Picked up the DE, the DDE and CE items were lame across the board.  Really lame...  I would rather put the extra money into the cash shop or pick up gems.

Now to ignore the game until launch when I will login and put on my O face.

This is a thread about GW2 not SWTOR.

edit- Kinda makes me misty tho you couldn't apply this logic to your pre purchase of Star Wars.

1 standard - That was a simple process, got it done before even starting my morning coffee.

Now the real hard part begins...the wait for release.

ArenaNet said they are going a different direction because Amazon couldn't get the game to players doors in time.  They are going with Best Buy and Gamestop as physical retailers, but are not distributing through Amazon.  Seems weird to me I wouldn't be surprised if this changes, but Amazon would be their biggest competitor for their internal distribution which saves them money.

I mean we are paying full price for a digital download which probably saves them close to $10 a copy.  Why not take Amazon out of the mix?

I myself will be getting the Collectors Edition. One of my favorite characters in their books was Rytlock and I think the statue looks pretty badass.

Man I'm gonna laugh so hard if this turns out to be yet another over hyped fiasco like all the other fail MMOs we've seen recently.

Given the level of fanaticism some of you are displaying I wouldn't be surprised if we get a few suicides to boot.

    1 DDE for me.

  • RagnorMalakRagnorMalak Member UncommonPosts: 115

1 DDE; would have bought CE if I had more money around. I liked that they didn't let us EU players pay the exact amount of dollars in euro's as most game companies do: DE is 54,99 euros in EU and DDE 74,99 euros, although it is still much higher than the value in dollars: we in EU actually pay 70 dollars in value for the DE (10 more) and 98 dollars for DDE (18 more).

Sucks to be a EU gamer... Although even at this cost it will probably be more than worth it.

Option in poll missing, I ordered physical box Std Edt.

  • DragonantisDragonantis Member UncommonPosts: 974

Ordered 2 Digital Deluxe editions for me and the wife, shes very happy with me atm.

This has been a very good day so far XD

Now to bite my nails until release...

  • doragon86doragon86 Member UncommonPosts: 589

I ordered the digital edition. I saw no real reason to pickup the digital deluxe. I rather use that extra $20 and get some cash shop items.

    <--- 1 DE

  • GoldenArrowGoldenArrow Member UncommonPosts: 1,186

The standard version is the only one worth the money.

Much rather spend the DD/CE money on the CS.

I'll pass though. When I'm drunk and bored I might buy this game but pre-order... naw.

  • KakkzookaKakkzooka Member Posts: 591

I prepurchased the DDE for play and 2 Collector's Editions to save in case the game does as well as I anticipate it will.

As recently as four months ago, a sealed Collector's Edition of WoW Vanilla was selling for $4,000.00 on eBay. So I'm treating this as a hobbyist investment. If it doesn't do as well, I'll have the memorabilia. :)

As for special editions, bonuses are not that hot (digital ones)

And i am sure 20$ will give you better stuff in item shop anyway (character slots, bag space)

Yep, exact same deal for me.

What do you get today that you won't get if you wait?

  • KanethKaneth Member RarePosts: 2,286

Just the plain 'ol Digital Edition. Nothing in the Deluxe or CE made me feel like I had to have them.

  • christwoodchristwood Member UncommonPosts: 66

    DE from local retailer.

I had planned to buy GW2 from their official site, but the price for Europe was 55€, which is really disappointing cause 55€=72$.

So I prepurchased it from my local retailer instead for 45 €. Sweet!
