So here is the deal – I’ve been playing Riot’s League of Legends since it pretty much debut as the premier MOBA (Multi-Player Online Battle Arena).
My original account never enjoyed high rating success with a max life-time rating of around 1500 (ELO) – Why I enjoy playing this sort of genre I don’t know, I played DotA when it original launched in Warcraft 3 as Defense of the Ancients – So maybe I enjoy the replayability of it – it’s addicting.
While success may have eluded me, time, and money invested into the account did not.. my account which was roughly 2 years old had around 250-300.00$ USD invested into it –
Last month my account was perma-banned – That’s pretty intense right?
So what did I do to get perma-banned? Oh, quite simple.. I got tired of hearing my team-mates belittle each other, and put them all on ignore, and played out the match in serene silence.. Unknown to me, while I could not see what they were saying the decided that our loss was my fault, and the correct course of action was to report me, which they did.. and in turn I was perma-banned, but if that seems extreme let me explain to you the banning system that Riot uses.
In order to save money, and not hire MODS/GMs to police their report system – Riot employs the “Tribunal system”, to be judged by 5 of your fellow gamers…
What required to judge a tribunal case is vague, I’ve not seen much other then a level 30 account, it doesn’t even have to be in good standings as I’ve known people to judge cases WHILE their account had been banned for feeding, trolling, and EVEN exploiting.
Meaning that the people judging the murder case, might just be murders them-selves! (Crazy right?)
So essentially the system works with a majority voting / tier punitive system – if 3 people vote to punish you then the system issues you a punitive action of some sort.
First it starts off as a Warning, then another warning, followed by a 1 day ban, then 3 days, then a week, then 2 weeks, then perma-ban –
It’s really a short trip to perma-ban city if you think about it –
For your case to end up in the tribunal more than 2 people (Regardless of team) must report you for the same infraction –
Since the system is automated from input, if you play a large volume of games, and you get accused/reported unjustified for a wide array of infraction you can be banned, and not even told –why- you were banned, an automated E-mail is sent, account locked, and that’s that –
Based off what? Little to know reason really – If you play as many games for as long as I did.. well chances are you will be unfairly judged..
That alone I could deal with.. but a perma-ban on accounts with triple digits of RMT invest is beyond ludicrous, especially when the infraction were not severe enough to even warrant a ban…
I’ve never seen perma-bans issued for anything outside the MOST extreme of infractions, usually along the lines of cheating/hacking/exploitation/stalking/real life violence –
As this system is automated, and tiered.. you could find yourself losing out on your money with out rime, reason, or being told that the path leads to such a destination.
Beware before you spend on LoL

That's F2P games for you.
Even though LoL is ok and f2p actually suit MOBA games (in opposition to mmorpg's imo) , then this things WILL happen.
They don't want to spend huge amounts of money on support and well they won't since it is very popular f2p game (literally thousands of new accounts everyday) so that's why their tribunal system in place.
Well I am not really into MOBA games so don't play LoL and in mmorpg's genre I don't play f2p / freemium games anymore for various reasons.
So sorry - tough luck it seems.
I do understand why you muted them as LoL is game with one of worst community out there (have many colleagues playing it) with alot of shit-talk in games - just common thing afaik.
You DO know that the tribunal isn't the final step right? When do we get to hear the whole story?
You're lying... Riot would never perma-ban a paying customer without good reason. I know, I've raged from time to time over 2-3 years and have only met a one day suspension. So what you did, do, or how you act must be horrible. Correct yourself and get your emotions in check then you'll never go through this again.
Oh and Riot said many many many times... tribunal lets players determine how bad someones actions are... then RIOT has the final say on punishment.
Everything I say is my opinion or personal preference. You may or may not find it useful to your cause but regardless I am entitled to it.
I mute everyone in game all the time, it's actually why I'm not perma banned.
This is standard here. Someone gets banned, comes here to talk about the unfair / corrupt / evil systems of the game.
Someone else eventually finds the real story, and it turns out our innocent player actually sold 30 million dollards in gold selling, killed a puppy, and shot JFK.
for me is simple if you cheated you should be perma banned since you sure don't know what is fair play, and you shouldn't be playing with the good ones, and since RMT is cheating, you have your answers.
even in that case , to be banned he cheated in some way so he still should be perma banned, is not because someone spend money in a game it would give him a green card to exploit and cheat
