Recommendations for a MMORPG for a complete newbie/not entirely graphics reliant!

Hiya!

I wanted to ask other players opinions (I'm sure some of you have played loads of these) on picking a MMORPG to play by someone who is completely new to multiplayer games on the net and stuff like these.

Ok, I've played a bit of runescape (bleh) and the closest of real multiplayer gaming is on Xbox Live.

I'm also asking for a MMORPG that isn't entirely graphics reliant. The reason for this is that I have a laptop (with onboard graphics which is always bad) but it is 128mb. My processor speed is 2.92ghz and I have 512mb ram, so I would be able to run some graphics, just not top top quality... so games which can run on a moderate graphics setting and still look ok.

Also... it must be able to run on a laptop (I've read somewhere some games don't).

With the fee's... I don't really mind paying either a monthly subscription OR for the software (though preferable not really expensive and the software can be download - but not like 6gb's... well I suppose with a 30gb limit that would be ok LOL).

As you can see a lot of "requirements" there but basically I just want your opinions on good ones to play.
As I mentioned, good for a completely and utterly new person to online multiplayer gaming as well.

Looking forward to your recommendations ::::08::

World of Warcraft is very newbie friendly. After you've had your fill of it, be sure to check out other MMO's, because there is a bit more out there. Most people I'd say fall in love with the first MMO they ever play, simply because of the vastness of the game, and all the people there.

WoW but if u cant handle the money issue so then you should switch to a cheaper game such as Ryl or a simple game like Anarchy online witch brings the noobish world to you easier you but anyway the easiest start MMo right now is WoW because the lvling system is meant not to be long term meaning you can play somewhat get farther then you would if u spent hours on hours playing that game

I'm gonna suggest There. Instead of forcing you to kill or quest like most MMORPGs you have more freedom of what you do. There is more of a Virtual World then a MMORPG, but don't let that scare you off. I'm into building and exploring, its got a modern feel to it.

People actually are able to make money in real life off of There's economy. Since the economy is based on trading real life dollors for Tbucks you can switch it around and make money yourself. People create new mini type games inside There every day.

The possibilities are endless, they truly are. Most people form hobbies and stick with that for sometime. At one time I was more into paintballing and racing and then I moved onto exploring and flying. The community is very creative and there is always something to do.

You could create the best big hit. There are endless amounts of things to do in There, its not centered around killing or fighting. Your really free to do and create whatever you like. There gives you powerful 3D modeling tools to create new objects, viechels, and clothing for you to sell.

    There

    See you in There!

I would say, as a small piece of advice to a noob from slightly less of a noob in mmorpg sense, tfree trials and beta tests are your friend, its a good way to get into the mmorpg seen, i would never suggest to a noob to go and play a well named game as few people will be around to party with you at low lvls, better off playing in beta tests, getting to know how the games work and playing with people with as much experience as you have in that game, and also the higher lvl people in beta tests are less likely to be obsessed at grinding and things so they are more likely to help you as they arent wasting money by wasting there time on a noob who they may never see again :) these people may also become friends with you in games were guild/clans are involved and they may play with you in many mmmo's, its always good to hav a pro friend who can go on your account and lvl you while your asleep because they maxed out there character and would like to party with you :)

Try to impress me, please, i dare u

Don't be impressed, if a game appeals you, go ahead !

A game for n00bs is a passport for incoming boredom.

And don't listen too much to critics or fanbois.
For instance Eve and MxO are both excellent but not made for everyone.
