Looking for something old-style

OligarhOligarh Member Posts: 48

Hi. I am looking for something, not necessarily old, might be released even yesterday for all i care, but old school. It doesn't need to be an MMO or even online. A game that people really enjoyed, like, diablo 2, baldur's gate or something like this. Any suggestions?

The original Deus Ex is a great old game.

You can try Mythos Global. It has this diablo feel to it that can give you a nostalgic experience as you can say something old style :)

Diablos are actually copies of Roguelikes,so if you dont care much about craphics ,Google Roguelike.

And Path of the exile is pretty much Diablo online, just needs some heavy godmode luck with getting a beta key.

Icewind Dale(s) ,Planescape Torment and Neverwinter Nights are a lot like Baldurs Gate and really high quality games also.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

But about that game, roguelike, i don't really care about graphics, but i would like the game to have graphics, i don't like games    like dwarf's fortress, that are sorta text-based. I classify bad but acceptable graphics - Diablo 2, i don't have any complaint about the graphics of this game, and if Diablo 3 would be released with Diablo 2 graphics i wouldn't be disappointed.

Not like Diablo, but highly praised: Morrowind and Oblivion from the Elder Scrolls series.

Also, I'll second the suggestion of Neverwinter Nights.  Very well done.

there are a bunch of old style MMOs available for iphone/android devices

look up "mobile mmorpgs" and you'll find a few.

usually the graphics and gameplay is very simple but they
e usually either free or really cheap

I review lots of indie games and MMORPGs

You can get tilesets for Dwarf Fortress that make it look much better and more graphical than the default ascii.  It's a neat and complex game, and they recently had a big update to the adventurer mode (the roguelike portion).

There's also Tales of Maj'Eyal, which is a pretty neat roguelike that's at least a little more graphical.

Yes I have a dream… And its not some MLK dream for equality. …I wanna own a decommissioned lighthouse …And I wanna live at the top… And nobody knows I live there. …And theres a button that I can press, and launch that lighthouse into space.
