, and can see how slow leveling really is when you only play 2 - 5 hours a day.
Sure everyone will have a level 50 if they just knock out the content one mission after another, but it does actually take some time when you aren't in rush mode.

Well I can level to max level on EQ2 in 2 days, WoW in 4. Noone complains that leveling is too easy in either of those. BTW, 3 weeks means I got to 50 over a week ago... which seems more than equivalent to 'some days now'.

I know people who have 3 and 4 50's. You are not a fast leveler.
If you want, you can track it yourself without the need to keep posting it. Doesn't mean anything if they change the server caps, but so far they havent said they had.
Cheers for the link, will be interesting to see what happens come the 20th.
Are you really that easily swayed? I mean honestly, you ignored all the posts that stated and provided links about them raising the server caps which would basically make the informaiton posted irrelevant. And Bunks they have said they are gradually raising server caps. One person showed a link to such already. As stated per Bioware around December 21st:
He said,”We’re monitoring all of our servers around the clock, and we’re raising server population caps where required. However, to ensure our long-term goals of server stability and healthy populations, we do not want to raise population caps too rapidly. We want incoming players to populate lower population servers. At the same time, higher population servers will not be ‘locked’ because we want to allow people to join a server to play with their friends if they wish to.”
So with that in mind and it being January 10th (weeks after the statement) what do you think would truely effect that many servers at one time? You really expected them to leave the cap the same with so many having to deal with and complaining about ques? Logic people. They obviously raiseD the server caps. Just looking at the RP servers can tell you that because if any stick with a game long it is us rpers. It's why servers like Antonia Bayle (EQ2) and Starstrider (SWG) lasted so long when the games were spiraling. But the heaviest RP servers went from 15-20 minute ques to Full or Very Heavy.
I know people who have 3 and 4 50's. You are not a fast leveler.
Good for them? Maybe once they get all the Advanced Classes to level 50 they can discover daylight or employment.
So, you have to jump to insults cause you were wrong? Good job, sir. Infact, they work fulltime jobs and didn't take off any work for the game. So, it seems you were wrong twice.

I'd like to see each one of their /played, because having actually played the game to 50 multiple times myself, I can tell you, it takes a long time unless you are using exploits - which, aren't all really exploits.. I mean they are.. ... tricks would be a better term.

Not to say one way or the other, but go back and look at the data. They did not radically change on the 22nd, nor any day since. So if they actually changed server caps, there should have been an indication in the raw data at that moment. Please reread the article, and pay attention to what was actually stated.

Exactly. Either the poster is a troll or his mates are exploiters / basement dwellers.
I have played a lot of MMOs, and getting 4 characters to 50 on SWTOR within a month would take a lot more time than someone with a job would have available.
The vast majority of players are lingering around the 20-40 mark at the moment if you go visiting the various planets. The end game planet Ilum barely has 20 players at peak times on a full server.
As I mentioned earlier, I can get 90 levels in EQ2 over a weekend. SWTOR is pretty slow in comparison, even if a powerleveler can do it in a week.
Actually, the raising of the server population cap did happen and wasn't even fully raised for a number of servers 7-10 days or so ago.
You also don't really see any major decrease in the Xfire and Raptr figures for SWTOR, at the moment SWTOR shows almost as many hours played in Raptr on a day to day base as is shown for WoW.
Regarding leveling in SWTOR, there are a few tricks (exploits is maybe a too heavy word) that enables people with the help of others to level their toon a lot faster than you'd normally be able to achieve on your own.
I know people who have 3 and 4 50's. You are not a fast leveler.

Actually...his use of "or" means he is not necessarily wrong. As he said..."they can discover daylight OR employment".... so...your friends ARE employed as you've confirmed...but have they seen daylight recently?
Less then a month in and already xpac talk. You know they will milk people by putting out a string of xpacs and people will fall for it.
You do realize that they (Bioware) probably have enough content shelved for the 1st two xpac's right?
Just a smart marketing/project management guess.
Yup. Milk milk milk....another reason to play sandbox games
Maybe YOUR reason but not OUR reason. Quit hijacking the thread troll.
The thread is about people leaving because of content. Which I'm talking about so get off your high horse and realize there's better games out there. Also most, if not all sandbox games do free content releases (eve to be one).
There is not better games out there if youve played the majority of sandboxes out there now. Lets name them.....
EVE-I cant get into it, especially the space combat. Targetting and pressing "Fire" once on your guns until the target is destroyed doesnt appeal to me. In addition, I dont like not having a character that can walk around.
Darkfall- No skill cap. Nuff said. Is there enough sand here? PVE drops are too plentiful. Why do I have to craft? Oh because it means something at end-game?
Mortal Online- The developers have not added enough to this game to make it a long term play option. In addition the free-reign of exploiters and exploitable mechanics makes the grinding you do meaningless(am I going to build a keep if someone can overhead swing through the keep walls so that they can set up a balista inside the keep)
Wurm online-the graphics are an obstacle for me.
Fallen Earth- an ok sandbox game but nothing you havent seen before in terms of sand or tools.
Xyson- great crafting and resource but no one to share it with because holding territory means nothing especially when there isnt many people playing it.
After being bored with WOW last year, I jumped into RIFT waiting for SWTOR, Once SWTOR came out, I jumped into it, but again, I can't quench my thirst. Something is missing in that game, and I can't quite put the finger on it. It' s an alright game but somehow I feel disapointed and I'm getting bored again after almost a month of playgame. The fact that the servers are so dead doesn't help either, I happen to play for a couple of hours without meeting anybody. Also the LFG needs a serious help. I don't know, personally, I play SWTOR just because I'm bored. I guess now I'm waiting for GW2 to see if it's going to do the trick for me.
It is not that you are bored of a specific game, you sound bored of gaming...WHich is a good thing, it means you will get more fresh air, don't fight it.
Wait wait, this thread is about people leaving because of lack of content?
Lack of content?
In TOR?
Pardon me while I lol
People who rush to endgame and quit are not new to TOR.
I don't worry about them though, they'll just rush to endgame and quit in GW2, in TSW, in Archeage, and any other game that exists because that's just what they do.
"I played for 326 hours straight. You should have made more content / ragequit."

You know what I find hilarious? That you think 3 weeks is not "blazing through content". Anything shorter than 2 months is "blazing" IMO. I would much rather be leveling up and struggling a bit more with the content than simply plowing through it like no ones business.
Then again, I am not part of the tard gaming crew that exists these days. Where max level means everything, and the faster you get there, the better.
