When DAOC was released, the so called holy grail of RvR PvP on the planet, it didn't HAVE an endgame. The game was completely unfinished. And the first PvP battles, when they finally did have them, were comical /stuck fests.

I can forgive a new game having a limited end game

I can forgive a new game having poor 5-6 year old graphics

I can forgive a new game having almost 0 crafting

I can forgive a new game being riddled with bugs (dc from WZ queue and Ilum anyone?)

But having no real PvP end game, the most banal, bland PvE I have ever witnessed. Guilds and large groups having no role or importance is ludicrous!

Though I enjoy Pokkets videos I must disagree I spent a couple weeks at 50 and have now unsubbed. There simply is no notable endgame. Warzones, world bosses, datacrons, (most) flashpoints I did while leveling. Yes flashpoints have difficulty modes (great way to avoid having to think of actual content) I feel a fool for wasting my money buying this game.

I am on the record (check posts) defending this game saying that it is a medicore game but shut up and enjoy it. I would like to take that back. It is below medicore, unworthy a 'AAA' rating. I wash my hands of EA and BW.

The fact of the matter is there is a very very limited amount of content to do endgame. The raids themselves are at a laughable difficulty, the touted world pvp they were so proud of has been proven to be a joke (they had to remove the flight paths to get out to the world pvp because they don't know what they are going to do to fix it yet), and the only thing you can do at the moment to improve your character is to either run the instances over and over and over or do some warzone pvp, which in itself is actually pretty fun until you realize the reward youre getting from it is a bag with a chance to have a random piece of loot. BW has failed pretty hard in this area, you can randomly get the same piece of loot you already have from this and also from the raid chests, you get assigned the same piece of loot you already have when there is another one of your guildmates of the same class who hasn't gotten even one piece yet. You want so badly to give them the gear, but you can't because of how piss poor BW's development is. Granted this is in normal mode where you have this issue, but it prevents you from helping guildies get geared up for content.

I personally don't see the issue with people cancelling their accounts at this point, and I think they have every right to in this day and age. Devs have had plenty of time to learn from others mistakes, and there is no excuse to release an end game that is in the state TOR is.

My only complaint about this game so far is why they haven't come up with a username login system vs using the email address.  I'm SO freaking tired of having to change my password a couple of times a day just to play.  Hackers? Please, you're not getting in, simply as that, but I'm getting annoyed at finding my account locked CONTINUOUSLY!!!  How about Bioware/EA pony up some cash and find these IP's that are trying to get into these accounts?

I've enjoyed the game, I just wonder about some of their design choices (don't get me started on the walled in zones....arghhh).

How could the levelling time be longer? All the quests are fully voiced.

And there is only so many masochistic mechanisms to extend the existing content that players will accept. The levelling speed fells ok to me, but I've yet to find a Class that I feel really comfortable with.

It's worse that it's linked to origin so my SWTOR user/pword is the same as my BF3... that is just stoopid.

I had no desire to play SWTOR end game as it felt so detached from my players story. I wont explain myself because i wouldnt want to ruin the Inquisitor story for anyone.

Well then someone would say "then roll an alt!"

I did but the combat feels clunky the UI is horrible and travelling is TEDIOUS so i just couldnt roll an alt and go through the frustration.

Its just not a very well though out game with good parts to it.

    Playing: PO, EVE
    Waiting for: WoD
Favourite MMOs: VG, EVE, FE and DDO
Any person who expresses rage and loathing for an MMO is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae.

    Impressive.

I asked people why is there so much hatred on the forums, because I just don't see how people can't see the potential in this game.

They said "too busy to get on forum, must keep playing"

    Real players are mostly playing.

Whiners are hating, and those of us stuck at work who can't play are the only ones here to represent the voice of reason. Things have become very skewed in the forums.

Don't like the game? quit. Go click a exclamation point and collect 10 chits and return to the question mark to read the quest text and collect the reward.

Me, I have patience. This game is going to be something special and if you cn't see it, you just haven't been looking hard enough.

What you just said means only thing: this game will only appeal to less than overzealous players.... leveling slower will keep the game alive longer because there isn't meaningful ongoing endgame.

So according to this video, there's only three things to do in this game end game. pug dungeons, pvp instanced pvp zones, or do dailies. Yep sounds like another game i'm going to be leaving soon, some days i don't even bother logging in and the only reason why im on that one, friends are still there. :)

Right, it has nothing to do with the fact that it is incredible easy to level in this game?

I mean if you are not purposfully trying to slow down your leveling and just go through the content, and not reroll alts, it does not take more than maybe 50-60 gaming hours to hit level cap. That is like a month of gameplay for an average active gamer.

