Basically, it released in Korea with 50 level cap and two dungeons. That's it.
As of this time right now it has 7 endgame dungeons with two difficulties, it has Guild vs Guild and the political system and some other training ground i'm not really aware of. The level cap is also 58 now and it has two different battlegrounds.
By the end of this month it will have a level 60 level cap, another two more endgame dungeons, daily quests and monster invasions which will require 20 people to defeat. As well as adding in new headgear and shops where you can buy cosmetic items using your points from dailies.
Not to mention Open World PvP will be unrestricted on PvP servers now for those people who enjoy that.
So to sum it up briefly they've added 9 dungeons, GvG battles, 20 man monster invasions and 10+ new zones to explore. Basically nothing.
They have basically added nothing the whole year, you're right.
Edit: I didn't really read the part about us consuming content until I posted this, anyways, how often does WoW release content? Certainly not at the speed TERA is, and they charge you for it, yet 10million people still play that game and just do the same thing every day at endgame. So, we may consume content fast, but clearly we still stick around.
They admittedly released an unfinished game. Its not that they are adding this new stuff, they are putting in what was supposed to be there from day 1.

That doesnt mean they are producing any slower. Yes it sucked in the start, but they are going fast, which is good. Not to mention, when it releases in the NA/EU it will be feature complete (hopefully after all this extra dev time).
I totaly agree with the op opinions and the known facts that tera untill now has been yet "another one bites the dust" mmorpg, and will continue so in Europe and US of A
As of right now in Korea, Tera is the 4th most played mmo in Korea and the 7th overall game played in Korea.
~just say'n~
Can you post any proof of that? Not saying that you're lying or anything, I'm just curious. I tried to search for the info myself but I can't find anything recent.
Well, I thought I was a "burnt vet", too old for MMOs and such.
I played both saturday and sunday in sneak peek 8 hours in a row. I didn´t do this since a long time. It´d be sad if this game fails, because it is fun to PLAY.
I have to agree with that. I fall asleep playing most games now, playing TERA kept me up way later then my old ass is used to staying up. I did put $5 down for the pre-order, but whether I pick it up or not really depends on if TSW or GW2 grab me tighter when their betas roll around. (For me, anyway, I know some folks are in them already, but I didn't luck out)
In every game, I mean EVERY game that comes out, there will always be haters preventing people from playing that game so they can keep their whole guild or playerbase in the game they are playing stable.
For me, I'll definitely try it and when I get bored? so what, who cares. Such is a life of a gamer, play a game then get bored then move on.. LOL

Pretty interesting blog post regarding TERAs future in NA/EU based on its performance in Asia. Brings up some points I haven't really seen posted elsewhere.
It's all theorycrafting, but still the future does look rather bleak for the game considering its previous performance.
Based on the same model was AION and Lineage 2 great hits here... Funny, I never noticed that.
The same game is not automatically a hit both in the west and the east. In fact very few games are popular in both places so TERA can still go any way.
Here is where En Masse is COMPLETELYYYYYYYYYYYYYY screwing up right now. Unless you are blind and deaf you know this game failed hard in Korea on launch because of lack of end game and is just now making a comeback.
En Masse needs to release one video after another with Tera end game DETAILED. Only thing I see right now is some 1-22 Beta crap that literally tells you nothing about end game. I am avoiding the game until I see way way wayyyyy more detail.
Like I told the TOR fans before their game launched 1% of your total time in a mmo is spent leveling. The other 99% is end game. This is proven time and time again that games with strong end game stay alive and the ones without it fail consistently.
You can translate it using Google or try this link.
MMORPGs that outrank TERA, in no particular order, are Aion, Maple Story, Dungeon Fighter, Lineage and World of Warcraft.
This website gave TERA a user score of 5.3. I'm assuming that's out of 10.
Here's the thing, #9 out of 100 is not a bad spot but it is not #4 as I've seen mentioned on these forums very often.
Edit: Yes, I quoted myself, deal with it.
Just throwing out some other rankings.
http://www.gamemeca.com/ Has Tera ranked 9 out of all games. It is ranked 5th out of mmos behind Aion, Lineage, Dungeon Fighter, and Maple Story.
http://www.gametrics.com Has Tera ranked 11 out of all games. It is ranked 6th out of mmos. Of course, this is a daily ranking that can fluctuate. Earlier this week it was 9th, and 4th for mmos.
Thats one possibility. Given some of the under handed stunts they've pulled over the years, it wouldn't surprise me. But keep in mind the old saying "Haters got to hate...". Or it could be someone who doesn't want their guildmates, friends to leave for a new game. Any number of possibilities.

