Your original post on the SWTOR forums seemed pretty well within the so-called "respectable" guidelines that SWTOR Community Managers demand. I didn't see any profanity, I didn't see any immature name-calling, I just saw a lot of issues that others have pointed out, and you seem to have found them as well. So color me NOT surprised when I saw the Community rep respond with:
Hey folks,
While we do appreciate and read feedback, both positive and negative, we do ask that said feedback is constructive and respectful. If you need some guidelines for doing so, we do have a post here via our Dev Tracker that explains it:
It's been my impression as of late that you're only allowed to voice your opinion if you're a sycophantic suck-up fan of the game, the developer, and the Star Wars franchise.
In the beginning, I started out defending the game AND Bioware, thinking; "The game just released, they need time to get settled in and they'll start addressing the issues people come up with as soon as they start identifying them."
But after seeing more issues arise after each patch, I'm astounded that they would even dare to claim that they had implemented any "fixes" except a few of the most minor ones.
As game-breaking as some issue have been even after the most recent patches, my evaluation of the game is that it's still in beta stage, and should not have been released.
I never expected my opinion of Bioware to fall so drastically, I have admired and respected everything else they have done, but this just seems to be far below the standards they have established for themselves in other projects.
Yeah, its fine to express your opinion, but we all have to becareful not to cross that line. I can understand how you see it and why you would p****d that they closed your thread/post. But I can also see why they did that, there is a fine line on what is feed back and what is not, if its just going to be a disrespectful post towards the staff of the game then it isn't feedback, its insults. We all made that mistake once, just becareful what you type and how you express your opinion thats all
I wanted the game to run smoother and not clunky and laggy. I have the system to back it up to max things out, but when you see you can't do that, it get's kind of fustrating. The voice acting/ questing in this game are hands down the best i've seen in an MMO, but that's just not enough for me. It's weird to start it off, I didn't like how powerful your toon was before you were level 10, it almost felt rushed, especially since there's a lvl cap of 50. The combat system is a recycled setup that's been in most of the MMO's I've played and I think I'm personally not enjoying it anymore. Planets felt too empty and didn't have enough exploration for me, some of them did, but most didn't...so planet hoping felt to soon. Flash points at least a few were actually quite entertaining and felt refreshing from most dungeons I would run from other games, but only a few grabbed my attention. Guild features are lacking and still missing, I know it's coming in soon, but this should of been in the game day one. My biggest disapointment is, that I purchased the CE of the game and barely made it into 2 months before I step away from the game. Im sure the game will be great when more content is added, the engine is tweaked to the point of working more smoothly and patches started piling in. I may return someday, just not sure if it's going to be this year or not.

I can't relate how much it surprises me so many people are openly accepting the treatment they are recieveing from Bioware with SWTOR. When a point is brought up about a negative that is more than obvious and sometimes not so obvious all you get is babble in return. It's like their auto-attack or something...
"The game is only X months Y weeks and Z days old! You are newb and don't know WTF you're talking about. Too bad you power leveled through everything you locust. Why don't you reroll on Republic side and Blahhh guy blaahhhh... BUHBYE"
Just like clockwork those same folks start to feel this creeping crawl begin to inch it's way up their biodrenched shoulders as the hours in game begin to pass. They notice less and less new faces in general chat, less newb questions being asked and more gripping about why they haven't fixed (insert issue) yet. Then they come to forums much like these after having their original post removed from the SWTOR forums within 10 minutes after taking close to an hour to get it just right. Being careful not to include any vulgarity, or inflamentory remarks they bob and weave every trolltempt with expert skill. They focus on nothing but the facts and get smacked by the very side they used to be apart of.. Ironic isn't it?
"Ah, you're just BAD and umadbro.. L2P bw and the gudz luv ur QQ.. moar QQ.. Blaaaahhh guy blaaaahhhh.. BUHBYE.."
(One guy actually brought up not "having enough money and being poor" as being a reason people were QQ'ing about not liking SWTOR; really Biodrone war on the middle class now?)
These people make me laugh more than my own folly in thinking SWTOR was really something more. Since early release I had the chance to see the flood gates open and part of that 1.7 Million hit my server; which was full with ques when the game went live. I got a chance to really start hitting some of the issues in live before many others and the ones before me had mentioned them beforehand but I really didn't understand until I got to them myself. Illum was one I didn't get to till about a week or two after hitting 50, I accomplished more /getdowning in fleet to "Carbines in the Wind" that participating in the boxfest it is in Illum.
"Bioware never said they were making a pvp game, you should've did your homework.. I'm happy with my experience and you suck.. Leave my game alone!"
I don't get upset with these folks they are the RP crrowd for the most part and having strong RP roots myself I see where they are. Their enjoying the experience within what SWTOR does best; their story. The blissfull blindness is something I wish I still had. In my case the state of the MMO scene is not very innovative for the most part. So even though SWTOR is really this lackluster doesn't surprise me really. It's just unfortunate that someone took a big chance on an MMO in general with $300 Million in assets. That's unheard of dude for real. Less money was spent on making AVATAR for fucks sake..
END OF RINE!.........RINE END HERE!!!!! Blaaah guy blaaaahhh BUHBYE!
PM before you report at least or you could just block.
I've always found posts like this really silly... no, you don't know the OP, you won't miss the OP. The OP's money however, will be missed by EA, trust me.
Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.
SWTOR just lacks the freedom that more and more players these days are starting to yearn for. Most players who play a new MMO are ex-WoW players, so experiencing another game that is similar or even more locked down isn't so good.
"The game is only X months Y weeks and Z days old!
How long are the defenders of the galaxy going to keep repeating this excuse? 3 months in? 6months in? Bad design is bad design no matter how old the game is.
Really? This game sucks and Im not having fun? Im going to unsub right now. Thanks for the tip.