Not true at all I've only reached level 30 playing "normal" for about 3 weeks, I haven't rushed but I certainly haven't slacked. Hell I don't even do side quests all I've done is class quests and BG's (which is one of the fastest ways to level) Played from about 10pm until 4:30 am only got about half a level.

I think this is great. I have pleanty of time left for endgame, with trying to play three toons at the same time. And i love that people are so riled up about how they think its lacking in all sorts of ways, funny enough i dont see it. Playd alot of mmos, even more muds. Allways the same story, fix this or i quit. Its the best way to improve a game, maybe not. Good luck with all that whining. Me om going back in for some more Hutball action.

Exactly what i mean about spoiled generation

This (Thodra's response) is exactly why games DON'T have any valuable endgame. The idiocy in your comment is beyond reproach. Because there are fools who believe that everyone should continue paying for an unfinished or ill implemented game until the point that it either gets some content or has some adjustments made (or just plain goes free to play or is shut down) game companies can push out complete crap and take money for it and hope that there's enough playerbase left if they ever get around to completing/fixing it.

Start asking for your money's worth and stop paying when you realize it isn't worth paying for. Give the game companies a reason to actually make a good game before they start taking your money and quit reasoning that the only way a game can become good is if it continues to receive support from enough idiots with more money than sense. They're not going to go bust having to finish a game first, it'll weed out a lot of the crap as the publishers decide which projects they are willing to finance until they're ready. Stop letting them rip you off when a project has exceeded it's projected launch/budget by just banging out whatever crap they have at the time.

This is what those who think this way do not get. Many feel they are getting what they want, and the price of entry was fine. Some expect all standards to represent their own, it doesn't work that way.

The fact of the matter is some are not getting what they want, yet others are. All that those who aren't have the option of doing is trying to play games they don't want or play nothing at all.  Problem is many try and do the former, and expect those games to fill their needs (even though they know they won't). In turn they come to forums blasting those games, when their true bone to pick should be toward the genre as a whole, not a specific company or game.

ive been playing since early access. Granted i have like 5 characters going but i play 2 mostly and one is only a 25 the other a 24 that i play with gf. i find levelign as a group faster then solo.

i dont play 20 hrs in a day or even 10 but when i do play i ususly do so 3 hrs at time and i havent even got a 50.

The thing is endgame is most mmo's is dailies, pvp and dungeons and raids. I dont know about sandbox games but in a themepark game what else is there to do other then farm for mats or roll alts.

i dont know what people expect at end game. i really dont

if u are gonna trash end  game at least say what u want or its missing . r vs r pvp isnt the only good pvp u can have by the way although some treat it as such.

The PvP is terrible. The reason people quote RvR as the best PvP is because it fits the MMORPG genre perfectly. It's about massive fights, building your community and working together to bring down the opposing sides. You don't need RvR to have good PvP, but it can certainly encourage. I think in terms of just oPvP, WoW pre-BGs gets suggested a lot. There you could just roam WPL/EPL, STV, Gadgetzan, etc. and find or make good fights. And it was insane during the short time that PvP ranks/rewards were in prior to the launch of BGs.

Meanwhile instanced PvP is about none of that. Instanced PvP tried to copy multiplayer FPSs, but didn't copy anything that makes them good, not that it would fit in the MMO world with static characters/factions. There's never any balance, or any way to balance teams, whereas an FPS server can auto switch teams or prevent team stacking. Plus they can kick/ban and there's no reason to AFK jam in an FPS. And depending on the game, you can have custom maps, so it isn't the same 2 or 3 maps ad nauseum. With BGs as the primary form of PvP, devs get lazy and don't even bother to attempt to balance faction pops, so inevitably one faction is going to have horrendous queues. Scoreboards just lead to people farming stats with AoE spam for dps/hps, kill stealing/sniping for DBs or preserving a reasonable KDR, which might be ok if BGs were just team deathmatch, but they usually have some stupid capture mechanics or ball carrying. And just to make sure their crappy BGs get used, they attach the best PvP gear to it (the best because they've made a ridiculous PvP stat and those items have the most).

So what's wrong with the endgame PvP-wise? In short, 3 warzones, grinding WZs for gear, the worst PvP zone/mechanic ever made in Ilum, RNG PvP reward bags (you either have a full set in a week or 10 relics), no attempt to balance factions, zones designed for as little faction intermingling as possible, etc.

Curious ( and not flaming or baiting you at all ) where you think/hope the game will go ? I get the stories, but frankly they are better in single player RPGs ( Mass Effect etc ) ... So I am curious what you think we will see in the future, or why ( other than what we see today ) this game is going to evolve into something great ?

    thanks !

This is false. Can't count features in TOR that still don't work properly as having it.
