Great class story, ending was a bit pants to be honest but overall good. PvE wise its perfectly fine, some claim it not to be however I find no fault with it. PvP wise its awesome, even after the nerf.
I've 8 Imperial characters at the moment, all but my main are around 29-32 love them all but my 50 is a Bounty Hunter Mercenary Medic (Bodyguard spec).
I like the Medic spec of this class because of how the abilities interact with each other, so you can if you time things well still do a bit of DPS, the downside is that under really pressured situations you can't carry the group/operation even for a limited time as outputting too much burst healing messes up your resource, but if it's the closing seconds of a fight you can put a respectable burn in.
I like the Operative healing the least, it's a little too finicky managing what is essentially 2 resources, this is offset by some very handy & considerably powerful "Oh s**t!" abilities, the BH doesn't really get anything like those.
I look forward to trying the republic side when I'm done leveling these 8 to 50.
My main is my Bounty Hunter(Mercenary). A close second would be my Juggernaught, but only because I like his playstyle more than on my Inquisitor. The storyline for the Inquisitor is much more interesting.

I thought the story went to shit after the first act.
Sawbones was my first character (and I had fun dumpstering kids in Tatooine who had no clue how to fight a healer while Corso dps'd them down), but it got dull so I bounced.
Empire was much better. No wonder why there's more people there.
I'm extremely busy working but when I do have time I get on my Commando, great fun, plsu the option to respec a green laser shooting healer is pretty nice.
My first class was IA healer, but I just did not take well to the IA healing playstyle, the storyline was great though.
My main is a med/conceal hybrid operative and always will be. Keep going back to it dispite all the baddies complaining about nerfs. Frankly I would have no interest if playing full concealment and not sure why so many players think any other spec is pointless. Multi-spec will save this class for sure. Amazingly different playtyles per tree and buffs be a coming.
Enjoying leveling a marauder too. Very complex melee play. Honestly a sniper/gunslinger is similar for pure range ... complex and challenging and I found vastly more fullfilling than commando/merc dps spec. Too bad players simply want fotm easy mode classes.
Hoping changes to commando/mercs are good. Found them to be one of the most boring classes to play in any mmo I have ever played.
I'm giving this game as near a solid year as I can muster to see how much content is thrown out. Come 1.2 it will be more than Champions Online put in in around 2 years so is a good sign.
I just have one character and that is the Sith Inq/ sorc and it has a great story line to it. Political intrigue, back stabbing, misplaced loyalties, ego domination, Like the old show Dallas but with more violence
I'm sorry, but it's obvious you have not played Sith Inquisitor at all - or, at least, you have not played it over L20 - because the Sith Inqusitor story not only has NONE of those things but it's generally accepted as being one of the WORST story lines. You're not trying to trick the OP are you?
I am sorry for you because the Sith Inq tied with the highest score on the poll. Did you look at the Poll? The Sith Inq is indeed the personification of evil and Bioware does a great job of fleshing out that story line. My character is lvl 28 and I am having a great time with him, [Mod Edit]
I have a L50 Sith Inquisitor - a Sorc/Healer. You're level 28.
You're going to find the story gets a lot, lot duller. Good luck with that.
OK LOL first you said I would not enjoy a Sith over level 20, then I told you I was level 28, are you are now saying Wait until you hit lvl 50-well which is it lvl 20 or 50, and since you got to lvl 50 so fast can I assume you are space barring the story? I will say this to be fair, 2 people can read the same story and one may love it and the other may hate it, but for you to make a blanket statement when the Poll differs with you is kind of silly
Actually, I'm assuming you're a rather slow and naive player who reached L28 to get to the stage in the story most of us reached at L20. OK, LOL?
I was the very first guy on any server to pick a Sith Inquisitor and go Sorcerer and fuck me nearly everyone else copied me, though its always nice to know you've started a positive trend especially with regardes to PvP. I've now rolled a Jedi Knight and gone Guardian and you know everyones copying me again, though its great being such a trend setter.

don't flatter yourself, everyone re-rolled sorc because they are incredibly OP with all their bubbles, instant slows, instant damage, crazy knockback and insanely high healing. hands downthe most mobile class in the game.

