i know it doesnt work like that and for yoru reference there are 49 lvl 55 players on right now.
Yup I think you have it now. There's no point in doing the total headcount right now since this is EU primetime and where the server population is low. In about 7 or 8 hours from now I'll do the next headcount.
Wednsday - Last count for the day when the server is at its peak
Wednsdays count ends with 309 people online at 9.30 pm EST (US)
Good news about that is, it's a moderate increase compared to 6 months ago where there would only be 200~ people on at this hour on a weekday. It will be more interesting to see the Saturday population where Vanguard is at it peak throughout the week
OCD much? Youve really been goin on and on about this numbers argument.

I have to admit, I've seen you posting around and generally your negative attitude bums me out - but I've realised you're only trying to point out the facts. I returned to Vanguard a few weeks ago (haven't played since '08) and despite the population being as low as it is, I haven't had trouble finding groups at all - granted I'm only lvl 26 atm, but I've got groups together for Riftseeker's Torrent, Khegor's End, Hunter's League quest-line and more recently Trengal keep with very little trouble, just need to put a little affort in and communicate with those who are online.
I returned because of the F2P announcement but I've sinced realised the low population doesn't bother me, even if there are only 200 people on at a given time - it's not as if you need 100 people to form a group and have fun, surely 5 people in that bunch will be keen to run a dungeon or help on a quest. 'least that's what I've found. (it also helps being in a guild ofc)
My advice to people is just think, 200 doesn't sound like much - but it's plenty enough players to enjoy the content that makes Vanguard great, the group content. (just have patience and put in a little effort to get groups rolling)

To expand on this
The game is just as populated between 1 - 20 as it is from 51 - 55. If people want to group then befriend people on IoD who has an interest in subscribing and do some adventuring. Finding people that play regularly and sticking to them is not as hard as it seems. I've managed to successfully do this on several occations.
Despite the population it's still quite possible to get regular groups. Just don't expect to find them using the LFG tool or by writing in the general channel. It can happen but chances are you are going to waste hours doing so and still not get any results
Another good way is to look where the action is at, starting at skrillen point/skrawla rock for the HL quest. Befriend people doing that quest line
I'm curious what the server averages are for other games. What's the average number on an EQ2 server or Rift server or LOTRO server. Without that info the OP is just out of context data.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein "Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre
Come on now starpower....the population on telon was consistently over your 309 Max Friday night from 10pm-1am est. I know you checked. I'm waiting to see what numbers you post. I checked multiple times myself.

I was asleep lol
The interesting numbers are tonight. Saturday is the day where VG is at its highest. I will check at 10pm instead tonight. I personally hope for a number above 500. Anything below and It's just going to show there's zero change in numbers over the last couple of years, and that the news of going F2P and returning developers has had no effect on the population as of now
I'll check once at 10pm EST. If you aren't doing anything then take a count around 12 - 1am and post a screenie. That way it's covered completely
I had to watch the redwings. I got ingame after it was done. It was below 500, but over 320 by a bit from 10-12, 12-1 it was between 310-320. I checked about 4 times each hr.
I dont get what you are trying to prove with this thread. 300 - 500 players online is nothing to boast about.
Just shows how dead the game is still.
No doubt the population will skyrocket once it goes F2P, but the game is still the same so any increase will drop off again after a few months or so...

Can you post the server populations for other MMOs that you are comparing that to?

That's pretty sad considering for about a year, Saturdays have been pretty steady in the 400+ numbers.
The conclusion is
There's no population boom
People are not returning making the game more populated than ever
The server is not bustling with people
Things are not finally changing around
The very last hope is this summer.
You still haven't posted server populations for other MMOs so while these posts are probably making you feel great while you do your VanguardDoomGloomNanaNanaPooPoo Dance around your room, it still is contextually useless data for the rest of us.

It's completely irrelevant. This is about trends for Vanguard. Whatever conclusion you want to make out of the headcounts I leave in your hands. If you want to believe VG is doing great compared to other MMOs individual servers then go ahead. It's not really what this count is about hence why your questions are irrelevant and obtuse.
I get that posting the actual numbers is going to hurt some peoples feelings, like yours, making you feel the need to lash out. The truth of the matter is wether I post the numbers or not. The numbers will still be the same. My post doesn't make them go down. So wipe those angry tears away and just enjoy the game for what it is
I actually enjoy this game and this thread hasn't irritated me as I thought it would've...frankly if more MMOs had this command I think the world would be a better place, there's something rather soothing about a cold hard number that just makes you think 'ah fair enough, let's get on playing then'.
While the thread did take a somewhat negative turn their is something to be said about the honest numbers. If you go into Vanguard expecting a bustling population, or given the impression that the population is bustling you will be fustrated. I will say that at least up until the 20's so far getting started, I have always been able to find someone to group with during a play session.
Maybe not the entire play session, maybe not always when I need someone for a particular quest or crawl, but I have been able to play with others every play session if I want to.
This is a great game to start with a signicant other or a friend or two though. There will be times when you will want/need help and it may not be available immdiately.
I wouldnt be too put off with this either. Although the population is smaller, nearly everyone who contributes to the current population (pre-F2P) is mature, friendly and helpful. This I value much more than if the numbers were quadrupled and 3/4 of the population being the opposite.

You are still doing it wrong Teikk. Do /who count all 55
Remember to add *count*. Then your list won't be congested at 40 people
It doesn't work if you add - in between the numbers. It's clear and cut. /who count all 50 55 not /who count all 50-55
Right now there's 51 people on who's level 55
i know it doesnt work like that and for yoru reference there are 49 lvl 55 players on right now.

I personally tend to play the MMO's where the majority isn't. Whats the name of that game with the most players again?
Friday - 6.30 EST - 245 players
Such a rebel, you play by your own rules!
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
I personally tend to only eat grass while other people are eating pizza. I'm pretty hard core and 3dgy too.
Butthurt much?
