wtf, somebody inside funcom had to have leaked this, no way someone random just discovered it
Actually the guy that discovered it says he is a programmer with too much time on his hands he claims he was looking at the website source code and noticed something unusual so took it apart and stumbled on it.
its germanic, old germanic, most commonly known as old english. it was a mix between a language the old german war tribes used and altered slightly during french raids on churches which had some of the only written language.

You might be on to something. It almost seems like a combination of elder futhark and old english.
There's only one symbol I haven't found yet (outlined in red):
Just be aware there is no source code for the rune page, it is simply an image and duh anyone looked to see if its bigger that it should be if saved as an image.
Just came to me as I was typing that , that the runes could be nothing but a red herring.
if theres puzzles like this in the actual TSW game it may fustrate alot of people and you will often see in one or more of the chat channels "how do you fit all 5 stones into the statue for begginer quest"
Guys all it is, is the ancient and sacred flush toilet of the Great God Imhotep. The litte sigil is a warning. It says "Terrible curses and ruin to those who disturbeth my rest, and to those who useth all the bog roll and do not replaceth thus."
Or some crap like that. Honestly you little Scoobies get hysterical over the least little things.

This is amazing. Already set into buying this game just from these puzzles.
Some silly notes: 24 characters in the language. Is it a possibilty that the Inner-7'oclock rune is a combo of the '<' symbol for K along with Inguz 'slanty square' for ng just combined into one rune? According to Funcom forums; these runes appear 'alphabeticaly'. Maybe it's a society's mark. The one rune disrupting the flow, casuing chaos.

the outlined symbol is very similar to the free masons square and compase symbol in shape. just thought id point that out.
edit: in fact, now that i've started to do some cross checking of symbols, it is the only symbol that doesn't match with any of the variations of elder futhark. it is similar to some but it differs because of the tails coming off of the central diamond shape, which is what makes it appear as the masons symbol.
Well its believed that rune stones were left in North America by Swedish Templars sometime in the 1400's. The above looking similar to the Kensington Runestone I tried using the translations from the Larsson Notes to spell out Templar and FunCom. No such luck on either account.

The Ultimate Breakdown
Nice touch...
Generally speaking, PvE is a bore. So I want this game to scare me witless. The occasional good joke would go down well too.

I was going to look at this until it turned off the signal going to two of my three monitors
As in went black?
Or did the blue screen with 'No Signal' in the middle of it pop up like it's supposed to do(and like the article says it does)?
Or is this a very terribly executed troll?
"The knowledge of the theory of logic has no tendency whatever to make men good reasoners." - Thomas B. Macaulay
"The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge." - Daniel J. Boorstin
Two went black and said no signal on the screen, one had part of it blue.
Those runes look like the ones in the back of Lord of the Rings. Elf runes if I remember right...
I was thinking of the glyphs from Stargate...
I might know what it is. I'll post it in a few minutes
BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.
That is working as intended. Had the exact thing happen. Got a message "no signal". I waited and suddenly got the image.

I've been searching for that symbol as well. The dots on the outside might be strategically placed .