So basically, the game is ranked between 9-11 out of all online games and is around 5-6 for MMOs.
Like I said, it's a pretty respectable spot but it's not the same number that people on these forums are claiming.
You know Tera isent so much of a Korean game as you might think. I think It will do really good in the West. PvP servers are harsh though.. Many Tears will fall when Tab target people who think they are all that get smacked and spanked by Evil gankers

Sure. But why bother with the PvP servers? There will be PvE servers that will see the tears falling from the gankers, at victims they can not gank... ^^
Yeah I am not sure where you are getting your numbers or data StayOnTarget, but can you actually back that up? Both South Korea and Japan have had several server merges already. Here is what we have so far:
Server Merge:
BHS Korea: 37 -> 35 -> 15 -> 13
There are currently 13 servers in South Korea. Since they mostly use subscriptions based on an hourly rate instead of monthly subscriptions, it is hard to tell the exact populations. But considering they went from 37 to 13 is not great news. They are doing "just ok" for now.
NHN Japan: 10 -> 3
I found out that the 2 main reasons why they quit was because of lack of content (this was also the number one reason for South Korea) and the number two reason was RMT was extremely rampant and NHN Japan took too long to rectify it. The current population is abysmal. They have 7000 simultaneous log ins. Final Fantasy XIV has 10000 simultaneous log ins. Just to give you a comparison. The game is probably done for in Japan unless some drastic measures and updates arrive soon.
NHN TERA Population History Trend (In blue):
NHN TERA Population Recent Trend (In blue):
Note that both charts stopped around February 5th because FFXIV stopped taking daily roll calls (they are doing it several times a week until the server merge happens). However Japan still takes in daily and HOURLY roll calls at the following website:
Horrible company all around going from customer service to censorship/banning in the forums to all the way to the top. This will probably have a negative impact on the game in the long run if they don't change their business practices. When Scapes wrote in the old forums that Frogster was going to handle the EU side of things, 65 pages of rage ensued. So much was the backlash that Daniel Ulrich (Director of Product Management) extended an olive branch to quell the masses. We will see how it goes but I have no faith in them to be honest.
So right off the bat 3 of the 4 regions looks like they might end up "failing" with only NA as a possibility. So overall this may adversely affect the game in the long run. But I don't know the extent of it.
EME Studios: Unknown
Half of EME is made up of former NCWest, while the other half come from numerous backgrounds. I may give them the benefit of the doubt since NCWest pretty much had their hands tied behind their backs, but NCWest didn't do anything to really improve their image as well. We will have to see how the relationship between BHS and EME unfolds and also see how EME handles the game as well as complaints and constructive criticism from the player base.
Could some idiots stop flameing TERA witt this korea bullshit, that it isnt much played in korea, It s the 4th most played MMORPG. It isnt only not in the top ten where things like gundam and starcraft are on the list.
Something that should be noted about http://www.gametrics.com/ is that they seems to update very often as Tera was a few days ago (about 5 or so) above both WoW and L2 placing it on the 8th place including games that arent MMORPGs so then the info provided by people earlier saying 4th place could have been correct.

So I did a bit more digging and apparently as of 01/12 TERA is ranked #9 most played online game in S. Korea as per http://www.gamenote.com/rank_ongame/?search_mode=monthly

So Tera is next target for doomer and gloomers.
The only new thing i learned from reading that blog is that TERA has animation locks.
Say it aint so. This for real? Someone set me straight.
That would absolutely kill any interest for me.
