Funcom has announced the details for the first beta weekend for The Secret World. The doors will swing open on Friday, May 11th and run through Sunday, May 13th. Players will be able to try out the Templar starter story and head to the town of Kingsmouth.
This first Beta Weekend gives but a glimpse of the wealth of content and gameplay that will be available in The Secret World at launch.
During this Beta Weekend players get to explore London and Kingsmouth. London is one of three hub cities in the game, and home to the Templars. In later Beta Weekends players will also get to play the Illuminati in New York and the Dragon in Seoul.
Read all of the details and check out the FAQ at The Secret World.

Meh. They sent me an actual full time beta invite last week. I deleted the email after laughing out loud for a solid 5 minutes.
-Letting Derek Smart work on your game is like letting Osama bin Laden work in the White House. Something will burn.-
-And on the 8th day, man created God.-
Bah, shoulda given it to me!

So its already ahead of Aoc
Gamespot handing out keys! Hurry
I think it's even funnier that you must have signed up for it to get a key.
You guys sound like a bunch of people who are biased against the game before playing it. Hold your opinions so the rest of us reading this cant attain our own. Thanks

QFT, it's like people are only excited for a beta when they have to pre-purchase the entire game with no expected date of release.
Cant wait, i pre-ordered it..
So this is gonna be a test how the game feels to me, and how the talent works

So your negative emotions towards Funcom will drive your impressions towards TSW? Why dont you write your impressions already if you have already made up your mind.
God I feel disgusted already to see all those "impressions" from people who are fans to other games, who wont even try TSW actually in the beta, but just bash it because it's supposed to look legit after the beta weekend...
Good thing i got in the beta couse i rather test the game before buying it. :P
I've played TSW enough already to never wanna to go back to another kiddy MMO again. Thank the goddess someone makes games for adults! I can't wait for release!

That was beautiful!

Impress me failcom. You only got 1 chance.
Thanks for the heads up!
I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all possible means - except by getting off his back.
Very interested in hearing how this weekend goes since i will be long gone by friday and not back until much later. Hope you guys are able to give a good review whether it be positive or negative. Happy Gaming!
I'm sorry but the only one saying anything about the second coming is you. Fans of a game accept its flaws and strengths.
I think I will check this out...
Good luck with Champions Online.
the gamespot thing is only for the first beta week and you got to preorder the game in order to get all of the beta events.
I got my all access TSW beta key a couple of days ago and traded it to a Tera collector's edition key. I wouldn't pay for Tera after beta testing it, so I thought that it would be a smart way to try it out again. I still don't like it. Oh well...it was free.
I wanted to insult the guy for using a silly term like failcom, but I'm still bitter from the AoC launch. Not saying they can't change and do something cool, but AoC was pretty poor after level 15 or so. The entire game just broke down after the intro and it got worse the longer you played.
What concerns me the most is that TSW is going to be a bunch of instances based around certain hubs like AoC. One of AoC's largest problems was that it felt like a random collection of arbitrary zones and not a complete, integrated world. It didn't inspire me to play through all the problems.
If you don't worry about it, it's not a problem.
Nah, we get excited when we see a flood of exciting things covering YouTube wall-to-wall for more than a year. Easy to want to try a beta for something that actually looks f*cking outstanding.