No it wont. I just convinced 3 more real life friends of mine to start playing this game. So 2 more of these people can quit now without EA missing them at all.
As for the OP, as a past forum moderator myself, I can tell you this much. The second that post went to implying the company which runs the forum was a liar, even before the post actually came out and said exactly that, but the second it was implied....your post was considered non-constructive. Every word after that point was already tainted by the attitude presented in that first couple of lines.
To you it may not have felt you did anything wrong, and to those that hate the game and feel the same as you, to them too you may have not done anything wrong, but you had. Haters have thier own version of rose colored glasses, and people who wear the same shade see things alike, it doesn't mean what they see is what is really there though.
(DISCLAIMER - The use of the word YOU in the above post is not directed at any one person in particular, but towards those who fall into the category itself - there is no personal attack here, neither intentional nor implied.)
It is just amazing how game companies lock all threads that talk negative about their game. I know that Mortal Online has done this, now we have SWTOR, and they do this as well. I have had problems with a clan in a different game as well, and they try to cesnor and get all threads or tops of mine locked on any message board as well needless to say I will just keep posting my opinions on Un Moderated Sites where they can't get them removed without court orders such as Blogger, and such which without an actual order Blogger will not do any takedown requests or at least unlikely.
SWTOR could have been such a great game, I had hopes for it not because I love star Wars, I hate the new StarWars movies, the old ones a are good but the new ones kinda killed the old ones. Anyways I had my hopes for this game but the game simply couldn't deliver what I expected from a 2011 based MMORPG title. and looks like something designed and completed in 2008 or before.
The List.
The Lag and loading times if it takes more than 1.5 seconds to load then there is a serious issue going on it really shouldn't take long to load.
The Lack of customization in the game.
The decisions that the Developers have made which other players of the game do not like, and trying to cover up posts by locking them it is just really sad.
The only good thing that I liked about the game was the Story, and the Lightside/Darkside Options, although even at times the dialogue choices were not specific about what you were going to say and as a result you could get light/dark you didn't want.
I might buy the game if they decide to do a lot of majro changes but until then I am staying away from SWTOR for a lot of reasons, and hey it just might go Free 2 Play or stick in a cash shop, but that depends on their management, and income from the game, I can say this though if they are making enough profit and they stick a cash shop that might kill the game just like NCsoft did with Aion.
As long as Bioware is no longer getting his money then his opinion was heard loud and clear. The game sucks no-1 likes it and its on the fast track to F2P.... facts all facts

Good for them? I don't appreciate paying 50$ for a game that does not even work properly. It had terriable buggy release and they diminished the Star Wars IP, as if Galaxies was not enough.
Like I said I would LIKE to see this game die, it does not deserve any of the hype it got, plus a AAA company like Bioware should have been ables to produce a fully funtional only slightly buggy game. It is a MMO so some bugs are bound to happen but this is too many.

All well and good, sorry you didn't enjoy your experience, I was just taking issue with your claim that "no one" likes SWTOR and perhaps your claim that the title is on the fast track to F2P. Your post was actually quite short of 'facts' outside of the one one where you didn't like it.

Game works pretty good for me. i got a lousy computer XP at work and I can do most things, just cant do warzones. My vista at home runs it with little problems.
All software has bugs, and they always will. Making it sound like there's heaps of game breaking ones, which is implied by such anger is simply a joke. Most of bugs are lifestyle issues, and are being fixed and can be worked around. There has also been way more buggy games released.
Might as well just state " [insert game] sucks", as that pretty much sums up forums here. Which is kind of sad, as when a game comes along that really does suck nobody takes reviews seriously (i.e. FF XIV).
Still plenty of people enjoing SWTOR, and other games that apparently suck as well.
It all boils down to this. If you played KotOR 1 or 2 you knew what you were buying. Everyday I see these treads where someone is like ASS in there main post and is like (What profanity?) why did my post get locked.

I enjoyed Kotor myself and I disliked this game... so you can't exactly say that you would know what your buying. Outside story focus, its a lot different to kotor in my opinion. Even story wise, it feels far less sound then kotor since it needs to be able to be more flexible and can't be as well guided.
SWTOR just lacks the freedom that more and more players these days are starting to yearn for. Most players who play a new MMO are ex-WoW players, so experiencing another game that is similar or even more locked down isn't so good.
See? Now there's a nice intelligent reply that doesn't insult anyone and also happens to be very true. There is utility in the OPs post. He's stopped playing a game he was likely looking forward to for a long time because it didn't live up to understandable expectations. He's far from alone is his opinions and there are a lot of us who like hearing his opinion. He has a right to voice that on an open forum without being flamed. If people still enjoy said game, good for you, but don't get abusive because there are other opinions other than yours out there. Better still, read the title of the posts and if it sounds like it might contain nasty contrary opinions about your favorite wickle game then don't open it and you won't get upset.
1st you dont need to use colorful words. This does not nor ever has made you look intelligent.
Anyway you can't just bash the game and expect to get away with it. You have to post good with bad. Then it does not work you come crying over here.
And this "most are wow players" lol this is always the reason behind why people are not happy, why the game is failing blah blah. Its ALWAYS the other guy. And what are the odds the person saying it ..yep "I never played wow"..
And please its been what 2..TWO months. This mmo will be around for 2 years at least so you can keep saying sink or swim all you want.. its still going to be here next month and if your not playing? Yeah no one cares.sorry..
