Rolled a new artificer and forgot how fun DDO is.

think I'll finally give it a go.  I do love turbine, they seem to be a solid team.

DDO is good but you have to be patient with it. It took me longer than normal to really get into it. But once you do you realize its a pretty deep experience.

    In fact really deep.

yeah i love this mmo for some reason. i thought i would hate it. i generally hate instanced mmo's but for some reason i don't mind it in DnD. actually pretty fun MMO.

ive played off and on since launch, it really is a good game. however, im waiting for the Faerun expansion, then i'll be all over that game like ice on cream.

Same goes for me too. I thought instaced game would turn me back, but after some time I was deep in the lore.

It is only too bad that they went with Eberon setting, Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms would be a much better choice.

Will have to wait and see what improvements there are going to be with introduction of Forgotten Realms expansion.

    Hope for the best. :)

Agreed. This is a game that I always have kicking around on my hard drive. I've been playing it again recently and am really starting to appreciate it. Love the dungeons and after DDO would be hard to go back to a game that asks me to go kill 10 rats for 80 +  levels before the "real" game begins lol.

And Im interested what parts of the Forgotten realms will be created for content. Very neat.

D&D Online is truely a brilliant MMORPG. Building a character is enjoyable, there's lots to see and do and you get so much great gameplay for £0.

My wife & I played at release and enjoyed it, but the limited content (at cap there was only one raid or two dungeons worth doing at the time for example) and feeling of being trapped in a small city instance with no real open world feeling meant it didn't last much longer than a month.

I'd tried going back a few times but never got past the tutorial or the newer Korthos starting area. Until a few days ago, and I'm so glad I did push on, I'm actually having a lot of fun.

I'm pretty impressed with how this game has expanded, I'm finding more stuff I want to do than I have time for before outlevelling it rather than dreading repeating the same few dungeons over and over. Plus the community seems great so far and it seems busier than I remember it being at launch.

Anyway, I rarely take the time to voice anything but a few criticisms, so I thought I'd at least say 'Nice work' to DDO. I can't estimate how long it'll hold my attention, but for now I'm really enjoying it.

No, but it is a good CORPG.

CORPGs are a lot more intimate than a MMO and something that are best played with a group of friends or a small friendly guild.  Just like GW DDO is the perfect game if you and a few friends want a game to enjoy together.

Soloing or PUGing is not so great though, DDO is closer to P&P and a well balanced group of friends will play a lot better and have more fun.

MMOs are a rather different experience with many strangers playing together in larger zones even if it can have plenty of instanced dungeons. The open zones in DDO are just to get quests and to find PUGs.

it's a very fun game but it is best enjoyed with a tight knit group of a few  people who play together.

wait, that's just how you enjoy pencil and paper D&D as well....

damn, it might be an even better port of D&D than i previously thought :)

RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

That was the idea. Still, D&Ds dungeons are rather different and Biowares "Neverwinter nights" were really a lot closer.

It is the closest game with somewhat modern graphics though.

Right and that is how I have been playing the game for years now; I would say the vast majority of peopel who quit DDO are either soloist or Puggers...a good group of like minded folks really makes all the difference.

This sword here at my side dont act the way it should
Keeps calling me its master, but I feel like its slave
Hauling me faster and faster to an early, early grave
And it howls! it howls like hell!

The vast majority who quit are soloers or puggers? Sorry I would have to say that is absolutely false. A good group can make you stay, but in the end tons of entire guilds have quit.

I feel where some don't think they'll like the instance based gameplay, it's actually very reflective of the old DnD modules we PnP to. I look at every quest as another module for the small group to explore.