Well, I don't know you and I've never fought against you but yup, you da man as self declared. Everyone wants to be you and be like you now. Do you have anything to back up your statements that you are a trend setter?
If not, you are are having delusions of grandeur and need professional help.
Main char is a 50 commando (DPS) but I really wanna get my shadow to 50 as I'm more of a burst damage guy and the consular story line rocks from what I've played through with my mate ( he lvled a shadow and a sage to 50 so I tagged along to get him lvled up quicker)
You want to play a smuggler! They are a blast! Mine is heal spec. They're not the best healer in the beginning but around 30 or so they get to be pretty great! My main's personality is so great and the storyline is entertaining. She's like a female Han Solo.
Playing: None Have Played: City of Heroes, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, Fallen Earth, Diablo 3, DC Universe Online, Marvel Heroes, Guild Wars 2, Star Wars The Old Republic
Playing Commando the most lately, after starting out rolling an Operative, an Inquisitor, and a Marauder. Quite frankly, I think the combat in this game is clunky and frustrating, and since I generally enjoy playing support and healing roles anyway, that's what I've been trying to stick to. It's also extremely difficult for me to level entirely through quests, so I generally get most of my experience from the pilot dailies, warzones, and the class quests only. It's far more enjoyable for me that way, and I'd much rather have all of the side quest bullshit cut from this game, so the developers and story writers could focus primarily upon making all of the time spent running missions as interesting as the class quests have been.
Overall, I'm not that pleased with this game. It's a level treadmill I've ran so many times, I don't understand how Bioware imagined that simply adding VO to quest givers would make me want to do it again. I'd be bored out of my mind without the pilot missions and PvP to mix it up, and even that's wearing thin.

I love this forum you guys crack me up next time I'll preface the post with a ton of smilies OK? that'll make it easier for you to understand the joke about the mass of Sorcerers and Jedi Knights in game, but yes I do have an EGO the size of the Pacific if that helps.

Don't think I'm gonna be around long after the nerfs though. I'm not a PvP'er and I understand them balancing classes for PvP, but in the meantime I think they're ruining them for PvE. I know....flame on.....as my opinion on this is not popular (I don't care). Nerfing my healer pisses me off. And I have just as much right to be pissed about it as anyone does to be pissed OR NOT.
I'm in like a 10 person guild and I solo absolutely everything. I think I grouped 3x between 1 and 30. I don't appreciate being made weaker. They should figure out a way with GEAR or something to balance classes for PvP without jackin' around with PvE balance, but whatever.
/end unreasonable rant
Yes, I realize it's unreasonable. I don't give a f***.

Actually the nerf to sorc healer was pretty much a pve nerf as much as a pvp nerf. Sorcs in the rights hands made them bar none the best healers in the game. I've seen plenty of LF1M Sorc healer. Even with this nerf I still feel sorcs are better healers in a pve envoirment atleast then a mercenary/trooper. At worse case scenario there finally on par with the other healers.
It becomes a pve issue because there are limited amount of spots in groups/flashpoint and there isn't a shortage of Sorcs which means it becomes much harder to get into a group or guild as a merc/operative healer when there is another class that fills the role better then you.
Keep in mind Mercenary healing was also nerfed through our heat management.

Thank you. Somehow that all made me feel a little bit better about it. I still don't like it, but at least for this moment I don't feel like blowing up anyone and feeding the parts to my companion.
We'll have to see when 1.2 is released. Hopefully its not was bad as it looks. I'll never understand why companies swing the nerf bat instead of just improving the other classes. You get the same result without pissing off the people who don't PVP.

Smuggler - Scoundrel - Scrapper Spec.

I was a level 50 Smuggler Gunslinger in full Rakata before I unsubbed about 10 days ago. PEW PEW

I'm surprised at the results, since on my server (Hidden Beks EUR) almost no one is playing Republic characters.
Bounty Hunter (powertech)
Jedi Consular (Shadow)
Sith inquisitor (Sorcerer)
Sith Warrior (juggernaut)
i like all the rest as well, but these 4 are my favorite. When i was playing i kept switching between them every some levels
edit: i didnt considered any as main because as i said i constantly leveled all 4 like i would with 1 main toon
