thinking of going back to WoW- one question

I've been playing other games for the last few months and have an urge to resub to WoW, specfically because i enjoy the healing mechanics of the game.  But, I've read about the expansion, something about pandas and pokemon, and i;m worried that Blizzard is aiming at a young audience these days.  My question: Is the game now full  of kids? I;m in my late 20s, am i too old for the game?

    Wasn't this always the case.

Hm, maybe.  I remember a more mature playerbase during vanilla and BC, though.  I had trouble getting into the last two expansions, though, and felt that the community died.

ok you make a good point, i think i will find something else

What would be funny is if there's actually the Old God named "N'Zoth" was based on the deity from the Cthulhu Mythos called "Nyog'Sothep" (aka the Nameless Mist) somewhere on that island of pandas. Get it? "N'Zoth" is like a shortened "Nyog'Sothep"? The Nameless Mist in Mists of Pandaria? Imagine if a parent bought WoW for their kids thinking it was going to be full of cute lil' pandas and all of a sudden there's some Cthulhu god causing their kid to scream.

Nothing, just speculation on where the WoW lore is going. WoW Old God lore is heavily based on Cthulhu. They even name the Old God characters in WoW after the deities they are based off of.

Edit: But of course, I don't really like WoW lore anymore. If you were in WoW patch 4.2, you know why. Green Jesus (Thrall). And in 4.3 they finally gave Aggra an important role after just being put into the spotlight at the start of Cataclysm. They made her the mother of Thrall's baby. Yes, he basically fell in love with his teacher. It made me feel awkward.

Edit again: If you want a story then don't play WoW. It died with Arthas.

people that judge games and  {play / dont play} games because others say so are just dumb people. OP if you like the game, resub and check how it is doing. Mature people and kids both swarm all games, specially WoW since its still the mmorpg beast. Yes the next expansion has pandas, the game already had cows and Cataclysm brought wolves, not a problem. And the "pokemon" thing is something you would never touch in game if you dont want to and still be a top player. It is just a mini game so your non battle pets are useful... i really dont see the problem because all this time non battle pets have been useless in WoW. But i still dont use those pets and dont plan to use that system. Still enjoy WoW at its fullest

have fun and dont let other people control what you should do or play. Its your money and your time

Pandarans were typically a race that was intended for The Burning Crusade but we got the goats instead, also about the pet battles in the upcoming expansion i personally am looking forward to it, it finally gives you a use for your compansions rather than just running around behind you.

Find an adult guild and stick within that community, there are always kids in MMO's that will never change, I'm 23 and have the perfect guild with the type of players i wish to play with.
