I've been trying alot of game but keep going back to DAoC because of the great RvR the games has. I am now looking at picking up a new game simply because i am wanting to try something new. I am a huge PvP guy and i am trying to find something that has something close to RvR. I've played Guild Wars and thought it was ok, Warhammer i liked until they took out keep guards/lord, Hated WoW, Swtor had great story but i didn't like doing war zone after war zone.

I'm looking for a good PvP game with some sense of Realm pride.

I don't mind PvE at all

Wouldn't mind a good community within the game

Diverse classes and race selection is a plus

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks Guys

waiting on GW2 which is sort of RVR

    or Dominus

or Planetside 2 if you like FPS mechanics

The only thing remotely close to DAOC RvR  is  Gw2's  WvW.   Read up on it. its a carbon copy of RvR.

The way mmo's were: Community, Exploration, Character Development, Conquest.

The way mmo's are now : Cut-Scenes,Cut-Scenes, solo Questing, Cut-Scenes...

I would recommend Warhammer online, yea it’s old and run by mythic but there’s still people that play and hey 1-15 is F2P and still fun.  Worth trying out if you’re looking for something to pass the time till GW2 like me.

I would also say you might want to try the Wrath of heroes coming out currently in beta; it’s like Warhammer but more in a LOL setting. But there are three teams in every game and you can pick any free class and the more you play the more you can unlock in the cash shop, not a bad deal at least in beta. Each class has 5 unique abilities. And I believe they have 3 game modes currently.

Screw leveling games, give me something with "End game" at the beginning of the game.

    thats just not true

the original planetside was exactly the same PVP model as DAOC but with FPS rather than MMO mechanics and no PVE

planetside 2 will be the same, entire world of RVR

Dominus is being developed by ex daoc devs, altough it has PVE, RVR is the driving focus of the game just like original DAOC, in fact the devs state they are making a sci-fi DAOC, not just with RVR but other great things from daco like the crafting.

Both of those games feature 3 sides and full persistent RVR

GW2 features 3 match made servers and a fortnightly tournament, while it will probably be a good RVR like experience, its not full on RVR as the game is a mixed PVE/PVP game and also features arena style PVP.

I would suggest some MOBA games too (MultiplayerOnline Battle Arena). League of Legends, Heros of Newerth, and of course Defense of the Ancients 2.

    Gaming Names -
    Xboxlive - ThafinestX
    PS3 - ThafinestX
    LoL - DeeKno & ThaFinest
    SW:TOR - DeeKno & ThaFinest
    DAoC - Sebestian

RVR is about large scale persistent PVP that has consequences fr the gameworld.

MOBAs are tupperware PVP like battlegrounds in MMOs, they have ABSOLOUTLEY NOTHING in common with RVR.

While true, I don't see any viable RvR games out there (except DAoC) that warrants a purchase + subscription. So my alternative was purely from a financial standpoint.

I tried to download Realms Online from 2 different sites, but Norton reported it as a virus both times and deleted the .exe ..... Maybe it is being oversensitive but I'd just as soon play it safe.
