here is a question that I don't think has been asked at least not directly, given all the information that we have seen thus far which is content from 3 races up to level 30 my question is what can we expect after level 30? Judging by the way the game is set up it appears that we will have all of our skills by level 30? Is this true? Are there any skills that you get after level 30l such as new elite skills that haven't been reveled yet? If after level 30 you dont learn anymore new skills then is this where the trait system essentually comes into play where you focus on refining your character?
I'm not complaining in the least and whatever the system is I will enjoy it I'm just wondering how the majority of the games population is going to react when/if they realize there is no level 80 omg awesome skill to get.
What do you guys think?

Level 31.

It's about enjoying the game for what it is and less about who spends more time getting this or that item.

i wonder the same thing. Maybe there will be elite skills over lvl 30 + traits. I doubt the lvl 30 will be the very limnit of skill progression because it doesnt make any sense to have a lvl 80 cap if your character wont progress over lvl 30 when it comes to powers.
it may take longer than lvl 30 to unlock all the weapon skills. as you have to use each individual weapon type to unlock them. and remember that the press got auto-lvld to 30 if they wanted. Anet could have easily given them more skills than what a normal lvl 30 could/would have.
I've got the straight edge.
OK, seriously...
There are still additional traits to unlock, for one thing. You won't get the last slots until I think level 70 or in that area. You'll have additional skills to unlock as well... you won't have all the skill points needed to unlock all your utilities by level 30. Plus, you'll have all the 30+ zones waiting for you as well.

I was thinking about PvP where you are leveled up to 80 so i'm assuming you have all the skills. That's what i'm curious about, do you get all the skills when you enter WvW?
[EQ][DAoC][WoW][WAR][SWToR][GW2][TSW][WS}
im pretty sure no for WvW. i think you do in structured pvp.
I've got the straight edge.
they really did think of everything hmmm. I didn't even look into this until i read this thread. Nice that you don't have to wait until level 80 to get all of your non-weapon skills.
thus you can explore the rest of the game content practicing the stuff you've learned.
This is correct... for the competitive PvP you are fully boosted and geared for level 80. WvW is "come as you are", then you're character is buffed to 80 but the gear doesn't change.

My FAVORITE part about anyone coming to the GuildWars universe: That point where they realize Levels don't matter ...so much for "XP bonus @ cashshops" ='ing P2W.

levels do matter because when u enter WvW u still have the same gear, same skills and same traits, only stats are boosted, so if u wanna do good in WvW u need high lvl for traits and skills and u must get a decent gear in PvE.
In all mmo's your waiting and playing for that next level, in GW2 that is finaly over to a large degree.
I can jump into the most fun stuff without looking what level i am.
I can kick off evens around my level range if i want to, may it be close or realy far away.
Levels do matter a little bit for events, but for most of the fun stuff you dont need to look in the corner and be anoyed you still need to grind 40 levels to enter a battlegrounds / World PvP zone.
Well, since they took out sidekicking up in all PVE content, that isn't really true anymore. You will still need to get levels / concern yourself with gaining XP to be able to progress in the world, in your story and in dungeons, it seems.

I think the OP has a point though.
To put it differently;
How many of the game world's zones and dungeons did we see so far and were accessible in the press-beta?
Did we see any high level zones and dungeons yet anyway?
Just wondering about the state of the game and hoping they aren't pulling a Tortage on all of us.
The fact that they took out sidekicking up in all pve content, and people still needing to progress and gain levels to participate in higher leveled content (i.e. invest a lot of time before they get there) MIGHT hint at higher leveled stuff still needing substantial development and Anet being unsure if they will get all the bits and pieces on before launch.
What say you?

People should stop worrying about what comes next, and try enjoying the content that is infront of them right then and there.
If you plan to race to level 80, you will be cheating yourself of what the Guild Wars 2 experience is all about.
It is unfortunate that some people will jump into the game using their 'experience' of past MMO's, and be utterly lost.
There is very little hand holding in this game, once you hit level 2... Youre on your own, but that doesnt mean there wont be other people there to help you through the experience, because this time you wont be fighting for quest mobs, you'll be banding together with strangers to take down massive creatures at level 10... or 15... or 27 or... well, you get my point.
There is no End Game, because its ALL Game.

We have seen the map with all zones up to lvl80. Some of those have already been accessible at various tradeshow demos last year. The map with the Tequatl boss event was a lvl50 map iirc, and pretty far developed already.
Levels in GW2 are a way to measure how much content you have unlocked. That is pretty much the only thing they are used for.
There was a quite lively discussion some time ago that the game could actually have worked without any levels at all. Quite a few of us were pretty interested in how that would have worked out, but ultimately Arenanet decided to keep that part of classic RPGs.

Once again i'm not concerned at all about the higher level zones and content, I'm sure that they need polish and a few touch ups here and there but nothing to concern ourselves about.
I think the next betas will probably include content higher than lvl 30, but perhaps not. The press seems to have liked the game for now, but they have only shown 1 dungeon out of 8 or 9, less than a half of leveling zones and I think only 1 structured PvP map. I think it's good that they have removed sidekicking up, gives me something to look forward to while leveling and gives me a reason to play with my friends more. I think they will be done by late June if there won;t be any unexpected problems.
So if there is no end game, how will people ruin their Guild Wars 2 experience by racing to 80? Because they can just sidekick down to enjoy all the lower level content again?
Clearly the levels have more meaning then most people realise, otherwise they wouldn't be in the game to begin with.
'I have long since closed my eyes... My only goal is in the Darkness.'
The levels are there only for psychological reasons. People expect them to be there because other games have them.
My point is people should take their time leveling and exploring the zones as they go through them.
Arena Net has actually put effort into hiding little things for explorers to find, Youre going to miss those things if youre just looking to get to 80 ASAP.

The way the game works is as you level up you gain access to areas that were designed harder then previous areas... Seems normal right? Ok well for the most part yes it is. But that is where the importance of a level ends. They are using levels as sort of a retainer to keep people from jumping into teh game running to the zones to get the exact skills and traits they feel necessary for their playstyle and then getting bored. Being level 80 will only mean you can now successfully explore the whole world, work through all the elite skill puzzles, and complete deeds to earn all available traits. Your level doesnt make you strong it keeps you from becoming to strong to fast with the system that they have for skills and traits.
