Release date speculation poll

I'm bored and just want to get some feedback on when the consumer's believe GW2 will be released.. I'm going to guess June 15th because that's my favorite day, so what better way to celebrate my favorite day than to see guild wars 2 released  :)

    I will WISH for earlier, but I think that September is their target date with a possible safety date of October.

    While truly its impossible to say, with too many factors influencing the release - I think its safe to say the release date is sooner then later.  Anet would NOT have approved of an open beta and dropping of the NDA if it did not believe the game was nearing its final state.  Also one does not need to look much further then past MMO releases to know that Pre-orders + Open Beta weekends usually take place only a few months prior to release.

     

    For these reasons alone I'm going with a late June, early July release date.  Again though who knows..

    I say June, the game just needs a little bit of optimising, polishing and bug fixing. It will probably take 1-2 months max.

    I thought some time in June at first. But now I think September is more realistic after the BWE. If I see a huge improvement in the next BWE I might say end of June or July.

    I voted September - but think it could be anytime between August 1st and September 30th.  I'm guessing there will be at least two more BWEs.  Honestly I don't want them to rush this - the game is so obviously a labor of love that to rush tweaking the last few items would be a shame.  They need some more time with Overflow, Trading Post, and Scaling - all items that are very affected by volume and all items that really have to be right at launch.

     

    All that said would I mind if they let us Beta test each weekend between now and then?  I promise I won't pester them at all............ :)

             You bring up a valid point. Every MMO I've played at release that dropped the NDA and had stress test Open Beta Weekends usually went live under 3 months.. Considering this, I would literally bet my house and go to a loan shark to borrow a million dollars and bet GW2 will be released by July 27th or sooner.. That's pretty much how confident I am.. No MMO I'm aware of has ever dropped the NDA and had a pre purchase open beta weekend for thousands of people If they were more than 3 months away from an actual launch date...

           I'm sure Arena Net has a July 27th or sooner release date in mind and they wouldn't have dropped the nda and had this test If they weren't confident GW 2 would be released at this date...

    29th? Wait is this poll for EU release or NA?

     

    I'm voting the week of June 26th or the following week.

     

    Those voting for Sept-Dec will be either very disappointed their guess is wrong, or very happy the game is coming before Sept.

    I promise you the game will be out before Sept.  Aug. would be the absolute latest they will release based on all I've read and seen.

    Based on the BWE I would say we are on track for late June release. It's important to remember that we were most likely playing a build of GW2 that was a few months or so old for the BWE. They have a much more up to date version they test internally, or at least that is how most companies do things.

    Considering there are still 2 races that haven't been tested yet, including those 2 races' starting areas and cities  Unless the Asura and Sylvari are in the next BWE and they are very polished, I wouldn't expect a release until after August 1st.

    I'm guessing sometime in the month of August, but who knows.  I sure wish it was sooner!

    From what we saw in the last beta, there is no way that we will get the game in June, i saw arrows hitting prople through walls, abililty delay, they have a lot of problems with the animations, and im not even talking about the huge performance issues, wich is a gamebreaker in WvW, is really a long list of problems the game need at least 4 months.

    I'm expecting at least another BWE in May. If Graphics cards optimisation and the last 2 available races and thus starting areas are in then they might be ready for a July release. I however think not everything will be in there.

    3 BWE's seems more likely than just 2. End of June last updates and it's still August for release if not September.

    I'll err on the side of safety and vote for September. There are several issues still with the game and they'll want to release it when it's really ready. It might take 2 or 3 more BWE's before they get to a release candidate state. They will want to avoid the problems with logins and overflow servers like this first BWE and the stress at release will be huge! They'd better take the time to be ready.
